  1. When Alexander came in I was so surprised we managed to attract a manager with a pretty decent track record and who also had a credibility as a player to boot. As it turned out his stubbornness/lack of imagination led to his downfall. Contarary to GA, SK has shown a willingness to adapt, learn from his mistakes, and, just as importantly, seems to have the backing of his squad of players. I for one not only celebrated the Livi victory for what it is but am glad it gives SK the opportunity to (try and) address deficiencies in the squad and drag us further up the table. There are plenty of comments about wanting to give our own youth/academy players a chance and opportunity. I’d say the same about giving SK a chance to develop and grow with us.
  2. Has to be Paul McGrinch. We didn’t lose a goal with him on the pitch.
  3. What’s quite unusual in general football environment from the run that we’re on that SK is still in post. We’re (forum) obviously split on whether he should have gone and should be given opportunity to bring in resources in transfer window so I expect the board are too. Personally I’m at stage of giving him the window and into February to turn it around simply because the players still seem to be trying.
  4. Posted here rather than other topic on running of club but applicable to both. Interesting comment from our previous CEO AB in Record. Aberdeen’s head of recruitment Jordan Miles is a top target for Leeds United. Burrows has stated if he does go it will have no impact on their January as their transfer window work has already been done. Is this also likely to be the case with us based on how season and performances have panned out or are we more likely to be reacting in January to more recent injury situations?
  5. Not against considering Ian Murray or someone like him per se but worth pointing out his time at StMirren (“biggest” club he’s managed) was 23% win rate and gone in less than a year.
  6. we have won eight points from losing positions in the Scottish Premiership this season - more than any other team apparently. Hey Stuart, new team talk plan, send them out after telling them they’re two down.
  7. Ross County was a very odd formation smacking of a desperation which I didn’t think needed to be there after the, relative, positivity of Dundee ending. St J is therefore for me a (last) chance for Kettlewell to reset and show that he can get us out of this. If he can get 4 points out of next two games then he should stay. If he loses this he should go and give us time to get someone in (rather than caretaker) by time of Livi game. 3-2
  8. Yep, the formations and approach in open play is totally down to manager but surely it has to be the players to blame at these set pieces.
  9. Just watched Kettlewell’s post match interview. All players will make mistakes at some point and I’m sure most fans will grudgingly accept that reality. If Kettlewell genuinely thinks his team selection, specifically the decision to play Spittal as left wingback in order to accommodate Bair in team, was an appropriate approach to dealing with the Hearts goal threat then he needs to be replaced as soon as possible. Most of our players are limited in some way but have strengths. Kettlewell doesn’t seem to recognise this. To me it seems pretty straightforward- play wingbacks in their accustomed position- invert them if you want to get creative - play your midfielders in midfield play your strikers in the striking position they are most likely to score goals - Wilkinson is not a winger. finally - do not play Theo Bair ahead of anyone else. He is no doubt an athletic individual but he has nowhere near enough footballing acumen or technical ability to play at this level of football. We have not run out of viable options to put out a team capable of getting results but the manager seems hellbent in sabotaging any potential for this.
  10. Worth watching manager’s latest interview. Seems clear Davor isn’t considered ready yet.
  11. Efford had a bit of pace but didn’t seem to have much technical ability. Killie game was a good example of his lack of control. Obviously not getting on with SK either so best situation for both parties. Good luck to him but no loss.
  12. Not sure if online but if this one then it’s in the shop. My 17yo (and fussy about his clobber) thought it was best he’d seen in a long time
  13. Interesting. Thanks for this background. I wonder given the discussion around Max J and contract status what we may be doing differently to protect our interests. Any idea if he has been offered an extended contract?
  14. No love for Utd but bigger picture for us and league I’d rather we had 1500+ Utd fans visiting than the tiny County contingent or Killie and their shitty pitch.
  15. No! Looks like a pair of pyjamas made for American tourists.
  16. Aaron Taylor-Sinclair scored for Diamonds as they hammered Falkirk in Championship playoff.
  17. We’re on 37pts Scenario- we lose them all and Livi lose or only pick up odd point Does anyone think following is remotely likely Ross C win 4 = 39 pts Killie/Utd win 3/4 = 40/43 pts Saints win 2 = 39 pts Ok so we’re not technically safe (yet) but I’m pretty sure we will be after first round of fixtures
  18. Casey despite having been substituted (according to tannoy) was immense
  19. Not sure if just me but I hope Gunn drops a couple into his own net. If Clark/Kelly not good enough to play against Cyprus then one/both shouldn’t be there.
  20. I see us being at least 4 points ahead of all 3 at the split. StM or Livi will be safe in 7th. We’ll be safe with another 4pts post split. If being optimistic we could challenge StJ for 8th.
  21. It won’t be any better. There will be those who think he McCanny hack it and those who praise his McCann do attitude.
  22. Interesting thought. Maybe SK thinks he has a shot at Aberdeen, or, more likely if they think they would get same reaction, Dundee Utd.
