  1. Couple of things about this signing. He can play across the front three so maybe not necessarily planned to be the central striker. His record of 2 goals in 17 for Blackpool looks poor until you consider only he only started 8 of those games. Louis Moult was signed from non league. Ojaama had a checkered career before coming here. Scott McDonald was one unsuccessful trial away from flying back to Australia. Sometimes players just need the right environment. In short, give the guy a fucking chance...

  2. My post was actually in jest and a reference to another post recently which stated those running the club were amateurs. I have nothing but admiration for those running the club. Apologies that I did not make that more apparent.

  3. That must be some kind of record. Ink is hardly dry on the contract

  4. You are aware that you have a vested interest in your prediction coming true? That will define your posts on here because ultimately for your premonition to come to fruition will require the club to have a meltdown. Seems a bit of a joyless position over the next few years, hoping they will say so you can spout on a forum or in a pub how you knew but nobody listened. However feel free to outline your reasoning and why you have an axe to grind. Maybe some of the preconceptions or "truths" you feel are fact may be challenged and your position changed, there's certainly a wealth of knowledge on here as to the running of the club that could nip a few of your views before they fester. It's a bit like betting money on our opposition to beat us in a game, which I did once and won 55 quid when Darren Jackson scored for Hibs. Do I take the three points or pad out my wallet. Never done it again since, don't want anything to taint wanting a Motherwell victory. Granted it helped there was a Ladbrokes in the East Stand at the time.

  5. It's a no-lose for the club then really, isn't it? Unless he's absolutely adamant that he doesn't want to stay, of course.

  6. Well said that man we should be in no hurry to sell our best player .Whats the point in the fans funding our youth development policy if the fans don't get a chance to watch these players showing their talents in the first team . What s the hurry to be debt free while a lot of teams are up to their neck in debt ,yes we owe money to the two previous owners but it's a debt we seem able to service no problem and our assets are growing every season .The Accies policy of bringing on their youth players and then selling them right away has led to them flirting with relegation every season and not being able to build a side . Let's build a side round Turnbull instead of cashing in on him ,use him to attract a better quality of player to Fir Park yes we might need to spend to accumulate but while we have assets it might just be the way forward

  7. The more I read this thread the more I feel like I'm the only one who wants Turnbull to stay for another season. We're a fan owned club - we aim to break even and put some entertainment on the park. While I support our business model, I might be reconsidering it if it means we sell all our best players before we get a full season out of them. There has to be a balance here. Keeping Turnbull for another season might decrease his value next summer. If he improves again, it might increase his value. If all we want to do is grab cash as soon as we get a whiff of it, we could sell Fir Park for flats and groundshare with Accies.

  8. Ain’t going to happen. Hear the ‘soulless’ comment trotted out regularly by those averse to change - it’s not the concrete & steel construction that creates soul.

  9. Can they set up a separate Hall of Bawbags for Tom Boyd?

  10. Aberdeen are weird. Turn Sam Cosgrove into a goal scoring machine but have the opposite effect on Stevie May and Greg Stewart. So if Main does go to Aberdeen he'll probably get 15 league goals.

  11. Personally I would be happy to retain Johnson for another year, or at least have someone of a similar style in the squad. I accept he's well out things currently and the present set up is not one in which he's likely to flourish but one of our issues in the opening half of this season was that for too long we remained rigid to the same style and often the same personnel within that formation. In much the same way the three-at-the-back eventually ran its course so too will this formation hit limitations, be that through opposition sides nullifying it, players moving on or whatever. We would surely want to retain a player in his mould to provide the necessary variation when the opposition or circumstance dictate. Plenty seem to have accepted that it's a matter of time before he goes but to me he has shown somethingand to me there should certainly be a place in the squad for someone of his style.

  12. 95% staying. Cadden and Hastie not so confident with. Johnson and Donnelly away aswell. Looks likely Aldred will stay too.
