  1. I would hope after that big win for them they stumble, it’s rare for a struggling team to have two games in a row like that.
  2. Given their away record is so poor you could of course argue they are such a poor team that without the plastic pitch they would be cut adrift down at the bottom.
  3. Very good point for me, I’m happy with that.
  4. Overall I’m happy to give him a shot, he is going to get next season as well which is a bit of a risk if he bombs but we will see. Hopefully we can all get behind him and move forward in a positive manner.
  5. I would imagine Ross county had a hell of a budget for the championship. I seem to remember when they knocked us out of the Scottish cup it was said their playing budget was bigger than ours.
  6. I think we would be crazy to offer a long term contract to someone that’s won two games of football, if he has a better offer elsewhere that’s fine by me. His record at Ross County in the Premiership while in sole charge was 29%. I think he needs to show he can make it at the top level before we start offering two or three year contracts.
  7. Not sure about fairly early doors but certainly a good couple of months ago which I still believe should have happened. Do we know for sure there are only two candidates with the qualities the board feel are appropriate or is this just paper talk ? As with yourself I’m not over enthused by either of the individuals mentioned. If there are other candidates then obviously they need to be considered but it feels a little like last time with Hammell when the boards seemed to jump In rather early with a decision based more on the individuals background with the club than his ability to be a successful manager.
  8. I’m in two minds if it is Kettlewell. Yesterday was head and shoulders above the performances under Hammell but it is only two games with a new manager bounce, we had the same with Hammell.
  9. A perfect example of how a group of players can look completely different under a different manager, the no hopers under anyone now have six points in two games which we would not have gained under Hammell. Organisation, workrate, confident, just night and day.
  10. The first half tells me you can actually polish a turd. We look way better under Kettlewell.
  11. I just want all the words, managers seem to like calling it “ Noise” these days backed up with a performance and result. I’ve no doubt Robinson is going to make it as hard as possible.
  12. I would prefer to appoint someone now that would also stay on if we do get relegated but I’m in the minority.
  13. I’d be amazed if both Goodwin and Ross are not shortlisted, I’d be amazed if Lambert is. If I had a choice I would go for Ross who does have a good win percentage of near 50 percent and has had success in both the first division and championship. He got Alloa promoted as he did with St Mirren. He also got Sunderland to the play off finals and was sacked with them in 6th. Hibs could have given him longer, Dundee United was a disaster but that’s Dundee United.
  14. The last thing we needed for a squad of players lacking belief and technical ability was a rookie manager but for some reason the board went down that line. It was pretty much doomed from the off.
  15. I’m not sure at this point they are capable of a big reaction, the confidence and coaching is none existent. Robinson must be rubbing his hands with glee.
  16. They have both had success at previous clubs. Aberdeen have been a basket case of a club for years so I tend to ignore them, no idea if anyone will work there. Maybe neither will apply but I don’t think they can be discounted. I would rather that than just a list of the usual suspects that have managed for donkeys years and get mentioned every time a job is available.
  17. I would still prefer longer term thinking with the manager we appoint being the one to try and bring us back up should we be relegated. But it needs to be the right appointment.
  18. As I mentioned previously even in my short time supporting the club I’ve noticed a decline in the quality of players signed and even those we had six years ago took some stick, that has to be the starting point. In my opinion Martin Foyle was a better judge of a potential player even at our budget level. With the quality of players we have now we need a manager that can work with players of a lower technical ability, keep it simple, stick with the same formation, and concentrate on fitness and organisation, everyone playing in their dedicated position if possible and knowing what’s expected of them, as with the National league down south that alone will see us picking up points. We are never going to have a huge budget but even with our crowds with the right appointments will can survive.
  19. The Cowley brothers were on big money at Portsmouth.
  20. I would think both Goodwin and Ross would be in the picture, If either are appointed it would probably be better to see it as a long term project and retain them even if we go down.
