  1. The truth is out there somewhere 🤫
  2. The whole concepts of a " fan owned " club was laudable but in Motherwell's case given our fanbase limitations it was never going to be a long term sustainable operating model. If we were a league 2 club say then it might work but never on the financial demands of a full time premiership team. And it seems that the board have finally realised this hence the search for outside investment, and for me the price of that investment if it happens would be majority control of the club, Investors want their returns. If the WS members reject whatever proposals re giving up majority control that may be put before them as is their right, without having any alternatives in place then I can see a potential funding crisis ahead for the club.
  3. As the majority shareholders the WS members having the final say on any major decision taken by the club over the years should have been normal practice. But from what the members have said including yourself the consultation / communication etc has been zero, so as I said is there any confidence that this approach will change as it needs to?
  4. A choice between two beauties for me Spittal's long range effort v Ross County and Blaneys volley v Dundee.
  5. The WS members opinions from what's been said so far don't seem to have been canvassed or taken into account by any communication or votes etc for any decision taken by the club re finances, infrastructure improvement etc since the WS was formed, what makes you think that approach will change now?
  6. That's because they only play each other twice in the English premiership, it's the same in Spain so no need for any jiggery pokerey with the fixtures required. As has been said only in Scotland with all the shite and nonsense that comes with the uglies.
  7. They make sure the ugly sisters get 19 home and 19 away games each, and once those two have agreed the fixtures, the other clubs get what's left, that's the usual approach every season.
  8. Pitches like ploughed fields, games played at walking pace at times, standing on open terraces in all weathers, no comparison with today's game but we enjoyed it allegedly 😬
  9. They are working out how to avoid the next ugly sisters game at Parkhead becoming a title decider Dave. It's only ever all about those two the other forty clubs in Scotland are irrelevant.
  10. The two points yes, extra cash no, apart from us winning we also needed Aberdeen to beat Dundee which never happened, so it's 7th place prize money at best this season.
  11. Agreed, Inverness /Dingwall is a great away trip, ive had a few great weekends up there, much better than Perth so personally I hope RC stay up.
  12. Spot on Dave, Bair was very isolated on his own yesterday, we need two up front I'd have Davor, Spittal and Miller in behind them with Gent and SOD as the two wingback as required.
  13. Nah, 5 games left and we're 7 points ahead, effectively 8 pts with the goal difference RC need to win at least 3 maybe 4 of the last 5 to catch us, its not going to happen.
  14. Do you have an application form in for the Trolls doom and misery club alongside Yodo, MJC and Steelboy, why was yesterday pathetic, we never lost and had a great chance to win with the last kick of the ball? A draw was probably the fair result as Hibs played ok as well. Since December we've been good, playing better picking up results, ending our Rangers hoodoo, to be even in the position of still be able to make the top 6 speaks volumes on how well SK has turned it round from us being 2nd bottom.. so why not give the team some credit for a change, you might enjoy the experience.
  15. Gent for me, the only one that looked threatening when he was on the ball.
  16. Unfortunately what it does not give is the main problem for the club, ie a sufficiently large revenue stream to negate the need to seek outside investment.
  17. Moult and Twatt scoring for Dundee untd tonight as they are pumping Morton, currently 4-0.
  18. Investors in football clubs are not selling a product to the masses, they don't have target customers, they are looking to invest money make the club better on and off the field, then withdraw some of the profit etc.
  19. Would any potential investor be happy to see some of the cash they would be putting into the club used to finance projects / initiatives etc not connected with the club etc from which they would see no return? I think not they want a financial return, not a story in the Motherwell Times saying what nice people they are. The WS are also investors, the members are commiting lots of cash each year without the expectation of a financial return, but to hopefully benefit the football club to make it better ie governance, infrastructure, players, results etc. They don't put up their cash to fund community projects etc.
  20. , I'm not a WS member and never will be if it remains in it current format. It sole purpose when formed was to ask the fans to contribute cash on a regular basis to provide an overdraft facility For the club. Proper fan ownership would have seen the fans given the opportunity to buy actual shares in the club to raise cash they would then have a genuine say in how the club was run. No doubt changes in the governance of the club will be forthcoming if the outside investment is finalised so there will be an opportunity to change the WS as well for the benefit of everyone, it might even persuade me to join if I wad becoming an actual shareholder and not just a source of funds.
  21. Fan ownership does work if the fanbase is big enough ie Hearts, have a look on their website site at the amount they have raised so far over £16 million ffs. Unfortunately given our support base we will never get remotely near that sort of cash, I also get the impression that it's on a much more professional basis than the WS, but that's something the WS can improve and get right.
  22. Engaging in a debate with steelboy is like talking to Grandpa Simpson 2 posts in and its all meaningless drivel, you need to stop feeding the Trolls.
  23. It's not in our own hands, all we can do is beat Hibs and hope other results go our way, but given where we were a few months ago it's a great turnaround that we have given ourselves a chance of the top 6.
  24. You must be raging a Motherwell win and another weekend wasted for you.
