  1. For what it's worth, I think the recruitment strategy of signing League 2 / non league English players has served us well. Also, I believe that the squad of players we have is good. The issue that we have is that the football players are having their creativity ripped out of them. Case in point is Bigi; it's widely accepted he can't defend, so play him just off the striker in a 4-2-3-1 or don't play him at all. Also see Tait playing at left wing back when he is suited to right back in a back four. Same with Cadden being out of position, and I could go on and on about other players and I'm sure you get the point. We continually shoe horn players into a position that either doesn't suit them or play a system that players clearly don't like. I certainly can't understand why we play 5 midfielders and then launch the ball 30' over their heads. So the challenges we have is poor tactics and player selection in my opinion. That's Robbo and his team I'm afraid. He must accept that it's not working and change it. All the blah blah about "free stuff" is meaningless if poor Curtis Main can't control a ball that has, quite frankly, been fired out of a cannon at his face. He gets flak, but I'm not sure what people except him to do when that's what he's being asked to do. It's embarrassing. In the 35 years that I've had a season ticket, today is the first time I've felt that it's not worth wasting my time on a Saturday afternoon watching that. It's soul destroyingly unenjoyable. I fear that Killie will give us a lesson on Boxing Day and Hamilton will boss us next week. If that's the case, I fear for us this season and beyond.
  2. Just back. Could easily have been 6 or 7. Clear to me that the players aren't playing for the manager.
  3. Does this mean that footballers don't get injured on grass anymore?
  4. Hope someone can help. I'm thinking about going for the Centenary Suite season ticket this season. Just wondering what you actually get for the extra cost? Seems like a lot of money just to sit in a different bar? Also, does the free season ticket for kids still apply? Ta in advance.
  5. Mark McGhee's days were numbered as soon as Robinson returned to the club. And, FWIW, I thought we were too keen to sack him.
  6. If we stay up or get relegated, the maximum we'll get for any of these three players is £250k.
  7. Hammell was injured and played through it for 20 minutes.
  8. I no longer blame Samson. Two successive managers keep on picking him. It's their fault he's on the pitch, not his.
  9. If a platform like Steelmenonline - a dedicated site ran by Well fans for Well fans - isn't the appropriate place to plug the Well Society, then I'm not sure where is.
  10. Good luck to Robbo, by fuck he'll need it with some of those players and our club structure. Looking forward to all those stay away fans coming back on Saturday. The club statement confirms that we are ran by committee; a board governed by an exec board and the well society. It appears we've turned the clock back 40 years, which is quite an achievement. For all that CMWellfan can be a bit of a dick, he's right about the structure and those in charge. Amateurish would be an improvement.

    Mcghee Out?

McGhee is not to blame. Our club is ran by amateurs.
  12. Floodlights and hardboard were acceptable. If you had a scoreboard you were a dick.
  13. I'm jealous of taxi drivers and all they have achieved... Has anyone else joined the dots yet?
  14. A group of us are thinking about upgrading to the Centenary Suite, however it is not mentioned. Anyone on here able to shed any light on what the cost is?
  15. The answer to this question is yes; he has a charge over the land at Fir Park. Whilst this might alarm a lot of people, so did John Boyle....

    Well Bois

So what has happened to the Well Bois? They seem to have disappeared this season and I feel that are sorely missed. The atmosphere at FP is lacking without them. Where have they gone??
  17. Today is the day that it all clicks into place. 5-0 Motherwell.
  18. The second goal was definitely offside.
  19. Excellent move by the club. Let's get #crowdwank trending on Twitter for the lolz
  20. Hi Markus - does he know you're a massive Take That fan?
  21. Yesterday was my first away trip since the Albion Rovers game; I thought it wasn't possible to be more embarassed post match and I was wrong. Yesterday essentially reaffirmed everything that we already knew:- 1. Kenny Black is part of the problem and not part of the solution 2. The players are not fit (see point 1 above) 3. We have far too many players the wrong side of 30 4. We have a non existant youth set up 5. We do not have a senior pro left winger in the squad 6. Josh Law is symptomatic of the nepotism shown by McCall 7. Fraser Kerr is not very good in any position 8. Stephen McManus some how won over 40 caps for Scotland 9. Simon Ramsden is made of glass 10. Wearing expensive colourful boots does not make you a good footballer 11. James McFadden has more creativity and class in his left big toe than that whole team yesterday; releasing him was a clusterfuck of a decision 12. If we continue to sign Championship reserve players, our destination is going to be a fairly straight forward one 13. The club is completely directionless and has been for quite some time 14. The players don't care.
  22. Not to be an a$$hole but ... The update from WellSoc tells us absolutely nothing. It seems that the clubs finances are not too far away from being extremely perilous; this is not the time for a post mortem as to the reasons why we're in this situation. Treating fans on a "need to know" basis helps no one. The Well Society can not expect pledges of cash from anyone in such an environment, so the questions are quite simple ... Who are the mystery buyers? Do they even exist? How much cash is required? Is it £300k of £500k? Or more? Is the cash to keep us afloat? Is the cash for ensuring the mystery buyers don't gain control?

    Club Phone Call

Almost a ying to the club email topic yang. Just had a call from the club thanking me for renewing my season ticket, and outlining current packages on offer for future games and events. I thought it was a nice personal touch that they took time out to call; I appreciate that we're going through a rough patch on the pitch, and I think there is a lot right at the club, such as this. Fair play to them for making the effort!
  24. Bought it last night and raced through the first few chapters ... great read so far.
  25. I had this at my wedding and I went with:- 1. Maxwell 2. Nijholt 3. Wark 4. O'Neill 5. Craigan 6. Philliben 7. Arnott 8. O'Donnell 9. St John 10. McFadden 11. Cooper 12. Kirk All players I've seen except St John who I put in as he was my fathers hero back in the day. I put together a wee blurb at the back with some stats and some wordage - so I put Celtic and Sevco fans at the Arnott table just to poke it up them a bit. The ball and chain wouldn;t let me name the top table though - upsetting. ETA - I nearly had a table 13, which I was going to call the Kraska table and fill it with people I'd never seen or heard of.
