  1. Sorry for the delay in an official club announcement. We will make the game available for free to season ticket holders as we promised. We just have one or two things to tie off before an official announcement. Thanks for your patience.

  2. Robbo is under pressure and rightly so and between his body language on saturday and comments after the game,he looks like he is struggling to find the solution to our problems.granted he has got team selection and substitutions wrong already this season but the players need to be taking there share of the blame,it's there decision making that's been the real problem so far,2 idiotic decisions that led to penalties that have cost us points, grimshaw and ohara daydreaming and losing there man from cross balls has cost us points, donnollys lazy penalty and then half the team were ball watching and allowing livingston to play through us like liverpool has cost us another goal.the manager will always be the first to come under pressure but its high time our players got the finger out and started putting in some performances, were not the greatest side in the world but were much better than what we have served up so far this season.fingers crossed thursday is a turning point for us.

  3. Henderson couldn't get a game at Ross County last season. Developing two young Celtic midfielders rather than Semple and Cornelius will not be well received.

  4. Exactly i hear all this talk about our strikers cant score, they get fcuk all decent ball. Robinson bemoaned strikers not taking advantage of great delivery from Turnbull. Turnbull played well but his corners were just as bad as everyone elses. 18 corners and lucky if two weren't pish. Ill judge our strikers once i see any of them getting decent service

  5. Because he’s an upgrade on any of the strikers that we have at the moment; I agree he’s a total bam but if he can take the chances that we’ve been creating, he’ll do for me.

  6. I'm looking forward to the 'well fans running buses to the piggery to cheer on DT, just like they did when Moult left for PNE... ...for what it's worth, I hope he has a shite time at the stigs...

  7. If he signs for Celtic my interest in him ends. Why would I rejoice in him bringing glory to another Scottish club. For me he will just be another ex Motherwell player. One who I'll never bad mouth or criticise because he played right by us but what he achieves for Celtic is of no interest whatsoever to me.

  8. Right it's Monday afternoon I have had a couple of days to reflect upon the game so here is my assessment Our defence was shambolic really looked like players not understanding systems getting in each other's way Midfield we were on top of the game here but no getting in behind their defence to cross and no one with the vision to play a defence splitting pass, all that was good attacking wise came from midfield. But when a team is forced to shoot from distance somthing is very wrong Attack I have no idea if the attack was any good as it had absolutely nothing to work with only two shots on goal From within the penalty box and one of those was a corner! Robinson needs to start at the back get that working it's the simple things don't play quite so deep in our half control the ball Play it out introduce the two central defenders to each other as they appear to have never meet before they must work together wing backs close the width and midfield help them out when needed goals will come but we need to stop conceding silly goals its still early in the season but we need to turn this around before loosing becomes the new normal

  9. I think making him our record player for returns, when he never seems to want to be here, and pairing him with long up front would at least be good for the banter.

  10. No matter when and where David Turnbull goes, I will thank him for his service and move on. The boy deserves to forward his career and if his choice is Parkhead then fair does to him. I have spoken to him during his rehab and found him to be a level headed determined lad, with the right attitude to progress. He has done the decent thing by the club signing the extension and they did the decent thing by his rehab. In all honestly good luck David wherever you go and I look forward to se you progressing again and running the midfield on the International stage.

  11. A fair summing up. I'm not convinced that our players can play in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

  12. 3 isolated players up front, need more engagement with and from the rest of the team

  13. What, like we did last time they tried to sign him?

  14. So does this mean that Scott McDonald is now free and available to come to our rescue? Anyone got Stephen Pearson's mobile number?

  15. If he is away this week, is there any harm in asking for Griffiths on loan for the year + the £3 million that’s been mentioned, and the 20% sell on, or is that just being greedy??

  16. If anybody knows a reliable goalscorer within our budget, I'm sure they could earn themselves a tasty finders fee. Anyone who complained about Porter, Higdon, Sutton etc. shortly after they arrived need not apply.

  17. Remember we need to pay up Robinsons new contract we gave him that was another fuck up should have been sacked ages ago

  18. If Turnbull is indeed sold this week, it is imperative we also sack Foyle & Robinson asap. The last thing we need is to be spunking any addition to the playing budget on yet more shite that can "play across the front three"

  19. No worries , like it always does life goes on after our favourites leave. David Turnbull has acted perfectly and as a club we owe him an awful lot cause he secures us financially for a season or two. Id guess every Motherwell fans knows that and will act appropriately. Compare him to Hastie and its a world of a difference.

  20. I'll rip out his sticker from my Panini Album of Broken Dreams and burn it in the ashes of the Gary McAllister Euro 96 International Special Edition.

  21. Just a thought. Maybe, just maybe, the team will play better without him. I got the feeling that everything had to go through him on Saturday. Perhaps the others will step up and play more as a team. Then again maybe not.

  22. Appreciated. Nappy wearers and porridge dribblers on here can now rejoice.

  23. Nailed it...yes, the gaffer carries the can, but I didnt hear too many dissenting voices amongst the support with regards to how our squad was shaping up in preseason... ...there are a host of players who need to get their act together

  24. Gillespie, Tait, Carroll, Dunne, Hartley, Heneghan, Johnson, McHugh, Moult, Main, Bowman. A conceivable eleven all signed from League One and below since a director of recruitment was installed to focus on those levels. That's not including Carson, Long, Frear etc. nor Kipre who came higher up from Leicester. Not world beating sure, but enough in there from those individuals to keep the team in the division, get to two Cup Finals that were not to mention any more because we didn't win, a third place finish that seemingly doesn't really count, and helped contribute towards the club moving to a debt free position. But aye, a lot of shite. Get rid of the Director of Recruitment. Don't look for players at that level any more. Can the recruitment be smarter? Absolutely. Have there been bad signings? Definitely. But dismantling the whole set up is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. It's toys out the pram stuff. Here's another eleven. As signed by the greatest modern day manager in Motherwell's recent history, some say. Took us to third too. Kept us in the division. Even won that Cup that thirty years later they still talk of. Still managed to sign every single one of this lot though along the way. Gardiner, Sneddon, Murray, Maaskant, Jones, Shanks, Caughey, McCabe, Baker, Shepstone, McLeod

  25. Campbell, Turnbull, Hastie, Scott and Maguire are all Scotland U21 internationalists that have played for Motherwell over the last two years. That's five alone. McKinstry and McAlear have been snapped up by an English Premiership side and one that twelve months down the line was. They are two of the players that would likely be added to that list. Off the top of my head, and whilst their numbers may have been limited Livingstone, Devine, Cornelius, MacLean and Semple have all come through the youth system and played in the first team over the last two or three years. The players that have come through the Academy and played over the last three years could quite conceivably generate something like £10,000,000 in tranfers and add-ons. I think your constant banging the drum for youth development is noble but you are miles out in terms of what has already been delivered by the Academy and to repeat my response when you made much the same point a week ago, I think it is unrealistic bordering on the naive to expect eleven youth team players who are first team ready to slot in at a moments notice.

  26. Costs To develop are prohibitive yet purchase of the land Taggarts have vacated will be of benefit? Would take years to realise any. Unsure a car park instead of the community facility aids redevelopment either - residential developing is to reduce traffic in that locale. New East Stand can’t be built on its current footprint, it’s the reason we have seats affixed to an existing terracing. I’d advocate a move, but, times & society has changed immeasurably. I think opportunity has long since passed us by. Progressing the club from foundations up for me.
