  1. The media team have rightly received great credit in recent years but fan engagement doesn’t appear to be at the centre of the current model. I appreciate I’ll be in the minority but I’ve enjoyed watching the coverage of the u20s since Erwin and Moore were banging them in. Highlights supplemented with interviews from JJ and Craigan offered an insight into the progress of likely prospects waiting to come through. Such was the engagement, it prompted me to head along to the odd game if it fell on a day off. Erwin, Moore, Cadden, Thomas, Campbell and Turnbull were much talked about before breaking into the 1st team. Now beyond Semple (primarily due to the hype at u16 level) and possibly Cornelius through word of mouth, I’m very much in the dark about who’s next in line to make an impression in the first team. The greatest insight on youth development this year was courtesy of the mfc podcast interview with Mo Ross.

  2. not enough interactions, club media channels are only about profile and statistics now, pretty pissed off at it, but said my piece and they are not interested, in what I regard as the basics website is poor , basics keep getting missed, and football match coverage almost non existent, the professionals have won the argument, marketing profile is raised, some viral hits every now and again are enjoyable, probably offers potential for revenue through advertising shame there is no football product to keep customers involved

  3. See the reserves drew 3-3 today with Ross County. Double for Dean Cornelius and one for comeback man Tanner. Tanner also played full 90 mins. Really disappointing coverage by the club however with not a thing mentioned until the end of the game. Piss poor.

  5. Thanks for the link. Quite revealing. So under " Was not seen" every incident in the past 18 months deemed worthy of suspension has been SPL and mostly involving offences against Celtic. Either the lower league referees are eagle eyed/shit hot or the official observer is not doing any referrals. Kind of brings us back to the trial by television angle being supported by hard facts. Now that the Championship is featured each week on the new BBC channel can we look forward to more citings from those games? Time will tell. I do think Caroll merited a red card, but so do many other incidents involving players of every team. The difference? Michael Stewart and Steven Thompson bumping their gums on Sportscene....and the teams involved.

  6. You’ll all stop whining when Reach and Engagement make their first team debuts, then we sell them to Bristol City for a couple of million plus add ons.

  7. The whole thing is a lottery. Sportscene certainly plays a part by selecting which incidents to highlight and make an issue of. But incidents they highlight are not always picked up by the Compliance Officer. From memory a Rangers player being kicked in the head by a Kilmarnock player and a Celtic player (Simunovic?) getting off with a forearm to the face of a Hibs player. Observers also have a role to play, but how impartial are they if it is one of their mates officiating ( or in the case of Andrew Dallas ,the son of a mate)? I would also question whether an observer would be more likely to question an inexperienced referee's judgement rather than that of a more senior official. The old boy network if you like determining the harshness of any official report. But out of curiosity.... and I genuinely can't recall any..... can anybody give examples of lower league players being cited for incidents that happened in non televised games. Particularly where a referee issued a yellow card. if there are none or very few in comparison to Premier League referrrals then that would suggest that either there are no violent tackles in those matches or that TV coverage plays a major role in any decisions to refer.

  8. First time Dean Cornelius headers a ball and we won’t get to see it? Poor show.
