  1. I think we will be ok for strikers, Cole , long and a decent run in the team for Johnson , maybe Hilton , so going with 2 up top is an option but only if we have wide players either side with a bit of pace. Would be delighted if we could get Ariybi back and somebody on the opposite side to partner him, so for me 2 wide players with a bit of pace and attacking threat are a must ( ok not asking for much but I live in hope )

  3. Standing at Raydale Park on Tuesday night, you've got to wonder if Brooks Mileson ever thought a town the size of Gretna could support a top flight side. I always thought he came across as a decent guy, but I'm guessing he was on a major ego trip with that one.

  5. Some cards from last season will be getting replaced , some peoples cards will just get re-activated to work again this season it was explained as something to do with the system in the background, where certain 'categories' in the system were getting restructured, to help the business processes from our 5 purchased , I think two were due to get replaced , one a free kid add on and the other a student? Pretty sure the orignal poster in the thread just happened upon another out of date web notice, the sites are riddled with them. for anyone not sure about ticket situation or lost cards, numbers etc , the Club are surprisingly helpful if you ask them .... and you usually get the correct answer or problem solved there and then

  7. We were obviously coasting and I had time on my hands.

  8. I had the same thing when renewing mine back in May and I'm going to phone up and check as I don't have much faith my card will be re-activated otherwise. I've not had any e-mail stating it will be. I know it's a relatively new system but it still needs a bit of work if truth be told.

  9. Given that he smoked 100 fags a day and his main source of nutrition was Lucozade I doubt he had much of a long term outlook on anything.

  10. Apparently after a play off game in 2008 for Stockport Gannon refused to speak to Sky TV after they had failed to fix his sky box at home.

  11. This sketch shows how the obesity problem has escalated in this country. I don’t see one double chin back in 1970. It was also nice to see bjorn borg in the front row turn up to watch a game. Good times!!

  13. Gannon didn’t quite have a clean slate, but IIRC he had only been installed a few days before the Llanelli game at Airdrie and barely had a team as McGhee hadn’t bothered recruiting as he was waiting on his opportunity to leave. On the one hand McGhee completely stitched us up by sitting on his hands all summer, but what would Gannon have done if he turned up with a squad full of McGhee signings and no room to bring in his own guys? Very much the right guy at the right time, maybe a bit of a shame it went south so quickly. (like Barraclough being the right man for play off)

  14. I don't see myself, but I always enjoyed the days when men wore a collar and tie to the match. Brings back some good memories.

  15. A sketch of some fans that I did at Fir Park in 1970 when I was just 7 years old. It brings back good memories of going to watch Motherwell with my dad. Cartridge must have been scarce as I’ve drawn it on graph paper, probably ripped from my school jotter! Anyone recognise anyone from my 7 year old drawing?

  19. That was a very interesting time to be a Well fan. I don’t think we should forget the mess McGhee left behind. The squad had been neglected with McGhee looking elsewhere for some time before he actually left. I still maintain that Gannon ensured our SPL status the following season thanks to his signings alone. We also have to remember that European football was secured the following season thanks to his fair play philosophy. I sometimes wonder, if Jim O Brien had scored that penalty against Rangers could it all have been different. I fear sadly not. There was the potential for a very good manager in there but either he did not want it to work or he simply did not have the tools at the time to make it work. His contribution was greater than many are prepared to acknowledge but I think the same can be said of all the non Scottish managers of the last decade (Baraclough and Robinson being the others). We would not be an SPL team at this time we’re it not for interventions from these men at critical times. Sadly you will get little acknowledgement of that amongst many of the fans at FP.

  20. Old and new regimes still chopping up the clips of goals, you see the build up then suddenly the shot is from behind the goals, you dont see the move being finished off, I am easily annoyed
