Yes he was at EP today. There is a strong rumour it's Crewe. Apparently it was interference from the club in football affairs mainly signing players. He was set to resign because of this but the club sacked him.

I have to say, Jim was always very vocal during the games and was always stood. Towards the end we noticed he started leaning against the dug-out and saying nothing. It was completely out of character. Then it started to break that there were off-field problems that resulted in administration. It is definitely not like him if he's mute and sat down!

Oh, and FWIW he was always on a one-year rolling contract with us. He wouldn't sign anything long term although he never had any intentions of leaving.

It's quite amazing reading this as history is repeating itself so accurately. When at Stockport he initially kept us in the FL with an immediate return of results. When he then started to build the squad he did an awful lot of tinkering. During this period of a few months results were a bit indifferent and he started to get some stick. In the meantime he spoke out about the standard of refereeing, he fell out with players (who continued to play for him by the way), he critisised the sponsors choices of MOTM, he argued with supporters behind the dug-outs etc etc. What JG was doing was testing and trying players, pushing them to see if they could play maybe more than just their own position, pushing their ability. In time it worked. What we finished with was a young team that played the most fantastic football whilst being able to constantly change formations leaving the opposition completely baffled as to how to stop us. The only way was to kick us, which happened on a few occasions. Managers often admitted they could not cope with the tactic changes during games, or with the pace and skill that was produced by such a young side. This may happen for Motherwell. I'd stick with him and support his decisions if i were you but that's based on our experience with Jim as manager. I must admit i was suprised at him moving up there. It just happened so suddenly after he had apparently agreed a deal to stay with us and take a pay-cut, which is what he wanted. Next minute the consortium was gazumped and he was made redundant in the strangest circumstances. I also believe he has been reported to have said that he has 'unfinished business' at County. I have continued to follow JG's career and it is quite odd to hear his interviews in the media as it is deja-vu like. Have you any idea who he is meant to have had talks with?

They tried to get him whilst with us, he went to speak to the then chairman Dick Knight but he turned it down as he wanted to stay with us. It's funny reading comments like that. There was so many times when he had us all scratching our heads with his selections and tactics but it then paid off. It was almost a regular occurance.

I'd believe that based on what i know about Jim. He's got his own funny ways, especially with dealing with players. It's funny you mentioned the experienced ones because he wouldn't sign any with us. Many said it was because he can't deal with them, i wonder if it's true? He fell out with plenty of players at Stockport and eventually shipped them out. Like i said on here a few weeks back - if he doesn't feel he's getting 100% or doesn't feel the player fits in then they're history....no matter who they are. Jim was a funny one as a player (10 years with us) and he's certainly a funny one as a manager. Jim is Jim and he will not change for anybody. Glad to see that he's getting some positive feedback from you all already though.

We had him for two loan spells and he is a very, very good all round goalkeeper. Good hands, good shot-stopper, agile and commands his area. Plus he's a big lad. A good signing for your boys. Well done.

Which apparently cost us appearances on Sky from that point onwards. He would not speak to them for either of the Play-Off semi's v Wycombe or before or after the final at Wembley. He's a stubborn one is Jim.

You will be a passing team there are no two ways about it. It's very, very good to watch. The story of the fall-out, it may have happened but with Jim it most definately could have! The players will have to pull their weight and fit in with his style of play, if they can't they will be moved out no matter who they are. A budget Fergie? Quite possibly.

Josh Thompson - a great prospect but nowhere near the finished article. Manyoo have offered 250k apparently after he was training with their first team prior to the CL final and Peterborough are also prepared to pay for him. Apparently his top target from us is the goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams who is superb! He's regular now for Wales U21 and would be a very good signing. It's soul-destroying seeing all our young talent being taken for next to nothing.
