The quality in this league is not great so it’s certainly a plus but they won’t be near winning the league.

Aldred by a mile ? All our central defenders have made mistakes this season yet it’s always McHugh who gets highlighted by some who simply can’t tolerate him. He’s been our best centre half by some way this season up to this point. I like Aldred and Hartley but McHugh has got us out of trouble a few times.

Hearts we bang average at best, the fact they are top of the league tells a lot about the quality of Scottish football. They spent 60 minutes of the game time wasting.

McHugh actually had a very good game blighted by one stupid hospital pass.

Don’t agree. I think McHugh will be straight back into midfield. Gorrin has already shown he could be a very useful player. As for Turnbull he will make progress at the club if he is good enough as every player does at any club, it’s up to him to take his chance when he gets it, no player holds another player back.

Robinson has stated we now have more options and this is an example. McHugh will come back into midfield when Dunn returns and we now have Gorrin to add to the mix along with Grimshaw.

I was far from his biggest fan last season and felt a few on here were just over rating the guy. However this season he’s certainly proven me wrong. He’s now pivotal to how we perform and his addition has seen a move away from our long ball style with the ball now played through midfield far more often.

Could we maybe just blame no one and enjoy the win ?

Great result and I echo the point just made on super scoreboard that Robinson continues to do a fantastic job.

Tanner to come back, Bowman coming back to fitness, and don’t rule out Gorrin getting better and better if given a chance, along with Johnson one or two of the close season signings show promise.

I think it’s highly unlikely biggi will be dropped now. He’s getting better every game and Robinson is not that daft, he knows there would be a backlash if he now dropped him.

I tell it as I see it on a game by game basis. When you go into a game with the mentality that the ref is a “cheating prick” before a ball is even kicked it’s pretty easy to work out what your opinion is going to be after the game regardless of how he does. Speaking to a couple of Rangers fans from work after the game they thought he had it in for Rangers right from the off and was going to find a way to rob them of three points regardless so again conspiracy theories.

It just showed again what we are capable of if our heads are in the game. It was mentioned on tv on more than one occasion that it felt like a cup tie and that’s when we are at our best, drop the intensity and we look a poor team. As of last season we won’t be troubling the bottom two again this season despite some of the early fears, we have more than enough to stay well away from that position. Top six I think will be a step too far but you never know, depends on Dunn staying fit and Johnson developing further which i’m sure he will. Big plus is Main starting to look like his old self and Bowman coming back which gives us good options up front, with Sammon and Tanner also in the mix I don’t see goals being a problem as we move forward. Gorrin also has a big part to play for me and Biggi just keeps improving. Yes as I guess you all realise by now i’m a glass half full guy so maybe over optimistic but signs today we could have a half decent season again.

Overall no better or worse than other refs up here where the standard is pretty low anyway, not a fan of the whole anti Motherwell thing unless someone can explain why he would be ? The Rangers player should certainly have been booked but he did book Halliday for a similar thing, think the other booking they received was for a late tackle with Campbell maybe slightly unlucky when he was booked for catching the guys foot but hardly an outrageous decision. Aldred was given lots of chances before his booking so again fair enough for me. There was a hell of a lot going on from both sides in my view and it was a pretty high tempo game. Not an easy game to ref and yes he got things wrong but overall I thought he did ok.

Johnson has been struggling to make the 90 minutes in fairness and i’m guessing that’s the reason he was taken off, he’s certainly getting more up to speed though. But yep I would have taken Rose off for sure.

It won’t be, it was a bit of a cheap shot though but never going to be seen as a red.
