  1. Regarding St Johnstone sales, we don't have many, if any, of the £25 tickets left and have had to order more for the North Stand as they are well onto the second block there. Not sure about the family section and other areas behind the goal (i.e. £18 tickets) though. I know it sounds ridiculous for a St Johnstone fan to say but it isn't the big attraction it would have been a few years ago to the day trippers as it's our fifth semi-final in four years. I'd hoped with it not being either of them that we were playing, a few more folk might fancy it but it doesn't really seem to be that way so far and the above estimate of 4,000 might not be far off. Very disappointing but our support doesn't seem nearly as up for this as yours is. I just hope that doesn't give Motherwell the extra man.
  2. Saints fan in peace once again. To address a few of the issues raised, I agree that £20 is a joke of a price (especially with the lack of discounts) but is that not just putting us on a level with the rest of the SPL clubs? We were actually told our prices would be £19 this season but unless they have decided to categorise games, it seems it's been increased. We will probably have the second lowest average gate in the league, behind Hamilton, so can't afford to just charge what we'd probably like to as it's going to put us at a disadvantage. I'd urge all Motherwell fans to make sure they are at the ground in plenty of time though as it can be notoriously slow getting through our turnstiles, although hopefully with folk just handed over a £20 note, that should speed things up. There are only two or three sets of turnstiles and if 1,900 to 2,000 folk turn up at 2:40pm, they aren't all going to get in on time. It'll be the same in the home end. Our final home match against Morton last season had folk still standing in the the walkways at 3:20pm. Our stewards don't handle things very well either IMO. Folk wanting a drink pre-match and a glimpse of the games on TV should head for the 208 Hotel if they want somewhere near the ground.
  3. The question should really be when you last lost in Perth. In fact, I'm not convinced you'll have been beaten since the 5-0 game, Billy Davies first as manager. That's over a decade ago now.
  4. Cheers for the feedback and even saying you can't predict what Gannon will do is a help. I'll be sure to note it all down for Derek McInnes the article. If I could put you all out a bit more though and ask how you'd regard the following players. Nothing too specific required (and I take on board the point about players like O'Brien being moved about), only if they are naturally defenders, midfielders or forwards. Players in question are Archdeacon (striker?), McHugh (striker?) and Page? I'd assume two of the lads listed in your Europa League squad, McPake and Meechan, are unlikely to be involved?
  5. I come in search of information, guys. I do the visitors notes for the St Johnstone programme and rather than just publish the player profiles that (certainly at First Division level) appear in most programmes, like to go into a bit more depth, so am looking for an indication of what Jim Gannon is likely to do next week. I've posted the following on Pie & Bovril but with little (no) response so thought it worth giving it a shot over here. Can any Motherwell fans tell me how your likely to line up? The score centre on Sky Sports had you down as playing a back three on Thursday night, is that right and has Gannon used that system before? From what I can gather, Ruddy will get the nod in goal and Reynolds and Craigan will be in central defence, whether it's a two or a three. Who is likely to be on the right of the defence and is Hamell or Hutchinson likely to get the nod on the left? Will the three new boys all likely start in midfielder, or is Coke the only one guaranteed his place? Is Forbes a central midfielder and where does Slane play? Murphy and Sutton up front, barring any new arrivals? Who are your other striking options? Any answers would be appreciated, thanks. As an aside, really looking forward to the match which should hopefully be an open affair and played in front of a big crowd... well, big by Saints' standards.
