  1. Have to say that's one of the best penalty saves I've seen

  2. Did what we needed to do today so can’t complain. Annan were always going to sit in and it was down to us to break them down and we managed it. I like the look of van Veen, he just needs that first goal. Plenty of work rate and looks like a good front player.

  3. That was a training game today 2-0 probably should have scored at least another 2, Annan offered feck all the whole game, the result was never in any doubt, we have won the group to progress, and you are still feckin moaning get a grip ffs

  4. Alexander's comments about too much work for the players feeling like an excuse. If he is actually concerned about the compressed schedule put on some youngsters. there will never be a more oppertune time. Stephen O'Donnell for Max Jphnstone seems like an obvious sub.

  5. Sorry to spoil the party, but we are shite. We don’t look like a premier league side

  6. It’s a “brilliant” signing to be fair to the club

  7. Exactly They're all at different stages of physical fitness and match fitness. Some fans expecting them to hit the ground running and pump everything in front of them. Some even saying we're relegation material ffs. They forget this is a team essentially with a new forward line and it will take time for things to click although some promising signs today towards the end of the first half and the second half. With more quality signings still to come in I think we'll be fine.

  8. Kelly stops the penalty and the ref's both teams to score bet.

  9. Surely an opportunity now to give someone on the bench some gametime?

  10. Job done but being critical I think we have been bang average against the poorest side in the group. Early in season yes but soooo many misplaced passes and long balls that have gone absolutely nowhere. Why would u not want to try and play football at 2-0 up. Distribution from defence has been woeful. Anyway looks like we have got thru to play a seeded side. A big improvement required if we have any chance of an upset. Dundee would be the best draw we could get.

  12. I think both Van Veen and Woolery will prove to be good signings but look a wee bit rusty with their touch. Once they play more together I’m hoping they will develop into a very good combination for us. With Watt joining in there we could have a pretty dangerous attack. Unfortunately balanced by a pretty dangerous defense but hope that will get fixed.

  13. It's got literally nothing to do with the opposition at all, it's not to try and be unpredictable or otherwise. It changes the angle you're able to deliver the ball into the box at, and as GazzyB said above it forces them to pull 2 defenders out of the area that we're trying to find space in. If we handed a note into the away dressing room before the game and told them we were going to do that with every corner, it would still change the angle, and they would still have to pull defenders out the box. It's got nothing to with anyone knowing.

  14. By definition experienced players and leaders will be playing at a good level, well established and regular starters for their teams so tend not to be either released by their clubs or made available for transfer, and if they were we could not afford them anyway. The only way an " unknown young prospect" as you put it gets experience is by clubs like us giving them a chance , we've done it for years not everyone was a success but that's the way it goes. Out of interest who would you have us go for with the 1. The qualities you want 2. Is available and wants to come to Fir Park 3. We can afford them transfer and wage wise?

  15. I’ve always been a fan of Odoffin who has performed very well in the league in an otherwise crap accies side. Ali Crawford is another I’d realistically like to see at fir park

  16. On paper looks to be good and exciting signing. He would certainly have to be good on the ball to be in any england underage squad as well as being at Southampton academy. Here's hoping he doesn't think it's going to be easy up here as he will soon find out it isn't. These are type of signings I have always felt we should be going for (released from epl or even our big 2) at a gd age however I dont know the financial situation to do this and I always thought they must be out our range. With o'connor in from Leicester and now slattery its 2 who have been around top players day in day out. Some experience now to go alongside them such as the Finnish boy mentioned would seem to be good business. On the pitch will tell it's own story as ever.

  17. So we’ve taken what is effectively a punt on another unknown young prospect with a lack of game time. We desperately need leaders and experience

  20. The important distinction, for me, is between additions to the squad and guys specifically brought in as first team players. They've got to be the latter at this point.
