  1. Robinson was manager last season and we had record season ticket sales this summer. He is clearly bringing extra supporters in, not driving them away. As you have said yourself the two cup finals meant nothing.
  2. 2-0 to Motherwell, Samson in goal is as good as a one goal start.
  3. That was my point, clubs panic as do a percentage of the fan base. Because as we all know the grass is always greener on the other side. Tony Pullis at Stoke, great job over a number of years but not enough for many fans, St Mirren fans hounded Danny Lennon out of the club when he’d been doing a more than acceptable job, that really ended up going well. I still tend to be of the opinion that the average professional football manager who has spent his whole adult life in the game knows slightly more about the game than 20 or so 14 year olds holding up banners outside the main stand of grounds around the UK.
  4. Very true, every manager has a sell by date, that does not make them a poor manager. Steve Clarke who seems to be loved on here was sacked by both Reading and West Brom, clearly not fit to manage. I can pretty much guarantee whoever replaces Robinson will get the same treatment shortly after the honeymoon period is over.
  5. A real shame and a big loss, good luck to him in the future.
  6. Ask the managers with a simular budget to ours their objective for the season. Dundee, Hamilton, St Johnstone, Livingstone, St Mirren and they would all say survival. In my view until the debt is paid off that’s also ours and as it stands Robinson is meeting that objective. He’s going to be here until the end of the season regardless while we stay out of the bottom two and I firmly believe that’s going to happen. In my view we just get behind him and let the board take a fresh look of things in the summer and go from there.
  7. It’s part of football these days and happens all the time, Celtic do it multiple times every season as do many other clubs down south.
  8. End of the day everything about tonight was the bigger picture, Robinson knew it was highly likely we were going to lose tonight regardless of what team he put out and our players were going to expel a hell of a lot of energy getting pulled all over the place by a technically superior team. The big game is Saturdays and that’s the one he’s prioritised and he’s hardly the first manager to do it and won’t be the last. It’s a risk and he knows if we fail to get the 3 points on Saturday a few on here and elsewhere will let him know about it big style. If we win however it’s been the right move in my view and brave management.
  9. If we get a hammering i’m guessing Robinson will come in for quite a bit of stick regardling team selection and more or less giving Celtic the 3 points. Not good for moral in truth but plenty of managers have done it before.
  10. Have to agree, playing our second choice front two against the best team in the league does not bode well, he may well have already written this one off. 4-0 i’m afraid.
  11. Is there any ref in Scotland people don’t have an issue with ? Let’s just concentrate on what we can influence and forget about how every ref is against us.
  12. Without the strengthening of the squad as a whole we would have been in deep trouble this season given the amount of injuries to key players. In my view new players take time to bed in at a new club and perhaps expectations were too high too early. We are certainly now beginning to see the benefit with I believe more to come from the likes of Gorin and who knows, maybe even dare I say Donnelly who is still only 22. There will always be dud signings but as the season progresses I would suggest maybe not as many as had been suggested a while ago.
  13. Obviously the toughest game any team is going to have in the league and I fear the defeat at Hibs just made it a lot more difficult with Rangers going top Celtic certainly won’t be resting any players and they are going to come at us big time. I guess try to keep it tight and frustrate the home fans is probably the way to go.
  14. Looking at the highlights we had quite a few chances in that second half.
  15. But extremely unlikely, we will take at least another couple of wins meaning they would both need to win half a dozen games.
  16. A win on Saturday and we are 12 points better than St Mirren with a far better goal difference and a game in hand. Given both St Mirren and Dundee have only won two games all season it would take some turn around in fortunes even this early in the season for them to overtake us. We would need to just about fail to win another game all season. Respect to all those that travelled in such terrible conditions, hope they all get home safely, it’s dreadful here in Kirkintilloch.
  17. Dundee losing, St Mirren losing, us winning, blow the whistle now refs.
  18. Carson is going to struggle to get back in the team when the time comes.
  19. As it states the playing budget saw a “ modest increase” . To be fair getting to cup finals is more than just gate money. It’s prize money, hospitality, increased merchandise sales ( they ran out of replica tops and the club had no half price kit sales they always do after Christmas), extra exposure for the football club, increased season ticket sales, to name just a few things.
