  1. Yes, 4 crucial games at a crucial time. As you have often pointed out, he has had a generally poor win record, but more often than not, Robinson has an ability to get the team to perform when really needed. I think the timing of the shift of style is an interesting one. Was it out of necessity to survive or desperation for his job retention? Or, to play devils advocate, has it always been planned to be so? I mean, perhaps he’s chosen to change now because the likes of Turnbull and Hastie are now ready to come through and have a new style of play built around them? is it a coincidence that the change came just before a transfer window? I honestly don’t know and won’t ever likely know, but either way, I hope the new style takes on whichever way it’s come about.
  2. I remember saying on this thread during the summer that I suspected the reasoning behind the re-signing of the likes of Rose and Grimshaw and 1 year deals for the new signings was to make weight and mark time for the youth coming through. It just might be coming to fruition.
  3. Theo Robinson loaned out to Swindon.
  4. An awful lot of wishful thinking. Main is not good enough to get in the Luton team
  5. You’ve nailed it. Taking the emotion out of the situation, this is a really well considered take on the difficult decision that the board will have to make. For a club with our limited level of spending capacity, the appointment of the manager is perhaps the riskiest decision of all and one that cannot be made on impulse or in any way reactionary without consideration being made to all factors. Nothing in life is guaranteed and there a number of external variables that could play out to our detriment between now and the end of the season. Like any decision when considering risk and consequence, there are patterns and trends that will enable justification for a decision though. Both St Mirren and Dundee have changed manager to little effect. As shite as it is, the likelihood of a sharp upward trend in our performances is unlikely if we changed manager. Our current trend with the current manager should be enough to see us through. For me, if he was to be sacked this season, then he should’ve been given his jotters in the Autumn. My heart says punt him and punt him now and my head says let him go to the end of the season and begin looking for his replacement now.
  6. Lots of reignited memories.

    retro kits

Yes, I’ve had mine a couple of years and it continues to look good with no flaws. the only problem is that it is a little on the slim side.......though it did fit me better when I bought it a couple of years ago. So maybe not the shirts fault.

    retro kits

I got the Adidas one on an eBay site a few years back. Perhaps the same trader. I will keep checking the site and will definitely buy an Umbro one https://aztecretro.com/search?q=Motherwell+

That Umbro kit is my all time favourite. I’m showing my age, it’s the one I wore whilst playing for motherwell boys club all those years ago. Is that Aztec retro legit trader?
  10. On series planner................Nice one grizzlyg
  11. Oh good god ...... make it stop!!!!! i blame you for this grizzlyg !!!!
  12. This. Luton scored 90odd goals on the way to promotion last season and have taken league 1 by storm. Their fans have become accustomed to a high energy passing game. whoever they appoint is going to be critical and given that we’re in the window, they’ll want to do it quickly. I would wager that Robinson will not be appointed. Paul Hurst would be my punt.
  13. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!
  14. LOL I was in New York for a course last month and it got to the point where I was involuntarily silently screaming every time I heard “Awesome, great job”. Like nails on a blackboard
  15. I wasn’t trolling Yodo. Thanks Supermarv. As it goes, I’d like to see that formation given a whirl too. I suppose the only question would be around whether we would have the players with the passing and game management attributes to play it.
  16. With the alignment of the text going all wonky, I’m guessing what formation that is. Is it 4231?
  17. Is FFS in the Oxford Guide to English Usage and Fowler's?
  18. I remember there being quite a bit of a buzz about this lad a few years back in league 1 and even as recently as last January, he was rumoured to be coming on loan to Charlton. Both of his loan moves last season were bad ones as both Northampton and MK Dons were utterly woeful. There’s no doubt the boy has talent but as said above, he’s had some injuries that have stunted progress whilst suffering from being in some pretty poor teams. I wonder if his an Ross Mac’s arrival will signal a 4231 formation for the remainder of the season?
  19. Definitely. I was talking to a group of Plymouth fans when they came to the valley towards the end of last season and they were saying that Ainsworth had barely kicked a ball since the early part of the season. There were mixed views about him. Some believed he wasn’t good enough to get into (what was then) a winning team. Others had said they’d heard rumours that Adams had frozen him out and was looking to offload him last summer. In the same conversation, they were far from complimentary about Carl McHugh for the way he left them and Adams was like a Demi-God.
  20. A bit harsh. It’s definitely been an excruciating wait. I’ve been clicking the news now refresh button today far more than a normal January day. I don’t think it’s fair to shoot the messenger though. All it serves to do is make those who do hear some inside news and willing to share it as they heard it, clam up.
  21. Days old information for someone in the know or a top trump claim but someone who isn’t in the know but is loosely connected to someone in the know and likes to chat ‘cryptic pish’? I’ve got a black cat, what colour is yours?
