  1. What's this 'got dropped for David Turnbull two years ago' chat? Cause your talking absolute shite, thats a few times you've hit out with it as well. See if your going to have a pop at a player, have some grounds for it.
  2. I kind of thought Similar, the squad has been playing reasonably well up until Saturday so it has given the new boys a chance to integrate a bit more before being chucked in. Either way we have been EXTREMELY unlucky with injuries this season.
  3. Stayed away from reading anything about Saturday, a really hard one to take, performance was miles off it. I must admit I thought we would turn up, get the three points and move on, which in hindsight was very naive giving how Hamilton played against Rangers the previous week. We started the game terribly but I still thought once we get going we will be fine, the red card and penalty killed it as a contest, and that is pretty much how our entire season has went, nothing has really went out way, some things you can control, some things are in the hands of the officials. I am not sure we have had a dodgy penalty all season, or a marginal offside call go in our favour but we have had plenty the other way. Saying that, the Ref got the penalty and red card spot on this time so I have no complaints, you need to make your own luck, and we don't. Don't think anyone comes out of Saturday with any credit, players and management will know that. We are all well aware that anyone can beat anyone in this league out with the top two at any given point and 9 times out of 10 could just about to accept it, what makes this result worse is the fact we have now dropped 9 points out of 9 this season, and not beat them in 5 now. anyway, we move on, suspect we will see a few changes to the team on Saturday.
  4. Going down the St mirren route doesn't fill anyone with Joy but did Burrows not say he would like to go down the Scandanavian route from our travels over there in Europe. Obviously money will be a major factor but at least there is aspirations to not go for bog standard basic package.
  5. I've never really bought into thr plastic park excuse but the park was rotten tonight. Quite a few occasions players slipped, on both sides. Collum ran the show, couldn't keep the whistle out his mouth. O'donnell can feel hard done by getting booked Defended very well. Played little football but when we did we cut them open and had two great chances before scoring. Would have been happy with a point before kick off, even more happy with a point at half time so delighted with all three now. Beat Accies on Saturday and there is a chance of top 6.
  6. Sympathy for the players. Park is murder.
  7. Haha, that is very true. Can't really argue too much with that. Same with the second point as well tbf, I suppose the two wins gave Alexander an excuse to stick with the same team whilst the new guys bed in, get used to the new surroundings and get up to speed. Nolan and Foley haven't played in a while, same with Lawless who has a slight niggle at the moment. Roberts played some football at hearts but the front three are the hardest to drop at the moment, out with Kelly, I think he will prove useful, looked very quick in his brief run out at celtic park. Magloire is much the same, played a few games in the first half of the season however for all of Lamie's doubters, he actually played pretty well against Utd so dropping him would have been harsh. Quite a few games coming up, a few Saturday, Wednesday slots so maybe see some slight rotation.
  8. I'd love to be able to agree with all of this, but I was told yesterday that sticking with a team that is winning is dinosaur stuff so god knows where that leaves us.
  9. A silly kick? not to bring attention to the situation but I am going to assume you are kidding.
  10. Dinosaur stuff? sticking with a team that will be getting some confidence back over guys who are just in the door and haven't kicked a ball in months isn't dinosaur stuff. Far from it.
  11. Your not going to change a team that is off the back of two wins.
  12. Wasn't a penalty so can't have too many complaints. Singling Chris Long out for being a waste of a jersey is very harsh. Don't think anyone has had a particularly good game. Midfield are non existent, balls into the front three are terrible. We aren't moving the ball well enough, couple of passes and going long, that's bread and butter for Celtic. Saying that, Celtic pressing us very well. 1-0, still in it. Big second half required.
  13. apparently o'hara was touch and go last night so could be back in the frame for Saturday or Wednesday.
  14. Couldn't agree more with this. Kind of in the Andy Rose mould, goes from to game being under appreciated by fans but his team mates realise the work he puts in.
  15. you could make a case for most players on the park to be honest, Cole, Watt and Long were excellent. Liam Kellly made some big saves at the end, three in the middle done well. Defence was solid for the most part. since no one else has mentioned him, I thought Robbie Crawford done well, get's unfairly criticised most weeks for some reason. MOTM has to go to Cole though, excellent.
  16. The two I am quite eager to see are Nolan and the the boy from Blackburn, see if this pace is all a myth. regarding Gallagher, playing between now and the end of the season are in his best interests with the euro's, so I doubt he will be anything other than professional about it all and as folk have mentioned there is probably a gentleman's agreement he can go in the summer. I obviously don't know that for certain, a pure stab in the dark but the club tend to be fairly reasonable on that front.
  17. In a perfect world, that would be the way to go. Like I said, I think the recruitment has been sensible, without having anyone jumping with joy, the good thing is most are only on 6 month deals, so there will be BIG changes come the summer you would imagine. out of interest, who would you like us to look at ? I am not expecting you to pull 10-15 names out your arse, because well that's the Job of the scouting team. I have been quite impressed with Kerr Mcinroy at Dunfermline, admittedly having only seen him a handful of times, think he is loan from Celtic and out of contract in the summer. There was also a boy at Raith a few years ago, Kieron Bowie who I think is with Fulham, no idea how he is getting on but he looked a talent.
  18. As Stu says, the last time we made a signing I was genuinely excited about was Ross Mccormack, and we all know how that panned out. All in all, I would say it is a sensible window. A solid keeper, a reliable winger, Smith looks handy enough, Foley and Nolan add some experience and hopefully some grit to what is a very young squad. Can't say I am a huge fan of Roberts, but that is based purely on what I am hearing from Hearts fans, that said, we have been through this before with Carroll and Aldred so we should know by now to take those kind of comments with a pinch of salt.
  19. With regards to that pass, the idea was spot on, it was the pass I was shouting at the tele for him to make, the execution was rotten but I am not going to slate someone for trying to make something happen. Had we conceded I doubt i'd be saying the same thing but we didn't. which youth players are you referring to? I suppose the players in question are Barry Maguire and Dean Cornelius, I thought Maguire was excellent against County and hope he keeps his place. With Cornelius I hear he is very well thought of, and other than his cameo against utd and livingston two seasons ago, I know nothing of him but given the situation we are in with a midfield that looks pretty young and inexperienced I think making it even younger and less experienced is the last thing we need, sometimes as fans we are slightly blinded by how good our own actually are in comparison to player x we signed from club y. Cornelius, if good enough will get his chance, we just need to steady the ship a bit first.
  20. He is in the done a job Category, with Donnelly and O'Hara out, I'm happy for him to hang around.
  21. Now head teacher, not sure she was my teacher at any point however she was definitely there.
