  1. Horrible weather but even worse football.
  2. You realise it’s nailed on that White will score.
  3. Yes it’s got to be 100% support then it’s down to the players, they need to stop talking the talk and start walking the walk.
  4. But of a strange one, Gillingham are bottom of league two and he’s scored one league goal all season, difficult to find much positivity on the Gillingham forum from having a quick look. Not sure if Hammell knows the guy.
  5. Sadly my teen years were spent watching York propping the division up applying for re-election from it. Miserably times football wise going to night games in January with 1200 other people.
  6. The York chairman has stated they are cheap options with the two of them costing less than one player signed from a second division club at the start of the season, cheap is of course relative. York is 49% percent fan owned and the chairman does not bankroll them, they are not Wrexham. The National league is full of clubs big and small loaning young hungry championship and premiership players looking to move from playing in reserve and academy football to full time mens football. What they have is a manager who was coaching and recruiting under Pochettino at Spurs and at Leeds, he appears to have lots of contacts and a knowledge of young exiting players who have developed over the last 10 years or so, in that there is an advantage.
  7. As above a huge game, we have to win this one, I fear the crowd turning if we start badly so an early goal please. 1-1.
  8. Can I use an example and mention York city yet again, playing at National league level. Shaqai Forde has just come in on a season long loan from Watford, four goals in one and a half games, will probably end up playing in the Premiership. Olli Tanner a winger from Cardiff, came on for them against Leeds last week again on a season long loan, turned down a move to Spurs, young and highly rated. York’s average attendance is around 5k this season, why can’t Motherwell look to players like this ?
  9. It would be nice to see one or two players coming on loan from the championship down south, yes it is possible if they are fringe players and it’s happening at other clubs. Maybe there is a reluctance from some to travel up to Scotland.
  10. Actually the old English fourth division.
  11. York were looking to sign two Stockport forwards on loan before the manager was sacked, I’m pretty sure he would be one of the two given his experience at nation league level. Pretty much in line with the level of player we’ve brought in over the last few years. Likes to take a player on but more an impact sub for them.
  12. I never saw any evidence there was one other than score a goal then get everyone behind the ball for the remaining 88 minutes.
  13. Folye was more successful in my view.
  14. I honestly would keep him, he’s under contract and will do well in the championship.
  15. Jeez so disappointing against a bloody poor Hibs team. So where do we go from here ? Can we stay up with Hammell in charge ?
  16. If we go down it’s major changes anyway. The wage bill will be dropped by some margin, every high earner will be leaving if the club can get rid. Kelly and Van Veen will be away. Strangly the likes of Shields will probably do well at championship level.
  17. Easy number three, we simply can’t do the basics. This is against a very poor Hibs team, we’ve just gifted them goals.
  18. As Lamie moved forward he clearly told Penny to watch Nesbit, Penny was way too slow to react.
  19. Lamie had to move, Penny was absolutely sleeping.
  20. That defending was nothing to do with midfield. The defence is yet again standing still, no organisation, no closing down players. We’re gifting the game to Hibs.
  21. Simple goal, again the basics not being done with dreadful awareness by Penney
  22. I thought Foyle did pretty well in truth given the pot he had to pick from.
  23. I honestly don’t see a change of tact from the club regarding recruitment. Everything will still be within budget, no major loosening of the purse strings, league of Ireland, lower league down south, better championship level in Scotland to carry on being the norm. I know it’s not want people want to here but it’s been that way for years and the club have made it very plain they won’t go overspending again. So for me as stated before as well as maybe two or three fairly predictable level signings the main thing is improving what we already have before it’s too late.
