  1. Screw the "best of the rest" league and the split skewing the data, read the "Last 6" stats and weep.

  2. I think I have decide that if the ball is played in front of him he is a world beater, if it is played up to him with his back to goal it is like firing it off a wall.

  4. Overall very happy with today's outcome. We deserved to win but made it hard for ourselves. Pleasingly we tried to play football, rather than hoofball. Cole and Foley were our stars I'd say. At times though, especially in the second half as Killie came at us, our midfield went AWOL. As Stevie Kirk remarked that was up to Lamie and moreso Gallagher, as captain, to kick the butts of our midfielders and force them out of our box, whether they wanted to go or not. We had some nice touches up front but the final ball was often lacking. We were a bit slow, as FirParkCorner exile, says to tighten up when Burke came on. Still a good day. Academic maybe, but hopefully, McGinley can appeal his yellow card.

  5. Better today, a better balance about the team and actually trying to play football rather than the pointless hoof ball constantly giving possession away. Foley played well. Understandably 2nd half saw us pushed back as Kilmarnock knew the scores in the other matches so kind of threw caution to the wind. That said we were slow to try and nullify Burkes crosses into the area and on another day could have cost us dear. Two good goals and some entertaining football . Right team selection , good result.

  6. Decent enough performance considering it wasn't that meaningful for us in the grand scheme of things. All too easy to let your performance drop in those circumstances. It did happen for some short periods, but considering Killie knew they were fighting for survival, we kept them quiet where it counted. Staying in seventh in our own hands now, and would be a good result given how our form was earlier in the season. And another clean sheet.

  7. Great performance and result today. At 3pm, the team maybe didn't look as expected but by full time, they'd done as good a job as seen all season. Nullified Lafferty to half-chances and but for a better touch and ball in the final third, we could have had four or five. Foley played his part really well, didn't put a foot wrong and looked like he'd been a part of the midfield all season. Cole's finish for the first and set-up for the second were sublime. As galling as it is to have had such a poor season, it now looks likely that we could finish the season with more points than the teams in 6th and 5th. - level with St Johnstone and Livingston with an "easier" run in. Job done, on to the next one.

  8. Fair play to O'Donnell for not celebrating against his former club. #classy

  9. To some extent, yes, but in the fullback position we very rarely close the ball, hardly ever preventing a cross.

  10. We seldom get to the final ball because the short passing is so poor

  11. I would imagine you're correct. We struggled to get a hold of the ball the last two times we played them when they packed the midfield with five and we persisted with the three. Hopefully we see a decent performance and result. I'm still annoyed by the abandoned game so I hope we make it as uncomfortable as possible and put them back in the keech.

  12. Lineup is a strange one, looks like 442 to me.. Kelly O'Donnell Galkagher Lamie McGinlay Lawless Foley Campbell Hastie Cole Long Unless he's going with the wacky Lawless in a midfield three idea again. Frankly the selection of Hastie given the relative unimportance of the game is bizarre...

  13. If GA and the coaching team don't think cornelius and Devine are ready for the 1st team for the last 35 games, why should they be played for the last 3 just because we are safe. The harsh fact that people seem to forget is that these players might just not be good enough for the 1st team. We should be playing our strongest available team in every game, 7th is the highest we can finish so that's what the target should be. Motherwell have a good record of giving young players who are ready to step up their chance, but for every Turnbull, Pearson, Faddy etc there are lots more who won't be good enough at this level.

  14. Wheesht, when I read Andy's post I saw it as him not drawing equivalence on the player or their contribution, it highlighted how fans may have a rule of one and another based on their future in C&A and current popularity. It was consistency of viewpoint not marred in prejudice nor affection he was highlighting. If you can't see it objectively as that then you should follow your own advice. As for Declan, covered it already. He has enhanced the squad in his time here. I wish him no ill will and that he gets the move he is blatantly desperate for and feels he deserves, I can't ask anything of a player I wouldn't want in my own career. I doubt I'll clap him upon his return but unlikely I will give him it tight him unless he acts the smart arse which is a 60-40 chance knowing how lippy he is. If Reynolds who left under good terms, for OK money, outside Scotland, being academy graduate and local lad gets boo'd returning for Aberdeen then I may be in the minority. His actions in January means he's now in the Tom Boyd camp rather than the Louis Moult one of ex-players. I wish Campbell all the best, I hope his eventual move to being among better players allows him to flourish. He recently featured as 1 of 4 on a SPFL starlets youtube article (3m 40s). The guy has 420k subscribers so I guess some influential people down south may have been alerted if not already. He's watched all his contemporaries leave (Scott, Hastie and Turnbull) for massive wage increases while he shows up at FP with the milkman, put 150 games under his belt and has been by-and-large consistent. He has regressed a bit but tell me someone who hasn't other than Watt this term.

  15. Getting rid of the plastic in the top flight is the main thing for me regardless of the club. Never seen a really good game at Accies or Livi.
