issue here is that we then run the risk of not getting any sponsor at all. The sales opportunity that we miss every season though is not having the strips on sale for the summer holidays, our kit is due to come out on the 22nd july, by which time most families have been and gone, kid's are back to school in a few weeks time and the opportunity is missed, you have your people who buy kits religiously but surely aiming to have the kit on sale for to tackle the holiday market has to a priority. on a similar note, if we have the kits on sale for the summer holidays you can then try and get kids kicking a ball down the park in the motherwell top, rather than the rangers top or the celtic top, wee daft things like that are how you get hooked, celebrating a goal pretending you are a David Turnbull.

I've never been into this "find someone to replace X" theory. When we sign new players, we need to play to the strengths of those guys, not try and make them play like their predecessors. Of course you need a basic shape, but as we showed in the 2nd half of last season, that shape should be dictated by the personnel. Many a good player has been wasted by trying to play them out of position.

I liked the instantaneous chant of See-dorf at the second goal then the third went in and everybody going, what one is he, what do we shout, everyone just clapped.

And why not, he’s established himself at this level and done a perfectly acceptable job after Barraclough and McGee. I believe he’s still developing as a manager and has shown he’s willing to change. Along with Foyle they have shown they are able to identify decent players on a tight budget while they have to deal with constantly losing our better players.

Nothing beats a white away kit with flashes of claret and amber. I’ve mocked up many ‘floodlight tops’ over the years and the classic C&A hoop/band is one of my favourites.
