  1. No excuse for it though, we’re a mentally weak team with no leaders, nothing has changed that way.
  2. I wish he would sound a little more positive on camera, you come away from watching his interviews feeling depressed.
  3. The league and players down south are a million miles away from the Scottish Premiership.
  4. The football on the whole may be but the win percentage is certainly not and that’s the thing that depends where we finish this season. We’ve had a run of tough games but that’s not the case after the break and regardless of the entertainment level that’s the stat that needs to change. There needs to be an understanding of why some players are going backwards, why we look so disorganised, he’s been hit by injuries for sure but with a fully fit squad there is not going to be the same excuses. He can’t go on forever stating “it’s disappointing” in just about every post match interview.
  5. And that’s why it comes back to improving those we already have, we’re not going to bring in half a dozen quality players.
  6. Good point on paper of course but also one win in the last eight, things need to improve dramatically after the break if we don’t want to hit that bottom two. Hopefully we can get everyone fit and Hammell manages to sign two or three players that can strengthen the squad but of course everyone else will be looking to do the same thing.
  7. Yes I’m pretty surprised we’ve not seen a change in midfield with all three very much out of form.
  8. I see this as a really big game, team moral but also every three points against teams at our level are now crucial. Everyone is assuming we’re going to have a really good transfer window but there are no guarantees.
  9. We pretty quickly went from bringing through Scott, Turnbull, Hastie, and already having Campbell and things looking very rosy to losing them all.
  10. Very difficult to see anything other than a defeat but my goodness even a point would be a huge bonus.
  11. It’s not that they can’t do a job, it’s the fact they have both gone backwards. Slattery was the best midfielder we had at one point and Goss was getting better and better, they both now look a shadow of their former selves.
  12. You sum it up perfectly for me mate, I get that people are protective because of who the manager is but we’re now a few weeks down the line and if anything we’re actually getting worse. I just don’t believe he is getting the best out of what he has available and we’re still making the same basic mistakes. Tracking back, workrate, basic organisation, putting in a tackle, confidence levels seem to have dropped, the players don’t appear to be responding to our manager the way I would have expected. Thank god for the three points last week but even that was a huge struggle against 10 men. You are correct in stating there are no leaders and that’s not his fault but I’m genuinely worried in a way I never have been in the past that we could actually be relegated if we allow things to carry on sliding.
  13. IF we can get him fit he would be the difference between the struggle it is now and a comfortable position but again as above we need to start getting the basics right with the other players, and it is the basics.
  14. Not to this degree, I know it’s not popular to post anything linked to the coaching, just my opinion.
  15. Sorry but in my opinion we’ve turned into a disorganised mess.
  16. Those 3 points last week were crucial, the team is going backwards.
  17. Of course this is the case, it’s a two way thing. I also find it quite strange when supporters believe you can just offload players while still under contract with no penalty. You’re not suddenly paying out less in wages simply because you have to pay them off. Now of course if they ask to leave to join another club that’s a different matter. Maybe there is another Premiership club wanting to sign Shields on the same or better wages and he’s willing to move but I would not put money on it.
  18. I can’t criticise his work ethic, always puts a shift in but by now I would have expected him to have pushed on and that’s not really happened in truth, maybe just a level too high. I had high hopes of D Johnstone when he joined us, again neat and tidy and put a shift in but just a level too high. He’s now flying down south scoring goals for fun but at his natural level.
  19. Are we playing well enough to come away from anything in this one, probably not I’m afraid. 2-0 to hearts.
  20. I’m surprised the pundits don’t understand that play continues at times, it’s worked like that down south for ages, maybe they only watch Scottish football,
  21. Anyway getting away from VAR which I think is going to dominate discussions from now on a very important three points.
  22. Reading a couple of forums VAR is driving people apoplectic, they are going to need to chill out because it’s here, and things will never be the same.
  23. Listen regardless of the performance this is a massive 3 points, I don’t care if it was a red, how poor the midfield is, we take the points and move on.
  24. So why is he on the bench if he can’t play ?
  25. Of course he has, Moult is sitting on the bench.
