  1. Robinson has been basically losing most weeks for two years now, starting with our 2020 slump and continuing into his Morecambe and St Mirren spells. I liked him as manager for us and its easy to get nostalgic given our current form but it seems like he's still making a lot of the same mistakes he always has.
  2. It seems like the standard of goalkeeper available to clubs like us has improved massively, to the point that most teams in the league are relatively happy with their #1s. I'd obviously still rather not lose Kelly, but over the last decade (or slightly longer) we've had Ruddy, Randolph, Carson, Gillespie and now Kelly. Definitely feels like an upgrade on the 2000s squads anyway.

    Alexander.

    Dundee have just hired him.

    Alexander.

    Think he's a vegan tbf
  5. Sounds like there's a common denominator.
  6. Yeah it probably wouldn't be my preferred option either. I'm still baffled at how little Slattery and Tierney have played during this run.
  7. I think for a 4-4-2 to work it might have to be a lopsided McGhee style (I know) one with 3 central midfielders and one winger. Something like O'Hara Slattery Donnelly Woolery
  8. Has Donnelly ever been that good? He went through a purple patch scoring wise and I don't think he's a terrible player but I've never thought for any length of time that he's consistently been a stand out for us or anything.
  9. They've drawn with us twice, Hearts and Aberdeen once each and won every other game.
  10. To drop out the Top Six would mean St Mirren, Aberdeen or Livingston finishing above us. We've been the better team in every single game against those teams this season bar the St Mirren home game where we were still robbed of 3 points, so missing out to one of them would definitely be a massive disappointment.
  11. Am I misunderstanding or are you just very confident we're winning 2-1 next week? Edit: nevermind I think I understand now. Last one is the Raith game?
  12. I wish we'd signed an out and out striker too- and we've certainly had our fair share of shite wide attackers recently- but we must be the only fanbase in the world where just "being a winger" is a black mark against your name
  13. I think Steelboy's essentially saying that if we go 10 games without a win (excluding the Morton result) then the manager will be under pressure. Which I think is an accurate point, I'm just not really sure how relevant it is.
  14. I thought we were genuinely really impressive in the 1-1 against Rangers last January in Alexander's 2nd or 3rd game in charge. It's a bit concerning that after a year and with on paper a better squad we've not been able to replicate that performance.
  15. We'll take 7 points from the next 4 games
  16. To be fair if we won tomorrow I'd be pretty fucking annoyed if we then missed out on top 6
  17. Thought we lost the midfield when Slattery went off.
  18. Late late, extremely dodgy winner for us tonight please.
  19. I usually think you lean towards pessimism but are at least grounded in reality but I don't really see where you're coming from with this. KVV is as mercurial a forward as we've had in years, Woolery and Shields both have pace to burn, Roberts is good for a spectacular goal now and then and Slattery and Goss are both very technically capable in midfield. Even the likes of Mugabi rampaging up and down the flank has been a laugh this season, and there's no reason Tierney, Shaw and Efford couldn't all be exciting players for us. You might think all of the above are inconsistent/pish- and I'd agree with you on a few- but it's far from the most workmanlike squad we've had in recent seasons. There was a while were our striking options were Main, Bowman, Sammon and Johnson, and our "flair" players were Elliot Frear and Gael Bigirimana.
  20. I tried but lost count after the first 5 minutes
  21. Would hope Slattery and possibly Shaw rectify that
  22. Not signing a striker would be incredibly weird given how achievable Europe is and how big it could be for us.
  23. I think Taylor would have been good for us. Decent at heading the ball away when not required to do any passing. Academic though as Sol, Mugabi, Lamie and Ojala have all been outstanding this season.
