Well Stevie Clark showed tonight he doesn’t rate Liam Kelly . A nothing friendly and he doesn’t give him a half hope nothing happens to Gordon in the future cause we haven’t tested another goalkeeper in a international match

I reckon he is so anti-another keeper like Kelly that he would rather bring back Marshall should Gordon be unavailable. Dont understand his thinking at all.

Spittal  and McKinstry have scored 3 of our 6 goals in October. McKinstry, Spittal getting better every game. Moult looking the part again. These 3 are key to our success or not.

Agree with this completely. I also think that Van Veen will be a better player with Moult alongside him.

At least today's performance proved that we need several players in January. Whether thats remotely possible or feasible, I don't know.

For starters, a commanding centre back who can organise. In midfield some pace please and an experienced old head as an anchor in front of the defence. Oh, and two strikers.

If we could start with the two strikers who played most of the second half I would be happy (big if though).

As Ive said before and im still sorry to say it but Moult is clearly finished and he is a waste of a squad number and wages.

Aarons might as well be sent on his way also as we cant afford to carry 2 crocks.

For me, we need a CB, CM and CF.

Yesterday really highlighted for me how poor Shields is and Barry Maguire is utterly hopeless, he might actually be our worst 1st team squad player.

I completely agree with you about Moult, Aarons, Shields and particularly Maguire, on top of that I think our most disappointing player is Slattery who I think is going through the motions.

Good point,we are definitely leaderless at the back, both goals we conceded yesterday could maybe have been prevented with a bit of communication between our centre half's,why we were defending so high up at the first goal when we have no pace at the back is a mystery and the second goal for the aberdeen player to be in between the centre half's 6 yards out in a joke and that's not the first time we have lost a goal like that this season.there doesn't seem to be any reaction when we lose goals, they just stand around looking at each other which is frustrating.we have serious issues defending as a team that's needs addressed and quick,we have been well in all these games that we have lost by the odd goal but we can't keep giving the opposition an average of two a game,if we can remotely tighten up at the back we can easily turn these tight games into more points.

I dont think our centre backs are up to much but imo the second goal was down to McGinn allowing the Aberdeen left back get in behind him because of loss of concentration.

First home game I've been to this season because of work and I was sorely disappointed by the quality on the park. Spital is a fraud. One of the worst players I've seen. Looked burst in the second half.

Van Veen is not mobile enough. Their first goal was speed and a tidy finish. Van Veen continually dithered on the ball and the one opportunity to make a pass, took the selfish option.  If we don't work as a team we will continue on this run. And to have a go at Peeney was the last straw. I'd have hooked him . He needs an attitude adjustment.

I felt Kelly could have just clattered into the boy. Put pressure on him for the first goal. He came out, stopped and it gave the lad enough time to pick his chip shot.

Peeney was shocking first half and improved inthe second. Second half he put a couple crosses in which seemed out only genuine plan.

All in all the summer window will cost us. I can see us sitting in the bottom 2 by the January window and we seriously need bodies in to avoid the drop. Our form since January 2022 has been one of the worst in my lifetime.

The standout: Mckinstry looked good and was often open on the second half. We decided to force things down the right for some reason and every cross hit the first man.  Switch it up Motherwell. So easy to play against.

Manager doesn't know his best team and is tactically inept. I'd have matched Aberdeen's formation as they constantly had the wingbacks available through the game.

A sore one in the end. Also what's the point of VAR when it's clear the cooper stand seen a foul and it's not looked at.

    Terrible end to the game.

I agree with what you are saying, my comment would be that I dont think Van Veen is a sole target man and needs someone to play that role beside him, god only knows who if Moult isnt fit.

Hopefully we can get Efford and Moult back in amongst the squad. Tierney too lightweight, I would much rather Cornelius.

The quality of balls up to Van Veen have to be better, and we need to get up and support him. I’d actually like to see us go 3-5-2 for this and get Penney & McGinn up and down the flanks.

I dont really dissagree with 3-5-2 but, given our centre back situation, I personally would play McGinn in the back 3 with O'Donnell on the right of a five.

I remember the fans crying out for entertainment when Alexander was apparently stinking the joint up.

Under the previous manager we got two draws at Ibrox and a draw at Fir Park against Rangers, which is decent going, but none of that really mattered. He came in when we were looking terrible, and guided us to an 8th place finish, then a 5th place finish and a quarter final in the Scottish Cup in his first full season.

All in all, a decent record, even if the season was a bit mental with that run without a win from end of December until March.

But, many fans were quick to say that they paid their money to be entertained, so we're getting what we wanted. One way to look at it is if we're in 9th or 10th at the tail end of the season it's going to be exciting watching to see if we can play our way out of relegation trouble.

That's maybe better value for money than holding Rangers to a draw at Ibrox and boring 5th or 6th place finish.

If we're wanting entertaining football which also puts wins on the board then it's going to be really difficult to get that with our budget. I wouldn't bet on Guardiola accomplishing that at Motherwell, never mind Stevie Hammell. As things are we're certainly easier on the eye, but that comes with more risk and a higher chance of mistakes being made that could cost us. Just the way it is.

Or losing twice to an Irish team!

Watched highlights to see if goals were as bad as I first thought to then discover they were worse!!!. The first goal is an absolute joke with 5 of our players not capable of putting in a challenge. The 2nd yet another howler from big bevis as nowhere near his man. He is a cracking big guy but hopefully Lamie injury not bad as if we are having to rely on Sol and Bevis as a partnership it really gives me the fear

If Lamie hadnt been injured the first goal wouldnt have happened. Mugabe is a total bombscare.

Will GSTQ be played? Will there be a minute silence? Would it be respected?

I wouldn’t condone booing during a minute silence, despite my feelings about the monarchy, but I would imagine not one ground in the country (Ibrox aside) will manage a full minute without a fair few boos. I’m of the opinion it’s best to just leave it.

I tend to agree my only comment is that the song is now GSTK.

Don’t like bringing politics into this forum but Scotland can produce/export  as much energy as you like but until those producers are publicly owned the price we pay will be linked to the profit the company can make. Corrupt government at Westminster, Holyrood or wherever.

    Completely agree!!

I would argue that we (decent members of society) should be campaigning to bring down the corrupt government at Westminster before we start to rev ert to an early 20th century lifestyle to mitigate impacts of cost/shortage. Scotland is a net exporter of energy, yet we are shafted. The solution doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out.

Dont agree with either what you say or whether we should be discussing politics on here.

Also, as being of a certain age and remembering the 3-day week which was in the 1970's (I was at college at the time) is certainly not early 20th century.

Looking at the way we are playing now what’s obvious is Alexander actually signed some good players.  Goss, Slattery, Tierney, Spittal, McGinn, for starters, he just refused to let them play.

For sure! And that doesn't count in Van Veen.

Quite a few of his Scotland u17 team mates moved to bigger clubs during the summer so getting him signed was great work by the club. We lost Bailey Rice to Rangers, Ben Doak went from Celtic to Liverpool, Rory Wilson from Rangers to Aston Villa and Charlie McArthur Kilmarnock to Newcastle. We obviously can't match wages with bigger clubs but we can offer first team football.
