  1. Must have something about him if Gary Neville regrets getting shot of him...wonder of GA would've lasted longer at Valencia...?!
  2. Agree that "Alexanderball" certainly doesn't appear to be the most exciting I've seen in my time watching 'Well, but going back to where we were when he came in, we were on a one way ticket to the Championship, for God knows how long. He steered us in the right direction away from that, and so far, he has, by hook or by crook, utterly shit-fested 7 points from 12. Is he the long-term, frankly I doubt it, but so far, we're in a better place than we were this time last year. Christ knows the position we would be in had Robbo still been here...but I'm confident we wouldn't even be debating the merits of a wanky three points gained against Dundee, given we would've passed them by on the way down / up.
  3. As someone alluded to the other day, I think his comedic histrionics set him aside for particularly affectionate praise, but I don't honestly recall Dyskstra being that massively great back in the day to be honest, certainly not the levels remembered on here by some. Perhaps those who came and went before have pictured him in a higher regard due to the immediate comparisons.
  4. Reading on the beeb site, Big Dec giving away a penalty today at Hearts. Shame, feel for him.
  5. Exactly - give it 10 years, Hibs will have been relegated again........we on the other had... We'll be, mid-to-low table, complaining how we've missed on targets going to our direct competitors as we head into season 2031/32...!
  6. Is "Arsenal Insider" Stephen O'Donnell's Twitter handle by any chance?
  7. I'm that pissed right now, I can't even mind what thread I'm posting on Anyway, just reading the threads of late. It's mental how, in my time supporting since late 80's, the odd (really) bad season aside, we've generally floated between the top 3 to 6, or between the bottom 7 to 10, without being massively at perilous risk of the drop, league reconstruction aside. That said, the last few seasons, as a fan who hasn't been to the games as much as previous and would like, Covid aside, I can't help but think there's a massive over estimation of what is expected from a Motherwell team in this period. We won a cup in 1991. Prior to that was 52...(54?)...sorry can't mind right now. We've had a few finals since, all to the top team(s) in the country at the time. Folks are comparing us to St. Johnstone last season. Every small / provincial team in every league in every country could do that. They had a team, manager and set of circumstances come together that was a once in a lifetime situation. I'm 47, I could live to be 147 and that will never happen again. That aside, us, we want the best of what we can achieve as a team. After a small glimmer from the Hibs game to kick the season off, it's reverted back to type. Where's it gonna end...I'll admit, I bought into the GA hype at the start...I'm still there, I'm still onside, but the weekly wankword bingo soundbites after every game are getting tedious. Think I'm just annoyed that my Scottish Cup Winners bet is looking farcical already and it's only the second week of the season!!
  8. Be careful here...Yogi Hughes still hasn't got another post since leaving Ross County... Just sayin'...!
  9. Is there a Latin word for "Rollercoaster"...?!
  10. Maicon must be about 57...!?
  11. That was a massive sliding doors moment...had we been relegated that season, just got to wonder how long we would have bobbed around the First Division trying to get back up...could've been another yo-yo club the likes of Dundee, Hamilton, Thistle etc., the last near 20 years or so...
  12. My big Ayr United supporting mate lost his mum suddenly during the week...he'll be watching the game tonight with his dad, having a few beers. Football is only a game, but tonight it might help put a wee smile on his face and give them both a very small element of respite, after an incredibly tough week for the family.
  13. Bollocks, the Old Firm would be top 6 EPL easily....!!! Well, so their fans keep telling us...!!
  14. Is Jason Leitch also Declan Gallagher's agent by any chance...?!
  15. Personally, I would say that there's as much chance of that as there is success from an Ernie Walker / Henry McLeish style "Think Tank"...!
  16. Maybe it is time for another Ernie Walker / Henry McLeish style "Think Tank" that provided so much success after previous tournament trouncings...?!
  17. Been like that for a while if you ask me. Poor imitation nowadays of a once very good forum. First sense of disagreeing with someone very often leads to arguing / personal insults. Pretty embarrassing from some posters to be honest.

I've already posted on this thread to offer my condolences. It's been strange here, thinking since this thread was posted, we're not going to see any more AndyP posts...strange isn't the word I'm after...but he was such a frequent, eloquent, and dare I say, important poster on this forum...a calming voice whenever posts were getting heated, personal or whatever....as I said before, I never knew the guy, but he'll certainly be missed on here.
  19. I done one of those years ago... 94% Scottish, 3% Irish, 3% Norwegian. One of my ancestors was pillaged by a Viking...!!
