  1. Aye You are right enough. Last season when he scored 11 and had 9 assists even tho the season was cut short, I do remember thinking "I like him, but why would we want to sign a goalscoring, multiple assists a season winger when we have Seedorf & Hylton"

  2. They're reminding clubs not to over celebrate goals. How much more compliant could we be?

  4. Good player and signing. Will walk straight into the team. Knows the club and will give 100% for the cause. Welcome back Stevie.

  5. Fuck the top6.. if he helps keep us in the top10 this season I'll be happy

  6. What people seem to be forgetting here is that both club admitted multiple breaches of the covid protocols resulting in most of their 1st team squads having to isolate. However both teams still had at least 13 registered players available to play and as per the UEFA guidelines that the clubs signed up to so they should have played both games with the weakened sides as did Celtic this week. However both of them blatantly ignored the guidelines and chose not to play and then tried to blame advice from their local NHS Trust, so in my opinion the 3-0 forfeits are totally warranted and appropriate.

  7. Shocking decision but as has been said on here, why are we surprised. Here’s an interesting (but probably fanciful) thought - why not ask both Killie and St Mirren to identify which players would have been available on the dates of the original fixtures and only select these players for the rescheduled games. It’ll never happen but would help protect sporting integrity

  8. The irony of which of course being Campbell and Maguire had to miss games as a consequence of being on an SFA trip!

  9. The decision doesn't bother me, and I'd rather watch the games. However, the process is a shitshow and should have been handled within a week of the issue. The games could have been played already.

  10. The "didn't cut it last time" chat is a bit misleading. How many players need to take a step down as a young player to then make the step back up again? The captain of the national team springs to mind.

  11. Welcome (back) to Motherwell, Stevie Lawleff

  12. Oh come on. Someone has been at worst been a steady player in the top flight for more than half a decade and who hit double figures in his last season in the top flight isn't "piss poor".

  13. What do we have to appeal though? We were under no threat of sanction. I tend to agree with the earlier posts that whilst we have been considerably inconvenienced the best course of action for us it to keep our counsel, at least publicly, and ensure that six points from six are secured when the fixtures are eventually played. If the club make a song and dance about it and you just stand to be accused of showing desperation in trying to get six points without earning them. I think it's fine as fans for us to make the obvious points but much as we've been messed around we would ultimately gain nothing from any public complaining.

  15. Funny that Dave. I said the very same earlier today. If I had the money. My worry is that despite us being mucked about somehow Killie and St Mirren will still be seen as the victims here. Their fans and officials will still be claiming injustice right up to the day of the games despite the fact they fucked up and have been given a get out of jail card free. My worry is their players will be even more pumped by this decision than our players.

  16. The official site has him returning in February. Updated just before Christmas, so you’d hope just a few more weeks. Realistically won’t be contributing to game as we’d like him until into March/April I think, as you’d expect after being out for as long as he has.

  17. Imagine if one of their staff had become seriously ill or died after the breach? The SPFL might have added another £5k to their fine.

  18. I’d love to say it’s an unbelievable verdict but nothing should surprise us in Scottish football. Admit to COVID breaches and get a 10k fine rather than play a reserve team and almost certainly give up 3 points, I know which I’d choose! Bet Celtic are raging they bothered to play a weakened team earlier this week, the 10k fine would be far preferable, especially for a club with their finances. As some have said we need to try and use this to our advantage, to motivate the team into getting themselves out of the shit that we are most definitely in!

  19. Shambolic but it is what it is. We need to move on and concentrate on taking the six points when the two games are actually played.

  20. And rightfully so. I hope we utilise it. I wouldn't be surprised to see Celtic scrambling to get tomorrow's game called off. £10k is a small price to pay in their circumstances.

  22. Refuse to play 2 hours prior to kick off on Sunday, so not to prolong the agony.

  23. The never return/not good enough the first time chat is a mile off imo. At the time he was a young lad trying to break through in a team vying for 3rd place, and the rewards that would bring, and which featured some very good, established senior players in his position. No manager would unsettle their starting 11 unnecessarily in that position to blood a youngster. Game time for him was always going to be limited in that scenario, so he rightly moved elsewhere that he would be a first pick. I'm not saying for a minute that he's as good now as those players he was playing second fiddle to back then, but our team and the league in general has regressed in quality over the intervening years. At our level, at this moment in time it is a decent, and I would assume low cost deal.

  24. The clubs least likely to be impacted are the Old Firm. And, remember, calling the league impacted Aberdeen (who could easily argue they lost out on 3rd place money) and Rangers (who argued less convincingly, they still had a shot at the league title). But that decision stood. More importantly, nobody has suggested teams forfeit games for Covid outbreaks. That wasn't the issue here. The core issue was that Killie and St Mirren knowingly and flagrantly ignored the protocols that the Scottish Government asked be put in place when they granted them special permission to restart the league. So not only did they intentionally put their employees at risk, and the employees of other clubs at risk, they also opened the door for the Government to shut down the game completely.

  25. That decision didnt affect the Old Firm. Imagine Rangers get hit with a horrendous outbreak and are forced to forfeit or play their U18s for 3 games, losing all of them and suddenly they start bottling the title race! There would be blood spilt.(yes I know Celtic currently have an issue, but they are only missing a couple strikers & a cd from their best team) May just be my suspicious mind, but I have no faith in the SPFL/SFA ever doing the right thing

  26. So what ! I am basing my comments on my belief he will be a good addition to the squad. That and it is even more annoying to see comments effectively writing off a player before he is even a few minutes in the door. That will always annoy me. You don’t like it .....fine by me.

  27. Its not a "sexy" signing. But Lawless is better than Hastie & Seedorf combined so he automatically strengthens our squad. Quite happy with this signing. I was dissappointed we never got him in the summer. Was fantastic for Livvy last season

  28. Lawless was very impressive for Livi last season and up there with Dykes as a player they did not want to lose. He caused us a ton of problems at their place, they were gutted to lose him. I can’t see this as anything other than a very decent signing.

  29. Fairly happy with this. High energy levels and will get us up the park quicker. Always hated playing against him.

  30. Theres no way the "powers" in Scottish Football have the backbone to stand by their decision. Both games will be replayed, bet Your house on it. I just hope all paper articles are pinned to the dressing room wall, we are fired up to fuck and go out + pump the cheating cunts by 3 or 4 anyway. Fuck Killie & Fuck St Midden

  31. Agreed. I always remember thinking that he looked pretty decent, and wondered why he had been let go.

  32. I must admit, I don't remember him having many bad games when he played against us for Partick or Livi. So let's give him a chance.

  35. They say you should never Return to an old club . Didn't fancy him first time around seen no reason to bring him back ,did anyone ever think watching him playing with other teams I wish he was back at FP ?

  36. Piss poor. I'm struggling to see him as a nail on starter which is exactly what we are crying out for. We need leaders.
