  2. Technically McLeish played for us as well. That only leaves Peter Grant, who I can safely say didn't play for us (but did have some memorable moments at FirPark).

  3. So fully qualified coaches who see him every day training and playing couldn't predict the kind of impact he made, even the coaches at Alloa were surprised. However "anyone with knowledge could CLEARLY see he had huge quality". Aye right, Mystic Meg. Love these nuggets with clairvoyance who never predicted it on these forums but are happy to come on after the event and pretend it was obvious. There is not one person on this planet including the player himself would have predicted he could have made the impact he did after January.

  4. Great article by Alan Burrows in the times stating the clubs policy . Fully agree with him on the subjects he covered . It’s always going to be a gamble with young players and theres no way we could have foreseen the speedy progress made by Hastie . There’s not may CEO would be willing to come out in the press to justify there actions but Burrows does so in an articulate and concise way . It’s up to Hastie what he does next . We’ve gave it our best offer . Hopefully the article will clear up a lot of discussion around our transfer policy for our supporters

  5. How true, how true (wipes away a manly tear). I can almost smell the yeast from the brewery near Tynie…..

  6. On the Continent is fantastic. The depth of knowledge that James Horncastle and Andy Brassell have is frightening, and they’re both excellent at putting it across in a really enjoyable way, it’s not dry at all. Jonathan Wilson is on this weeks show, who I don’t like as much, seems a bit of a weirdo. I’ve given At The Match a couple of go’s now and just can’t get into it. Not sure what it is. To be fair it’s only the first two episodes I listened to so maybe it’s improved.

  7. Could maybe try On the Continent for the European stuff. I listen to that too and enjoy that. Main show is on a Wednesday and they have the Mailbag that goes out on a Saturday. Both usually feature James Horncastle and Andy Brassell. Speaking of Brassell he's started a pod called At the Match which is a really good listen too. He pitches up at a game across Europe and a good bit of is simply recordings of the crowd to give you a feel for the atmosphere with interviews with supporters or people knowledgeable on the clubs featured. A couple recently included Sporting v Benfica and Bayern Munich v Dortmund.
