  2. I genuinely can't wrap my head around folk not rating Slattery. You can see from his technical ability why he was so highly rated in the Southampton/England setups but he doesn't seem to have came up with any pretensions either and does more than his fair share of the unglamorous stuff. I think he's been an upgrade on Allan Campbell.

  3. Motherwell legend Hugh Ferguson and his wife photographed with the FA Cup in 1927. Hugh scored the only goal for Cardiff City against Arsenal in the final at Wembley as the FA Cup left England for the first and to date, only time.

  4. I think that all that Rangers' tosh dates back to this incident. I should archive it but can't be bothered: https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2839697/ryan-jack-cedric-kipre-rangers-motherwell-tackle-blast-wreck-career/ Oh, the irony of that wee stumer complaining about a bad tackle! Big Ced was hard but fair and is far too good for The Hens. It seems to be A Thing with their fans, though: I even got chinned about it at a Burns Supper once a random True Blue discovered that I supported MFC. Admittedly, I made things worse by saying I didn't even know who Ryan Jack was but Kipre was already a legend. Cue much gnashing of teeth. They're a strange bunch, soantheyare...

  5. I was looking through some of the European leagues and I noticed our old foe Nancy have been relegated to the third tier of French football. Levante were also relegated to Liga 2. When you consider Flamurtari have also been relegated, Kuban, Mypa and Katowice have all been liquidated, Panathinaikos are a shambles and Steaua have been splintered into two teams I think it's safe to say no one will want to draw us in the competition!

  7. Sorry, I wasn’t laughing at your statement that he was the best footballer at the club - he may be. It was more that if he is, then it’s an indictment on the standard of player on our books. I’m no fan of our current manager but I think the reason he has persevered with his hoofball tactics this season is that he realises we don’t have any decent midfield players.

  8. Not often a player comes into a club from outwith the area and immediately "gets it". Grimmy was one of those guys and its sad to see him go, but he wasnt going ro get a lot of gametime moving forward, so he goes with our best wishes and he is welcome back anytime.
