  1. Would that be the same hospital admissions in Scotland that have doubled since Christmas, large numbers of staff not at work due to covid, positive case numbers that are pretty much doubling every 2 or 3 days and you want no restrictions on people mixing and turning football matches into super spreader events.....stop talking shite.

  2. They beat us in our last three cup final appearances so if you are serious about us ever lifting a trophy again then yes they are. An upgrade despite the fact you've never seen him play?

  3. Do you actually engage your brain before you post ....so stopping hundreds of thousands of football fans mixing at and travelling to and from matches with no social distancing etc won't reduce the transmission and spread of covid ok then

  4. Likewise I don't give a flying fuck how ex players get on. They don't play for us so I'm totally disinterested.

  5. Current restrictions are a nonsense, as an example the commercial night club in Wishaw was shut through the bells but pubs were given a late license until 2am. Pubs were very busy with youngsters enjoying themselves as they would have in the nightclub minus the dancing. From what I’ve been told very little social distancing. edit: I’m on drugs that suppress my immune system but my kids (fully vaccinated) were both out that night and I wouldn’t have thought of stopping them. Personal choice I know but going to the football should be the same.

  6. Developing players for Celtic gives me the dry boak at the best of times, nevermind when there is next to no financial reward. He will be unavailable to play against said club. I often doubt the commitment of players that play in the same league. Will he stunt the development of Cornelius? I dont think it's fair on the player himself...look at the treatment of Gilmour at Norwich, the fall guy of the fans

  7. With the Edinburgh teams, Aberdeen and United ramping up financially by the looks of things, this might be our best chance to finish Top 4 for a few seasons. To those ends, I don't really have a problem with us bringing in some short term quality, regardless of the source.

  8. They kept us locked down for 9 months from a 3 week circuit breaker so I have to disagre with you there. The current restrictions are not an attempt to control the virus. You can go the gym, cinema, pub, restaurant and have a big party in your house. There were weddings over the festive period. These restrictions are a political move to be seen to be doing something and the targets as they were back in the Thatcher era are football fans and dance music.

  9. Not at all I am sure the Scottish government won't want restrictions in place any longer than they need to be, so if the advice they get from the experts says no need for crowd limits after 17/1 then I'm sure they will act accordingly. What gets me though is the number of posters on here that think that going to a football match, or the pub or a nightclub etc is more important than trying to control a highly transmissible virus that kills people and leaves others with serious long term health issues.

  10. Hospital admissions are increasing because people are being admitted for other reasons and testing positive for asymptomatic Covid. The ICU number is currently 42. The figures from England show that sporting events make no difference. Anyone who genuinely believes that stopping football matches which are attended by less than 2% of the population for a few hours a week will reduce transmission has little grasp on Covid or arthimetic. Pushing people from an outside activity towards inside activities probably increases transmission overall.

  11. Numbers rising isnt the be all and end all. Hospital admissions, admissions to ICU and deaths will govern what happens next. If they dont rise, there will be no justifucation to limit outdoor gatherings.

  14. I'm not particularly looking for you to say anything, I'm just highlighting that it's not the case that Watt has performed like this before only to drop away. He's never shown this kind of form and willingness to work before. He basically existed on one goal against Barcelona for years. I certainly hope he falls away though, that's for sure. United are a competitor, and as much as I'm chuffed for him that he's landed a good financial deal I don't wish him any luck professionally, as it would likely be to our detriment.
