  1. Valakari always gets mentioned and allegedly interviewed for every managers job we have irrespective of whether he wants the job or not.
  2. If VAR was used for its original intended purpose, ie clear and obvious errors in the build up to goals, the technology was the best available and the VAR officials were fully trained and competent then it could be a very useful aid to referees etc. This along with full disclosure after the game on the reasons for decisions made, referees being allowed to explain the reasoning etc, would improve the game and fan experience. However what we got in Scotland was a hastily cobbled together shambles of suspect technology, inconsistent application of the laws of the game, poorly trained officials and a culture of secrecy with no explanations or censure for blatantly bad decisions. So until the SFA admits it made a James Hunt of it and starts again to ensure its implemented and operated as it should be it will continue to ruin the game and fan experience, this of course assumes the SFA will take effective action but as we all know that won't happen, they have more important things to organise, ie the expenses paid freebies to Germany in the Summer for all the committee members.
  3. The basic principle of speculation is that you need cash in the 1st place to speculate with, which we don't have so hence the need to live with our means. So unless a billionaire oil sheik or a group of investors give the club shed loads of cash to spend as we want, with no guarantee of a return it won't happen, the odd bucket collection before a game won't cut it. So living within our means in the "shit market " as you put it is where we are, and we've done OK over the last 38 seasons.
  4. Realistically then where do you see the clubs ambition to be at each season, league champions, win a cup, top 4 finish, European football every year, given the budget under which we operate? As for the rookies / journeymen you mention whether that be players or managers, the harsh reality is that's the market we are in, people need to realise that the money we offer for salaries, player budgets, transfer fees etc etc is never going to attract any big name managers or players.
  5. A change for the better perhaps, i doubt it, it will be one at the top out, another from within will be promoted and it will be business as usual. They will appear to tinker with VAR, but it will still be the same shite technology and the same shitey operators implementing it. The whole refereeing set-up including VAR needs ripped out and started again with proper accountability and scrutiny in place.
  6. We know you dont like / rate him but you mention SK as "the budget option" implying we could have afforded better, who did you have in mind ?
  7. 100% agree, I've just watched the sportscene coverage and both Var decisions were a feckin disgrace, and cost us the chance of at least a point yesterday. We all have a laugh at the ugly sisters when the moan about bad var calls, but all the clubs should be doing the same and calling g this nonsense out as its verging on incompetence now by the alleged officials who get away with shite like we saw yesterday with no fear of censure.
  8. The whole set up is not fit for purpose, bargin basement technology operated by officials of questionable ability and overseen by a culture of secrecy and no liability or acknowledgement of errors. The clubs have the power to get changes made and make the process more transparent and accountable but I won't be holding my breath waiting for that to happen.
  9. No professional football manager is going to take up a subs place on the bench with a player who is not fit to play as you never know how the game will go and what cover might be needed. So SK knew Ebiye was fit to play, hence his inclusion in the squad, but bringing on two academy players, both of whom are nowhere near ready for the 1st team instead of him when we were chasing the game was an error.
  10. Well said Dave, brining on two very inexperienced Academy players when we were chasing the game was a nonsense, both of them hardly touched the ball and as you say neither of them are ready for 1st team football. If he was on the bench Ebiye must be fit enough for 20 or 30 mins, so I can't understand why he was not brought on to add something different up front. In all not a good day re tactics, team formation, or team selection for SK and we let a poor Aberdeen side off the hook.
  11. Actually VAR cost us at least a point, not 1 Aberdeen player complained about a hand Ball, neither did that prick Collum he signalled goal. Then var got involved, if the check takes nearly 3 mins, 100 different freeze frame and slow mo replays, how is that a clear and obvious error ffs. Its a feckin shambles looking for reasons to disallow the goal, that's not what it was introduced for. It's ruining the game but the SFA don't have the balls to either improve it's use as has been seen elsewhere or just bin it altogether.
  12. Aye they did think that was during the Billy Davies era, as for a sair Skelping as nice as that would be, I'll settle for any sort of win and 3 pts.
  13. A point each for Dundee and Aberdeen and 3 points for Ross County would be my preferred results tonight.
  14. The WS are the majority shareholder at the club ffs organising bucket collections to raise funds is not good optics. As a one off for a specific purpose yes but any more than that and it's begging bowl territory. Unless the WS suddenly gets a few thousand more contributing members, they are probably at the limit of how much cash they can raise, a very limited fan base results in a very limited cash flow.
  15. There won't be a lot of love up there for him if that's true.
  16. Players suddenly don't develop talent and improve just by moving clubs it's always there so maybe Davidson could not see it and utilise the player to get the best from him as well as SK has.
  17. Quite simple really cashing in on a once in a lifetime season I assume for a large signing on fee and vastly increased wages, doing the same as Higdon did, who can blame him.
  18. A stupid appointment in the 1st place, he's left them in a worse position league wise than when he took over, the Cormack and Burrows dream team are doing well.
  19. The best policy with regard to the ugly sisters and their followers is to completely ignore anything they say or do, especially on social media.
  20. 38 years in the top flight, So we have another 2 or 3 seasons in the premiership then we'll be within 3 mins of injury time to win the title and make the champions league before we fail. 🤔
  21. You do realise that the comment was very tounge in cheek and a bit of sarcastic banter, as a bit of a change from all the dubious biblical themed attempts at humour. Or should hello moses welcome to the promised land of Fir park be the standard greeting?
  22. VAR, especially the bargin basement version we have in Scotland is a shambles, and combined with the very poor standard of refereeing we have its not fit for purpose. Plus it's the fact that the ugly sisters are not getting it all their own way re decisions thats really annoying them. But as we all know the SFA / SPFL will do feck all about it so we are stuck with it ruining the game as if we don't have enough issues in Scottish football.
  23. Hearts / Hibs is the same sad sectarian shite we get in the West but on a much smaller scale the bigotry and bile is still there. Rangers. fans portray themselves as the sons of William, the Gorgie hoardes are the cousins of William. The Edinburgh backside is not as big as the Glasgow one but two cheeks just the same.
  24. I know I usually ignore your posts but in this case you have a point, lets enjoy the win but some folk just can't help themselves.
