  1. 4th official had a word with him about it at the tunnel.
  2. Strange to say but losing the early goal seemed to inject a resolve in us and County did not kick on. Long was excellent and just a pity he didn’t get a goal for himself. Donnelly has been good all season but O’hara has a similar defensive input and bit more attacking threat.
  3. Disgraceful attempts at penalties from professional footballers. Watt and Hylton should be fined. Donnelly’s was poor but would at least have gone in had keeper dived other way.
  4. Ohara. Donnelly played well second half but was poor in first (along with most of defensive side) -penalty was pathetic.
  5. Good fee but as others have said it’s not all about the balance sheet. My 13 yo is devastated.
  6. Scott definitely. The look on Whittaker’s face as JS passed him in second half was priceless

    Vs Hibs

Attacking line up. Could cause them problems with Long and Scott swapping around
  8. At no point have I called for managers to be fired, players crucified or punted, etc. Don’t understand the comment on computer game or TV show I get to see a reasonable amount of development level football so feel I have a perspective to differentiate between basic technique and application and fully fledged experience and guile. I recognise it was a young team against more seasoned professionals but since Clyde have had a less than stellar start to their season I don’t see why the result and most of the performances cannot be characterised as disappointing? It is important for younger players to get this experience and there are ways of getting it - this competition being one so part of my personal disappointment is that Motherwell FC didn’t seem to take it seriously enough Evidence only 3 subs - Jamie Sempie (scorer last week and not a likely starter on Friday) was there so why not at least on bench
  9. Very disappointing performance from almost all of the Well team. Basic passing and control absent and too easily beaten in challenges. A harsh lesson and absolutely no sign that anyone anywhere near stepping up to first team squad. We also only had three subs and one was goalie.
  10. Tanner on twitter saying he got 65 mins. Promising sign.
  11. Donnelly is obvious choice for goals and had a decent allround game however I think Ilić (only one l) looks like he is going to be a major player for us. He got stuck in and was making intelligent moves and passes throughout.
  12. Brian McLean may be playing g against us on Friday although maybe should tell him he’s now with Morton. https://twitter.com/bmac__6?lang=en-gb
  13. Overall the “rebuilt” squad looks stronger than last year. On potential alone it looks like it could be a pretty exciting season.
  14. Wasn’t aware of that Twitter insights which feature him suggest he is involved in same sessions
  15. 12 subs and Tanner not one of them. Not looking good for him sadly.
  16. You’re pretty negative for someone with that avatar.
  17. David Turnbull seems to be approaching any potential transfer in the same confident and mature (beyond his years) way we’ve had the pleasure of seeing him play for us. How many times has taken the extra touch or created the space when others would have been hurried/panicked into snap decision. I’ll be delighted if he stays and equally delighted if he goes to a club of his choosing.
  18. How about a thought for Turnbull himself. He’s still a young lad and being able to step up to a “bigger” club (European games, realistic chance of winning league) without totally have to uproot may appeal. He may also think he’ll get more game time at Celtic than likes of Bournemouth. From a Scotland POV he’s also more likely to get involved in national team as a semi-regular player than primarily a reserve league /odd ten minutes sub appearance in EPL. Not that I’m happy him going to Celtic but I’d be just as disappointed as him fading into obscurity down south.
  19. I wasn’t overall dispirited by today’s performance - we’ve seen a lot worse this season - so hopefully we’ve got some of the ridiculous mistakes all out in this game. I agree we should look to play the last 5 games with a view on next season e.g. Scott ahead of Main, but we should be looking to finish 7th with attendant prize money.
  20. Grimshaw definitely showed commitment throughout and did as much as a defender should be expected to. Gorrin also came into game. Ariyibi showed some real good touches.
  21. Gorrin was all action and constantly breaking up StM attacks. Even got forward a couple of times albeit then got nosebleed. Sensibly taken off as the fouls were starting to rack up.
  22. Petravicius scores again for Falkirk. 3 goals and 4 assists so far. Maybe he should also have gone out on loan to move forward.
  23. Just back. Ironically a much better overall performance than StM game. With the forced players on pitch we had to start to pass the ball occasionally. ATS looks much better when trying to pas and move rather than just launching it. Similar with Gorrin, Bigi, Campbell. and Frear The continuing liability that is Carl McHugh would have a straight red for the appalling challenge on Dunne has he been a Killie player.
  24. Just watch new goalie win game of two touch keepy uppy. Get him on outfield 2nd half.
  25. Far too much “respect” being shown to poor 2nd division team. Cadden, Frear, Campbell should be running at these players every time. Pass and move through them.
