  1. Think we all know who they are. It'll be a typical cup tie against lower league opposition who will be hyped up to the max by wee Imrie. All down to our attitude on the night and getting out the starting blocks early. An early goal would be nice.
  2. Just a wee heads up to roadworks being done (from P&B) Give yourself a little extra time to get there. Scottish water have been doing work on the main road just before Cappielow and it can get backed up pretty far, especially with a larger than normal crowd expected
  3. Having watched County's last 2 games they actually looked not too bad on the ball and I was fully expecting a hard midfield shithouse type of game. Maybe the early goal settled us and you could see the confidence begin to rise as the half progressed. Forward instead of sideway passes, shots from distance, things we've been screaming out for. County were shite but maybe because we made them look like that? Just keep wondering how many more we might have scored if we had played 2 strikers but that's only a cherry on the cake thinking. The team will be coming into training with a wee bit extra spring in their steps which can only be good.

    The Pitch

You could be right as I'm only going on what one of the groundsmen I speak to most home games told me. Maybe the undersoil heating has a worse effect on the hybrid pitch than normal grass, who knows as its the first time it's been used on the new pitch. We've been so used to seeing a bowling green that Saturday was a bit of a shock tbf.

    The Pitch

Never believed that there would be any commercial benefits from it unless we were going to host concerts or Christian conventions a la St Johnstone I do believe it was the best decision to use the covid loan money to upgrade it as the annual maintenance costs will be roughly half of what it would have been had we kept the original pitch. Include the money it would have cost to fix the main drain issue which could have continued and cost even more money down the line then imo it made commercial sense. As you say, all about opinions and being able to debate and disagree.

    The Pitch

Seeing as you seem to know everything that's happening within the club you'll know about the issues over the main drainage and how much it was going to cost to fix it and the ongoing maintenance costs before deciding on the current set up. You'll also know who was responsible for the extra work that was required this year to get our safety certificate.

    The Pitch

Undersoil heating had to be turned on during the recent cold snap. Destroys the root system and takes time to recover. Same has happened to Celtics pitch.
  8. And you know that how? Insider knowledge or guesswork.
  9. Been that used to looking down the way at teams below us I forgot we're only 4 points off 6th place. Think I'm going to start looking up the way instead.
  10. Think people forget just how long Butcher was out for with injury and it was always going to take some time for him to get back up to the levels of last season. A couple of shaky starts but looks to be getting there.
  11. Well we're supposed to be a Community Club and as much as you might not like it, that includes women. Why stop there though; why don't we do away with the walking football team, the power chair football team and all the other Community based projects and put all the money saved there into the first team squad. We can't have it both ways.
  12. We're not skint as some people are alluding to. We have been spending more than we're bringing in and don't want to dip into reserves to cover the deficit. That's not a club in trouble, it's one that's taking steps to address it by trimming costs and trying to live within its means. Does anyone really want to go back to the "Well Worth Saving" days.
  13. Ross County fans are generally positive about his time up there in terms of his coaching ability and man management skills which I don't think we can dispute during his time here. Getting a tune out of KVV and taking a player St Johnstone fans described as the worst player they've ever seen and turning him into something resembling a decent forward supports that view imo.. The one criticism they had of him was the standard of players he brought in who didn't exactly get their fans excited so perhaps that is his weak spot with some poor summer signings which tbf he looks like he's recognised and gone some way to remedy. If we were to bin him at this late stage would anyone fancy the gig given the present circumstances, I don't know. I
  14. 2k pw in front of 4000 fans or 5k a week in front of 10000. I don't blame him.
  15. Got your reply in before I'd finished editing mine but we're on the same page.
  16. They would need to go some to catch Hearts. Not impossible but unlikely.
  17. Wouldn't say we were short in Central defence in terms of numbers, quality maybe. Blaney Casey Mugabi Butcher plus McGinn and ODonnell who can also play there.
  18. Not happy with it but it's where we are and is what it is and no point losing any sleep over it.
  19. He goes into the dressing room where everyone knows he's on 7k a week while they're on less than half that. Not exactly a motivator. Killie will probably be in the top 6 on current form so we play them on Saturday then don't have to give him a second thought after that.
  20. I'm glad the club didn't get involved in a crazy bidding war for Van Veen. Killie gambling that he can hit the ground running and his goals will guarantee them a top 6 spot and possible European place (which on current form they might get anyway). If they don't however, then its basically money spent for mid table mediocrity like us. History tells us that people with more money than sense piling cash into a Scottish football club at any level usually ends in tears. I'm actually more pleased at getting Devine on loan than disappointed at not getting VV.
  21. Dont think thats going to happen unfortunately as according to one of the resident stattos over on P&B you're only allowed one loan player from another SPL club so as we've apparently retained the registration of Montgomery and not cancelled the loan, we can't get anyone else on loan from Celtic.
  22. Hearts have confirmed they've no interest in him. Killie (according to their fans) are only looking for a defender this window. Leaves us and possibly St Mirren as the other clubs interested (allegedly I might add). All coming from a tweet by a Dutch journo.
  23. Funny how when Steelboy gets a bit of stick Yodo suddenly makes an appearance.🤔
  24. Wonder where they'll register on Steelboys pishometer.
