  1. Today
  2. Ultimately, its TV football fans, including many Scots, who are helping to pay these inflated wages.
  3. The averages in the Championship are heavily skewed by the newly relegated teams on EPL wages. Still some great wages to be had though with the right team, but lots of players in the "lesser" teams earn closer to 5 or 6 grand a week.
  4. Unfortunately, it's the Sky effect of obscene amounts of money thrown at the English game bolstered by huge revenue from its relentless advertising of gambling firms on TV. Even the trickle down from the English Premiership to the Championship puts us completely in the shade. In any case, I wouldn't think the likes of Doncaster would be capable of negotiating a deal which would be to the general advantage of Scottish clubs (i.e. beyond simply the OF) .
  5. No one up here can get close to the wages teams in the championship pay, I guarantee he’ll be at least doubling his wages going from Celtic to there. I saw a list of players in that league and I think the average is around £15/20k pw and that’s the average. I’m sure Turnbull was £25k before Cardiff were relegated. crazy to think 30years ago it would be a step down from SPL wages to go to a lower league English side.
  6. Welsh away to swansea by the looks of it.
  7. Yesterday
  8. Will try my best but can't promise anything. Ps. Seeing as Swansea are signing Stephen Welsh....does that mean Toulouse will sign Hamish French? 🤪🤪
  9. Is that the standard we can expect for the season coming, 😱 we are a European team now, you need to up your game
  10. Likewise Allan. Especially so given that the directors knew about JBA's intention to leave weeks ago. However, sometimes paperwork and bureaucracy can draw matters out.
  11. The club manage to keep information in-house these days as opposed to the Burrows-era where everyone in Lanarkshire knew what the gossip at the club was. Appointing a new manager, specifically a new manager who fits the club, isnt always straightforward
  12. Going off the same timescale as appointing both Wimmer and Jens we're looking at the end of this week for an announcement. I think on both occasions securing a work permit took over a week so there's a chance we already have our guy we're just waiting on the paperwork being official.
  13. We're pretty much on the same timeline as the last 2 appointments, and there's still plenty of time before pre-season. In theory, we could have started early because we knew JBA was leaving, but i believe it was similar with Wimmer.
  14. I thought it would be done by now tbh given the club will knew they’d have to replace . Leads to me suspecting we’ve not secured our primary preferred candidate(s) got to think something will happen this week . meanwhile credit to the club for keeping it tight , they manage that side of things well .
  15. Didn't realise he had a new hairstyle! 🤪🤪
  16. Jens wasn't appointed til 12th June last year and he had a major rebuild on his hands. I'd rather we took our time and got it right..
  17. The Euro draw is on Wednesday 17 June and the players return on Thursday 18 June.
  18. Maybe he's already there 🤔
  19. I tjought we would have announced someone by now, the Euro draw is next week and the players are due back two weeks from now i think , so we need to get a manager in place asap.
  20. That's sounds like ChatGPT seeing his surname and having an AI hallucination.
  21. Bristol have signed Kofi Balmer on a perm.
  22. Stephen Welsh away to Swansea apparently
  23. That’s a tough gig then !
  24. Robin van Persie sacked by Feyenoord. In charge for just 16 months. Managed 2nd place finish in the league and qualified for the Champions League. Next stop FP? 😂😂😂
