  1. I'm personally a big fan of Sutton. I think some of the comments on here about him being unfit are ridiculous as he would run himself into the ground every game even if it wasn't going his way. I think a great example was the 6-6 game against hibs where he didn't give up and kept looking for a goal. Some of his link up play with Murphy was great and to have a striker in your team who is guaranteed to get 10 goals or more a season is a fabulous asset at this level.

  2. I see Erwin has his own thread on the bury forum http://www.gigglane.com/showthread.php/28016-Erwin

I don't like to be negative, but I felt he contributed nothing, looked confused, acted confused and his effort was abysmal on the ground and in the air. Perhaps there is an element here of disappointment to lose a 2-0 lead and a woeful ref to boot but Erwin's efforts and fitness was not worthy of a Sunday league team in my opinion. You are probably thinking that's harsh and maybe it is, but its as I saw it and maybe if he gets a run out again he will make me eat these words ( I hope so!), but in the meantime it was an underwhelming debut to say the least.
  3. Yeah there's some evidence online he was his agent.

But his agent, Jonathan Hope, is adamant the former FC Brussels hitman is better suited to League Two and has offered to buy Casagolda out of his one-year contract to grease the wheels of any potential deal. And Hope is confident that County won't disappointed if they decide to take a punt on the Spaniard.

"Scottish football is not for every player," said Hope. "It's a very hard, physical game, which is extremely quick and unforgiving.

Just goes to show some of the characters that are out there in football. I've seen this guys name get banded around a lot even at one point he was being talked about as a backer for John Brown's bid to take control at rangers. It's pretty baffling how delusional some people can be.

  4. "Henri Anier says his two-goal display against St Mirren was inspired by Henrik Ojamaa but fears he may have to follow his friend out of Motherwell.

Estonia team-mate Ojamaa, who left for Legia Warsaw in June, was back in Scotland to visit his fellow striker.

"He told me I was going to score two, so I did," said Anier, who would likeViking Stavanger to extend his loan.

"They won't accept this I think because I would be free in the summer, so maybe something else can happen."

"It was nice to see Henrik and I just hope he can make Pittodrie. If he can do that, we'll take him up there with us"

Stuart McCallMotherwell managerIt is unlikely that Motherwell, hampered further financially after an early Scottish Cup exit, would be able to pay a transfer fee to secure the 23-year-old permanently.

And manager Stuart McCall has indicated they would also have a problem should Viking demand that the Fir Park outfit increase their contribution and pay his full wages to secure an extended loan beyond January.

But Anier, who had a previous loan with Fredrikstad after joining Viking from Flora Tallin, thought there was still time for the clubs to come to an arrangement even though his agent had been quoted as saying there were other clubs interested.

"Obviously I've been around a few clubs and it would be nice to stay or get something permanent, or at least to stay until the end of the season," he said.

"I've really enjoyed my time here. It is between the clubs and I can't do anything and I hope something can get sorted out in the next two weeks.

_71906825_ojamaa.jpgThe 22-year-old Ojamaa has helped reigning champions Legia to to the top of the Ekstraklasa

"I don't know about extending the loan because I've got one more year back at Viking, but my agent knows more than me and it's between the clubs.

"My loan finishes in the middle of January, so we still have time."

Anier was not frustrated at being denied a chance of a hat-trick by being substituted with 20 minutes remaining during the 3-0 Premiership win.

"I am happy with two and to get back to winning ways," he said.

"It felt really good when I was on the pitch. I think we played brilliant as a team as well.

"That could be one of my best performances for Motherwell."

Indeed, St Mirren manager Danny Lennon described the Estonia striker as "almost unplayable" on the day.

McCall thought Ojamaa's presence had helped get the best out of Anier and hoped that the striker's form would continue against Aberdeen on Boxing Day.

"Did he tell you why he did well? Mr Ojamaa," he joked.

"Henrik came over to stay with Henri for a few days and we had some lunch on Friday.

"He said they would go back and they would analyse his performance. I said, okay, you do that and make sure he comes and scores some goals tomorrow.

"It was nice to see Henrik and I just hope he can make Pittodrie. If he can do that, we'll take him up there with us."

"Motherwell boss McCall is certain his players will bounce back – but he knows Hibs will be desperate to atone for their 7-0 home defeat to Malmo.

He said: “Obviously they’ll be smarting and we’re smarting a bit after our result. But we have done well at Easter Road in the past so we’ll go and look to be positive and get our league campaign off to a good start.

“We were up against a side on Thursday that was playing its fourth competitive game, it was our first and you could tell.”

McCall is trying to bring in one more player in a bid to inject a bit of pace to his squad.

He added: “I’m pleased with my squad, we’re very strong in some areas.

“But we don’t have the pace we had last season. Hopefully we’ll bring a player in during the next month.

“It won’t be anyone on big bucks but we would hope to get one in to give us a different option coming off the bench or even to start.”

McCall is set to keep faith in keeper Lee Hollis, who got the nod over new signing Gunnar Nielsen on Thursday and did well.

The Fir Park boss said: “If Gunnar had come in and been a lot better than Lee I might have gone with him. But they have been as good as each other in the games and in training.

“I said to Lee last season when he signed his two-year deal that he would get a fair crack if Darren Randolph moved on, so I’ve been fair to him. But make no mistake, we have two goalies fighting for the jersey.”

  6. He may be on 2k a week in his contract but will he be getting paid - sure Sheridan was there and came back to Scotland as had to go months without pay.

I'm sure anyone who's getting a regular game for cska sofia will have better suitors than Motherwell.

  7. Tommy Lee is the ideal replacement. Currently at Chesterfield and i think he is out of contract in june. He may be tempted to come to us on the basis of how well Ruddy and Randolph have developed. Top keeper

He signed a three year contract extension in January 2013 with chesterfield.

  8. Might be ghoulish or simply insensitive, but time waits for no man and all that, who from the Dunfermline players would be worth a contract at the 'Ark? Just noticed that Gallacher gas been freed and with Randy probably offski I think he could be worth a shout, even just as back up to Hollis

Why would he be a back up to hollis? Hollis has hardly played any spl games.
