  1. Jordan White made most of us lose our smile, so it's only fair.

  3. Good on his old man, shouldnt be a one way street, might be inclined to do the same, if he was my lad. .twitter is a bit toxic tbf , a lot of self righteous people on it who've never done a lot. Bit like steelmen online lol.

  4. just to check, we now shouldn't be signing anyone from; - anything below the Championship in England - anything below the top flight in Scotland - teams 3 places above above us in the Premiership table?

  5. Could the usual suspects please lay off Sam Foley until we have seen him play? A major gripe by many on here is that we are a young inexperienced side who dont know how to manage and see out games properly. We are badly in need of some experienced pro's to help us out of this relegation dogfight. Ive no idea if Sam Foley is that guy, I cant say as Ive payed him much attention any time we played St Mirren, however, given that its a short term deal and our options are limited, I dont see what the risk is and will judge him on his performances for us.

  6. You can't just post that an ex player's wife and maw are on Twitter arguing with people, we need links god dammit!

  7. I did not see the Twitter beef but perhaps we wouldn't be in this situation if Jordan White wasn't pish at fitba.

  8. It's the "wage thief" nonsense that I don't get. If he was on a 3 year contract and playing in the reserves to see out his deal, I would get it. You might not like him as a player, but if a manager plays him 36 times in a season where we finished 2nd in the league, I'll need convincing he was thieving anything.

  9. So many things wrong with the goal..least of all for kelly..hes managed to get a hand on a one on one from 12 yards..cant expect anymore than that..and im nit picking here with mugabi..he eased his run back, expecting gallacher to win it..if he'd continued his run back he would've been goal side of hylton im sure.but massive praise for the goal.and how we had 2 fullbacks so far up the park leaving dec n bevis isolated beats me..small margins i jnow but its easlly fixed Onwards and upwards

  10. 100%, there's not a lot between everyone outside the old firm so things like confidence and belief are half the battle. I think if we'd held on against United on boxing day it would have been enough to turn us around. I know a lot here will disagree and say that a turnaround couldn't occur without a change in manager, we'll never know if that's true.

  11. Totally 100% agree ya bezzer it winds me up. I see it all the way down at boys football where a simple 10 yard pass from a player that keeps the ball and opens up pitch doesn't get any reaction but someone charges in and kicks ball out park gets big well done . Its reason campbell gets as much praise on here also but let's be honest his passing and awareness and shooting are miles behind Maguire but as he is busy about pitch he gets a lot of plaudits. Football is simple in that if you have the ball other team cant score but a lot of players dont want the ball coz they are scared and that is worrying. Top players are always available for the ball as well as always charging about the park.

  12. ........and relax!!! Great win and just might represent a turning point in the mentality of the team. On Alan Campbell, he needs a rest. I read that Callum McGregor at Celtic has played more minutes in the last few seasons than any other outfield player in Europe. His performances have been going backwards as a result. Given Campbell’s U21 commitments, he cannot be far behind. I have read a few comments about Polworth too. He is a good player. I would rather see him in our team as not. He made a mistake on Saturday. It happens particularly under the circumstances the team finds itself in. A motivated Polworth is an asset to this team. Hopefully GA can work his magic. Another huge game next week. Deep breath...

  13. Barry Maguire sometimes looks so clumsy but at the same time manages to keep the ball so well. Case and point for one of the goals tonight, he gives the ball away needlessly in midfield, is lucky that it bounces right back to him, and then he pirouettes away from his man effortlessly and sets up an attack. He's definitely got potential, and I'd like to see us keep that midfield 3 tonight with Maguire staying in ahead of that fud Polworth.

  20. Like saying you don't throw players under the bus then blaming a young sub for the draw at Tannadice? Watch yerself Dean Cornelius, here comes the 240.

  21. That was a squad that I think also included John Gardiner, John Reilly, Derek Murray and Gordon Mair. So he was in good company.

  23. That's kinda embarrassing for the lad. If I was completely shite at a job I was paid (relatively) handsomely for and effectively ended up getting my jotters, I think the last think I would be wanting is my misses causing unnecessary kerfuffles all over social media highlighting how hard done by I had been, thereby inviting all and sundry to bombard her (and by extension, me) with further proof of just how shite I'd been at said job. Hypothetically speaking, of course.

  25. I sometimes wonder if either of his two disallowed goals had counted, whether that could have made difference to White's Motherwell career. Maybe not, but there came a point where he started playing like a guy who knew he was wearing the number 9 shirt and hadn't scored yet. Maybe it would have been the worst thing to have happened and we'd have persevered with a guy that wasn't good enough longer. Feels a bit like Alex Fisher all over again....

  26. well we will agree to disagree, ok he played games but how many in his last season did he miss with his career threating back injury ? he wanted back up the road , made it known to the club then played on it , but went back to the fresh highland air and healed up , end of my rant, yes i dont like him , not as a player, but as a person and i dont think i am the only one on here i could say steelboy doesnt like him, but heh_ hoo he doesnt like anybody

  27. I love the optimism, and we should approach the game in that manner, hopefully the result against Rangers gives us some belief that we can go there and cause what would be an upset. feels as though whenever we play Celtic they have 4 shots on target and bury every one of them. anyway, lets enjoy the win and concentrate on what is a winnable game on wednesday.

  28. In the position now where its in our own hands and we just need to match results of those below us to stay up. So some comfort there. Like Maguire in midfield. Composed head and generally retains the ball and finds a pass. Kelly also massive for us. The difference a safe pair of hands makes is huge. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

  29. Ffs, we won a huge match, doing something we hadnt managed to do for 14 months. Instead of celebrating, the first thing some folk want to do is point score using the power of hindsight and MY post is the bad one? Aye ok My post was 100% correct, on this message board there are people who make negative/frustrated posts (of which I can be one) but there are just as many absolutely desperate to score points with the "I told you so" / "oh, this aged well" hindsight bollocks. Heres a novel idea, just enjoy the fucking win?

  30. How pleasant to start the day, any day, on the back of a win the day before. It's been a while. And it was deserved too. I thought we started pretty well and were largely dominant before conceding a bit of a howler. From Campbell losing possession deep in their half, to Gallagher's poor attempt at a challenge to to Kelly allowing the ball to squirm away for a tap in, all could have done better. And I think everyone saw the effect that had on them. A Cole save at short range apart, despite a healthy advantage on corners and possession, nothing much to write home about in the first half. It was encouraging how the second half was opened. You sensed a real determination to get back into it and County were being hemmed in. With each chance, or half chance that passes, you become ever more fearful we're not going to get anything but what a relief when the equaliser came and the confidence that brought that they could go on and win it. A fantastic header for the winner, one or two edgy moments aside as County went for it, we saw it out pretty well. It was one of those all too rare occasions where you couldn't help but be impressed by the character and desire shown, and given the utter pummelling some of them took from County players, their temperament too. There will be tired bodies after last night's efforts and a couple of the more lengthy away journeys back-to-back but I can't help feel a little disappointed that we don't have the chance to immediately build some momentum against a team that you might imagine will be in a state of shock after their result last night. But the immediate, pressing crisis has been averted, for the moment and there is now something tangible for us to build on. A great night's work by all concerned.

  31. Tell you what, having supported the 'Well nigh on 30 years, seen it so often the quick turnaround in performances. Granted, it is still a big if, but IF we can take 3 points from United next week, then we're going into the Celtic game on a huge confidence boosting high. It would not surprise me in the slightest then to take 1, if not 3, points off them, which would be absolutely massive for our season. Last nights result really needs to be a platform to build on.

  35. I know someone who doesn't get to see the games, and when there was talk about players not trying or having an attitude problem, Watt was the first name he came up with. A real shame that kinda stuff hangs around, he's been by far our most consistent performer and a great example of what the fans are looking for.

  39. Win on Saturday and we are 3 points behind 6th place with a game in hand and a better goal difference. Not bad for a team that was relegated at half time tonight by the usual suspects on here.

  43. Our loanee striker could/should take note of Tont Watt. Granted he's only here for the short term but he could learn a lot by emulating the work effort of a guy busting his box in up until he was subbed. The big fella ambling about despite being fresh on the pitch while Tony is sprinting to close the angle on the far side of the pitch for their full back I hope draws the attention of the gaffer in the post match analysis. Cole is 3 from 4 games, those are Louis at his peak numbers ...... Glad to see the fringe guys take their chances.

  44. I must admit that feel good feeling has been a long time coming, very sweet now it’s arrived. I didn’t see the game so can’t comment but it has to be a huge confidence boost for the team. The margin between success and failure in most games this season has just been so small, so many teams that are all of a similar standard and even a couple of changes in personnel can swing it in anyone’s favour. The other massive thing is confidence, we don’t have a terrible squad, we never did but confidence had dropped and you can see that starting to turn around. Maybe Cole is now showing he’s the guy to score those goals alongside the hardworking Watt. I know Carroll is not everyone’s cup of tea but my god it’s good to have him back and thankfully we now have a reliable goalkeeper. I hold my hand up regarding Mugabi who is improving game on game ( who would have thought a professional coaching staff knew more than the likes of me). I like McGuire but have had my doubts about him in midfield, hey maybe I’m also wrong about that but would still like to see another midfield brought in, at least until Donnally returns and I see the signing of Lawless as another positive. I’ve still absolutely no doubt we can get out if this ( but then I still think we would have under Robinson). What I will say is Alexander is coming across really well and I like the amount of support he’s giving to the players in his interviews, yes you can argue he’s talking up the performances but it has to be giving the players a lift.
