  1. Irony is Ross Mathie is from North Motherwell
  2. It's actually quite an entertaining game just now, pretty open.
  3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56869428 BBC have Foley in 4th and their hack waxed on about Cole as if he was the only one on the park.
  4. Tavernier was injured which allowed Patterson to break through, granted an average performance in blue or green gets the press hacks excited, not as if that defence has been troubled much this season. However Tavernier has returned, is club captain and Patterson has to serve a 3 match bad for attending a house party earlier in the year. Personally I'd drop McBurnie, I don't think he warrants a place. Nisbet could easily be replaced by someone like Forrest albeit returning from a long injury. Turnbull has earned a spot from coming into and being among the best of a bad bunch at Parkhead. I'd suggest Griffiths too but I don't know where he is at at all in terms of his game or beyond it now, he is a talisman however. Ryan Jack would be my third if one of the above doesn't get the nod. I wouldn't be surprised if its 3 with call ups already but not in the most recent squad. Only a few games to rattle the managers cage. With the extension of 23 to 26 in the squad it is more likely to be someone he's used over the past year and dropped. 5. Stevie G certainly has been pretty good on the transfer market. Considering that they could have got Turnbull for the same 400k compo wonder if that is a regret. Saying that they could have got him last summer if they really wanted him. Since the Scotland squad will be increased to 26 from 23 due to Covid, what fringe players will get in, who's turned on the class in the last few months? Patterson? Turnbull? etc.?
  6. Think only reds can be appealed, I may be wrong
  7. Fair play to O'Donnell for not celebrating against his former club. #classy
  8. Going back to the discussion when the lineups were announced. Starting Watt would have allowed Hastie and his pace to be used in the counter attack as they now have to go for it.
  9. You should know one swallow doesn't make a summer
  10. Forgot .... in the same way I still find it odd when I see one player stepping up for the kickoff. Agree what you say about Hastie, unless the analysis suggests his particular attributes will cause them issues or a caveat in the loan agreement I would rather see others in the starting line up before him.
  11. I'm hoping depending on how the game goes to see Cornelius, Dunne and Maguire however I suspect Watt will make an appearance at the expense of one of them.
  12. Wheesht, when I read Andy's post I saw it as him not drawing equivalence on the player or their contribution, it highlighted how fans may have a rule of one and another based on their future in C&A and current popularity. It was consistency of viewpoint not marred in prejudice nor affection he was highlighting. If you can't see it objectively as that then you should follow your own advice. As for Declan, covered it already. He has enhanced the squad in his time here. I wish him no ill will and that he gets the move he is blatantly desperate for and feels he deserves, I can't ask anything of a player I wouldn't want in my own career. I doubt I'll clap him upon his return but unlikely I will give him it tight him unless he acts the smart arse which is a 60-40 chance knowing how lippy he is. If Reynolds who left under good terms, for OK money, outside Scotland, being academy graduate and local lad gets boo'd returning for Aberdeen then I may be in the minority. His actions in January means he's now in the Tom Boyd camp rather than the Louis Moult one of ex-players. I wish Campbell all the best, I hope his eventual move to being among better players allows him to flourish. He recently featured as 1 of 4 on a SPFL starlets youtube article (3m 40s). The guy has 420k subscribers so I guess some influential people down south may have been alerted if not already. He's watched all his contemporaries leave (Scott, Hastie and Turnbull) for massive wage increases while he shows up at FP with the milkman, put 150 games under his belt and has been by-and-large consistent. He has regressed a bit but tell me someone who hasn't other than Watt this term.
  13. Yeah, I don't know how widespread or expensive it is over LED however. It was developed from French Mirage jets head up displays (HUD's) that lock onto threats and targets despite divergence. So as the camera pans and follows the ball/action, the predefined space for advertising is locked and the image is distorted to reflect perspective and range of the viewer, all very clever stuff.
  14. The LED’s are not viable as we don’t generate enough in ad revenue to justify the cost and secondly the depth of the wall to pitch along the Hunter is too shallow to accommodate any.
  15. A question probably echoed by your mum every festive period ..... "Is he worthy of inclusion for Christmas Dinner?" Is it the fact he was here since he was 12 bit or the season and a bit he played in the first team not being enough you have issue with? A portion of Patrick Finbar O'Flaharty's season ticket paid for the South 30 years ago and if you sit in the Hunter, you'll probably be sitting on another chunk of it come August.
  16. I'm not gonna dispute that, all I'm saying is this is being angled that way. No different to the extended video with all the academy boys playing keepy uppy under the South a couple of years ago, to remind the market of and help sell a particular player or the one made for Turnbull to leave on the best possible terms despite his final destination.
  17. I would wager the agreement has been made and part of securing his signature. All this is the media team positioning him in the fans eyes for the role so it appears a natural progression.
  18. If you think the refs decisions on that day and the Friday night after were down to luck, akin to the flip of a coin. Then there's no hope. Yes fortune can come your way via the draw, home draws over away, your path to the final etc, but if you're fitter, hungrier, have more desire and drive then that certainly stacks the chips in your favour. With respect to the refereeing decisions made, if you think it is down to anything other than the ref shitting it overtly or sub-consciously you're onto plums. I've always said your average SFA referee when they bank their £1,500 and go back to their day job as a accountant, surveyor or leader of the Tories will encounter a hell of a lot more OF fans in their daily life than Killie, Livvy or us. Was McGregor going down at 86 mins and getting a penalty when we were 1-0 up in the "invincibles" season due to bad luck? I'd wager the ref didn't want to be the guy officiating over their defeat and McGregors actions were a relief. I've always thought they get half a man advantage from their support and half from the officials and another from their financial gulf. That needs our full team on song and a quite few of theirs to be off their game. That's what equates to their record over the years with us as because of the players we can attract and afford. It is not often you get the whole Motherwell team purring away perfectly together.
  19. Well the press seem to think St Mirren have a team of once in a generation world beaters and they're two points ahead of us ........ and every Well fan thinks we're chronic.
  20. Doesn't diminish the sentiment or the truth of the quote which essentially is, you put the hours in, you improve. At present our plan in order of prominence is: A) Avoid relegation B) Make top six (to guarantee an OF visit to FP and the £250k it brings in) C) Decent cup run in one out of the two D) If B is achieved, push for Euro place In our league precession, there is a realisation that it will be one by one of two clubs. Therefore a team like us should be focused any tangible success coming from the cups.
  21. The "MFC" seemed to be legible. So many options: Copying the original or new club tartan for one, a grid lends itself to that Introducing white banding so the clubs colours are reflected (similar to 2011 Cup Final tifo) TH-E -ST-EE-LM-EN divides into 7 sections perfectly Alternating bands of colours Copying elements of the badge and blowing them up, i.e. Ravenscraig shown over 2 blocks, the white ball, the trio of tree's, "EST 1886" Horizontal Stripes Majority amber with claret band 3/4 way up like the strip Sponsorship opportunities
  22. You make your own luck. Gary Player once said, "you know it's funny .... the more I practice, the luckier I get". I have no doubt the size of their keeper won the mental battle and got in the heads of our players. However everyone was talking about the comeback, glazing over the general malaise that was the first 70 minutes of that tie. People talk about our league finishes over the past 30 years and while the average placing over budget graph puts us way ahead of many teams, I'd cash that all in for a cup win. When you think almost every team in the league has picked up something in the last 30 years League Cup: Ross County 15/16 Livvy 03/04 St Johnstone 20/21 St Mirren 12/13 Aberdeen 95/96 and 13/14 Hibs 91/92 and 06/07 Killie 11/12 Raith Rovers 94/95 Scottish Cup: ICT 15/16 St Johnstone 13/14 Hearts 97/98, 05/06 and 11/12 Hibs 15/16 Killie 96/97 Dundee Utd 93/94 and 09/10
  23. Even alternate the claret and amber like the scarfs that almost everyone owns. I guess there is a valid reason for it. Flow is brand aware and we have an adept graphic design team so capability is there. I'm sure there must be more to why its just blocked as it is.
