  1. I see Turnbull isn't in the squad, injury?

  2. We are not actually offering to pay him. Just loan him the money to see if he’s still any good.

  3. Not sure why anything that was said means he’s finished. He seems to be making progress, and the club says he’s close to full training, which only puts him a couple of weeks behind the rest fitness wise. Whether he gets his form and confidence back, and whether it affects his ability to play at the top level once fully fit, no one on here can possibly know at this point. So to say he’s done strikes me as being negative for no reason. Im proud to support a club that takes this kind of approach, taking care of a player who was injured on our watch. It is the right thing to do.

  4. Turnbull now has a decision to make regarding a new deal. He can see from what has just transpired that the club are not going to stand in his way when the next big offer comes along. A new longer deal will simply give him a deserved wage increase while we go through the process of getting him fit and healthy before showing what he can do when back in the first team. The deal means that we do not have to rush anything in that process. It basically gives us the upcoming season to get through the operation and get back up to speed. It is also worthwhile noting that he is still only 19. After the disappointment of the deal falling rough, it will do him no harm to realise that there is a club that still wants him and is prepared to put our time and money where our mouth is, and support him as his career develops.

  5. I'm not a doctor, but I'd rather an injured player started training when he was medically fit again after 18 months than make him do full training while he was still injured. (I have no idea if he will make a recovery, but pretty sure he won't make a recovery if we make him train too soon).

  8. Robinson is a proven manager is he ,sacked at Oldham has overseen some the worst football witnessed at Fir Park and if he hadn't been backed into a corner at Xmas we would probably have been relegated and Turnbull and Hastie would have never been heard of again . Typical happy clapper avoiding relegation is success when really we should be aiming higher

  9. As mental as it sounds in this day & age of seeing how quickly a player can be punted, I'd love to see him sign the new deal, play with us for a season or two, then leave with a year on his contract for around £2 million to £3 million.

  10. You're obviously overlooking the experts that post on here who can make insightful diagnoses based on intuition alone.

  11. I take it you have never played football at any level.... You can’t go from 18 months injured to full training straight away. Get a grip man.

  13. It means nothing what he does for northern Ireland at under 21 level.hes barely had a sniff for us in the position he was brought in originally, he can't pass the ball other than 2 yards sideways and it looks likes he pulling a caravan when he's running,I'd rather play grimshaw at defensive midfield and thats saying something.

  14. That (sadly) looks like our first choice team at the moment. Donnelly as our first choice holding midfielder is not going to end well.

  15. You mean thinking about playing him in a position where he has excelled for Northern Ireland U21s?

  16. Not seen anything to convince me that Lasley would be a good manager....yet? So would be a bit of a punt. Craigan maybe, but I'm not sure I could cope with the 10 minute post match interviews again!

  17. It's a smart move on the clubs part I reckon. Gives DT an increased wage for the time when he's recovering, however long that may be, whilst securing the length of the contract for another three years. I've no doubt the club may also be thinking they may be able to get more than the previously agreed £3.25m in future sales, so it wouldn't surprise me if there was a release clause set at £4m.

  18. He shouldn't just be "one of the highest earners at the club", he should be the best paid players at the club my miles. I've obviously not been around for our entire history but he's the best footballer we've had in at least 20 years.

  20. I’m not sure if you are joking or if you didn’t realize I was joking so I think we should ban all joking. (That was a joke, unless of course they are banned)

  21. That would be a crazy good outcome from this whole saga if he signed it.

  22. I see we are still maintaining the tradition of declaring a player as shit before he has kicked a ball for us,

  24. Despite the fact he was going to join Celtic I am genuinely sorry that this has happened to young David Turnbull. It must have been hell for him and his family to suffer such a disappointment and to have it reported and dragged in the media the way it was. I hope the operation is successful and that he makes a full recovery even though we will eventually have to lose him. He's only 19 so will recover quickly and with time on his side he will get his big move. I'm also glad that Motherwell stood up to Celtic in this case and let them see they were not going to be bullied or coerced by them or their sycophantic media. I'm certain David Turnbull will have the full unequivocal support of the club and us the fans and I for one wish him the speediest recovery even though as I say, we will eventually have to lose him.
