  1. Yeah, that isn't the point that I'm making. We can score against teams that open up a bit. Especially those that play high and leave space behind. What we are not good at is taking penalty box chances. There were multiple half chances today that were not finished because we don't have an instinctive or natural striker.
  2. I understand the point that you are making, but it is a very black and white view of things. By that logic every team that loses any match deserves to lose, regardless of the circumstances. I'll view it on the balance of play, chances created, etc. and let's agree to differ. A draw would have seemed a fair result to me.
  3. I can't agree with that. We weren't good enough to win, but we certainly didn't deserve to lose. Far too passive in the game in the first half, better in the second, but no real goal-scoring forwards is a problem. We don't have anyone that can convert half chances. A draw would probably have been the right result.
  4. Exactly this. We give too many teams the initiative in games.
  5. Exactly this for me. Vale's energy and pace disrupted the Livingston lines. Something that we were incapable in the first half when we consistently played sideways and back.
  6. Well, that was a surprise and a very well worked goal. COYW.
  7. Strolling about the back doing nothing to try to unlock Morton. Disgraceful application and performance.
  8. Why does Paton try to pass there. 2-0 down and we still won't shoot when we get to the edge of the box.
  9. Dreadful by McGinn in the middle left us wide open. Absolutely done now.
  10. Totally agree, Blair is completely anonymous. No service at all. He needs to play off the shoulder of the last defender.
  11. Need to get to half-time at no more than 1 and rally in the 2nd half. First half performance has been poor. No energy. Losing battles all over the pitch.
  12. We seem to be outnumbered all over the pitch. Only able to play one pass and then an aimless punt. Does not bode well right now.
  13. I have the fear every time the ball goes into our box. We don't handle cross balls well at all. Lucky to get away with that one.
  14. I've given my vote to Bair. He scored a good goal and led the line very well. I must also point out an excellent performance by McGinn. He won practically everything in the air today, never giving the Killie boys a sniff.
  15. Exactly this. We are winning nothing in the air.
  16. Once again, a very slow start handing the initiative to the opposition. This set the tone for the game. No intensity in our play. A half-hearted press on occasion that was easily played through. Apparently, no game plan other than to sit back and punt the ball when the opportunity arises. It is almost as though the team and the manager don't see any way to score with our striking options. Only when we got Biereth on the pitch did we seem to show any urgency and a little belief that we could go forward with purpose. I'll also add that the team look drained of all confidence. While the football isn't pretty and often frustrating, we really need to get behind them, because they are all that we have.
  17. It was good to get a point and stop the run of loses. It was also good to get a point from a seemingly lost cause at 2-0 and then 3-1 down with so little time remaining. What a difference the introduction of Biereth made. Just having a forward with pace and power and a willingness to run beyond the backline completely changed the dynamic of the game. His whole mentality seems to be that of a winner. Even at 3-3, while half the team were away celebrating he grabbed the ball and was urging the players back to get restart the game and chase the winner. Great to see from Biereth, but also a bit of an eye-opener for the team and the support. Rather than celebrate a point, we should be looking for 3 from that game. I hope that some of that desire and urgency rubs off on to others in the squad. I think that we saw our best first choice forward pairing in Biereth and Wilkinson today. For me, they are the best chance that we have of scoring goals. I hope that they get some game time to see if they can form a valuable partnership. A special mention for Brodie Spencer who I thought was our top man. I have no idea why SK thought that subbing him was a good idea.
  18. It has all been said. A very poor performance from many of the team today. I won't single them out, but I have half a team in mind that were far below the standard required today. I agree with many posts on here that continuing to play a fairly defensive setup is not the way to go against the likes of Livingston. It was clear from very early in the match that we weren't going to score unless things were changed, and they weren't. It is bad enough losing today, but what really annoys me is our inability to make simple passes. Every second pass (44% accuracy) was misplaced today. For a professional football team, that pass completion stat is ridiculously low. No football was played, everything was lumped long and high. A dreadful performance all round on a horrible day.
  19. I'm confident of a victory in this one. I actually think that it will be quite comfortable. I'll go for 2-0 to the Well.
  20. No, not what I mean at all. I think we'll be OK with what we have, but will likely finish bottom six, but in no danger of relegation, if one of our current crop of strikers doesn’t come good. On the other hand, if Wilkinson or Biereth come good, we'll be top six and conceivably in the European places.
