  1. This is a pumping, could easily be 6 or 7. Adams will be melting right now.
  2. That's true I suppose. Hopefully we see some of them from the bench tonight.
  3. Good thing we signed five young full backs on loan this season so we can keep playing O'Donnell.
  4. I have the fear about tonight
  5. Excellently put. I initially said it was "must not lose", but let's be honest, it's must win.
  6. Granted I only caught the second half but we did look the better team. Having said that though we never really looked like kicking on and winning. The subs came very late indeed, Nicholson in the 89th minute just doesn't make any sense. Another point on the board but still not good enough. Big big game on Tuesday, not quite must win, but absolutely must not lose.
  7. Saw the last 5 mins. Sounds like a poor start but we are on the ascendancy here. Need to convert this into 3 points!
  8. An interesting observation. I have made it clear that I am very much in the "sack him" camp, but it feels like he has a large % of our supporters who think we should stick with him. Those calling for his head are in the minority imo.
  9. Agreed, it's not the best signing on paper but things just work out for players at certain clubs, let's really hope this is one of those scenarios.
  10. He is though, at least a wee bit.
  11. 4 goals in 19 for County and only 1 this season. It's not ideal but at this stage it could be a lot worse. I'd rather Brophy than the unknown 21 year old warming the bench at St Mirren. We need at least 2 strikers though, and I honestly have the feeling we won't get one.
  12. 48 hours til the window shuts, it's getting nervy.
  13. Agreed, posting the intricate details of where he lives and the age of his kids and stuff is a bit... much.
  14. Quite surprised to read that! It hasn't been a great couple of seasons for us. Hopefully we stay in the league this year and improve a bit going forward.
  15. Need a fuckin buy-one-get-one-free at this rate!
  16. If it was a choice of two only I'd say two strikers. One is an absolute minimum. Very much into panic buy time now.
  17. A troll is someone who says something awful or something they don’t really believe to intentionally get a reaction. Those who want the manager gone, for the most part, have given a decent reasoning in their posts. Calling them trolls and dismissing them because they disagree with you is pretty tragic. It’s a message board for opinions and all are welcome.
  18. The bolded part is absolutely true, and it must really hinder us financially, but the appointments in the first place are what are fucking us over. We need to stop giving the gig to untried managers at this level with no/minimal track record. I'm all for an "outside of the box" appointment, but Hammell was a ludicrous decision in hindsight, and Kettlewell is turning out to be very poor overall. The next time we bring a manager in, a bit of experience would be fuckin magic. Edited to add - I absolutely do not mean a John Hughes type manager, just not a complete novice either.
  19. I only caught the second half (and it was skipping relentlessly at that) so can't say too much. We looked okay without being spectacular or terrible. We keep above them for now, but our lack of options up top is really costing us. The next couple of weeks are absolutely huge. We need some speedy business in the transfer window, and then we have two very winnable league games followed by a chance to get into the Scottish Cup Quarters. Three wins would be spectacular, but given it is now 1 win in 19 games (!!!!!!!!), I can't see it. Let's see what happens.
  20. How have we played? Just tuning in.
  21. I'm not getting involved in the specific debate about Bair any more because the truth is I'm tired of debating people who think that signing panic buys are okay or 15 game winless runs are acceptable or the eye bleeding football we've seen most of this season is "the best football we've seen in years", but just want to point out this response is very unfair. It's not us fans' job to find January targets, it's the fucking manager's job. We can be upset with the lack of signings or the quality of them without being able to draw up a list of potential targets ourselves.
  22. I'm not saying it's easy and we should be signing bargains all the time who are absolutely class, but on the other hand we shouldn't be getting it so badly wrong in all departments. Wilkinson, bit of a gamble, it hasn't worked out, that's fair. But Obika & Bair shouldn't be here in the first place, let alone Bair on a 2 year deal. As many other posters have said, we have bad transfer windows over and over again recently and we're in a cycle of signing shite that doesn't work out, KVV aside. You cannot deny that Kettlewell's signings have been extremely poor and underwhelming. As for comparing Scott to Wilkinson, it's unfair to point out Wilkinson's recent few years. For the first 6 or 7 years of his career Wilkinson's record was very poor, not better than Scott's. Scott is a young lad still who had a bad injury who we also sold for 7 figures, so there's for sure a player in there. Also a slightly unfair as Scott normally plays wide left forward. I completely agree it's a gamble to sign strikers, especially when we're battling it out with St Mirren etc who are in the same market, I just wish we'd win the bet far more often than we lose it.
  23. 4 more than what Bair had to be fair! I do get your point, but given he's one of our own and we've all seen him and know he was a decent player for this level I think most would have been okay with Scott. More forgiving than they will be when the next Conor Wilkinson is signed before the end of the window.
  24. Completely agree, the last window was a failure and this one is underwhelming so far. Scott would be a good addition as someone who can carry the ball akin to how Watt used to and get us up the park.
  25. McLean was just before my time so I can't really say comment, but I do absolutely get your point. The game has evolved though since the late 80s/early 90s. Managers aren't at clubs for 4 or 5 years any more. Whether that's a good or a bad thing is up for debate, but it's much more cut throat these days and regularly in League One/League Two you see managers getting the bullet for no wins in 7 or 8 games. The fact we went 15 without change is almost unheard of in the modern game. If we had been playing well in that time, the odd bad performance, a bit of tough luck and so on, I wouldn't be as vocal about my desire for change as I am. The fact we went on a 15 game winless run whilst being utterly woeful in most of those games leads me to think we are well beyond due change. People seem to forget how fucking awful we were to watch. I also understand finances are tight, and that we can't expect Moults and the like every window. But if you're telling me Bair, Wilkinson, Shaw & Obika were the BEST we could get with the money at our disposal then you'd be pulling my pisser. It's not good enough in my opinion, nowhere near it. I want better for my club, and "our results haven't been THAT bad in the last 8 games" or "Theo Bair has been okay the last 2 games" or "who cares if we signed Conor Wilkinson, we're BOUND to sign loads of duds!" isn't the best we can be, and it's down to an incompetent manager. It's the last I'll say on the matter because it's the wrong thread, I've been singing the same tune for months and it's moot anyway because as we all know he's here for a while yet after Weir publicly backed him. I just think he's tactically inept, he's out his depth and his signings are pish.
