He played very well when we drew 1-1 with Celtic in November. I agree he's got his faults and his weak points but I don't think he's as bad as some people are suggesting. I think it's been obvious when he's lost confidence. Not just him either.

I might regret typing this given that we have a game tonight.Β

For sure he's a confidence player.Β  He did get us a few points when on form. Will be tough game tonight.Β

Do you get off on mocking other peoples points of view?

Sorry it was meant as a joke. Your right he had some good saves early in career. 1 on 1 s. Reflex saves pretty good and we gained points but well below par at crosses and poor distribution. Teams aware of his failings now.

This is a guy who managed 24 goals in 139 games in League One in England. That works out roughly at a goal every ten games or so.Β

Van veen scored 36 in 49 games in Dutch football which you didn't include in stats, and div 1 is higher level than spl so it's not too surprising to see record increase. Also Spittal has always scored for teams he has played for and got assists. Ross county wanted to keep him.Β

Yep i agree with a fair few of you i been going for around 45 years now to Fir Park i am nearly 50 years old and i am at the stage where i am so bored of the club it just feels like groundhog day more so last couple of years its been terrible.

Now i make a round trip of nearly 70 miles,i dont drive so i am at the stage where do i really need this, the x amount i am spending could go on something elseΒ  and the big question is would i really miss it alot enough to care.

This has nothing to do with the fact we got beat by Morton as someone said above used to its nothing really new its more so this season i look at the quality on the pitch and there is nothing to get me excited, not one player i want to turn up and watch.

So i shall be reviewing the new chairman and new ceoΒ  watch over the summer what they are going to do moving forward and if i like what i hear see some progress then i shall turn up and if its more of the same then think it might be time to watch from afar sadly.

Feel the same. I been going 45 years too and similar age. I'm fed up if the constant rebuilding and as soon as we get half decent player, we loose him. I know we are a selling club but the fans must have something to inspire us and keep going. It's getting boring and predictable. I remember we used to have at least one player worth going to see. Not too excited about which space in bottom 6 we will get to. Will see what CEO has to say also.Β

It's horrible on here just now. I've been singled out by a few posters on here over the last few weeks and each time they've got really personal. I don't care whether people agree with me or dont agree with me but i dont do that to anyone. That's twice in the last two weeks I've been told to get off this forum. Whatever. I'd never do that to anyone.Β

Oh dear, These forums have gotten pretty sour tonight. I mean obviously its a stinker being put out the cup by a championship team and yes Liam Kelly did have a howler but we would have most likely drawn Celtic or Rangers in the next round anyway. Lets not start squabbling and throwing our toys out the pram. Our game om Tuesday clearly clearly took its toll on some of our players fitness this evening and Morton were a well fought, Dirty team flying high.Β

Well said. Predictable negative comments. And yes ugly sisters still in cup. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘ We moved on.

Power is 36. The only thing he did was make sure the game didn't flow. If that's the kind of midfielder we sign, I'm done.. To say Morton had a better midfield would be to suggest they used it. They bypassed it every time.

The fact that simply launching it to the big man caused us so many problems, now that's the concern...

True he did a job on us well.Β

Grant Russell was saying a short time ago that if the 2 million fee was accurate we should be getting 75 to 80k.

Essentially he was discussing theΒ FIFA Solidarity Mechanism, to quote him "Each time a player moves cross border for a fee, 5% of it is distributed to the clubs where they spent the ages of 12 to 23. This applies for all future transfers cross border. If a player trained by Club A is now moving from Club C to Club D, Club A will get their slice. The amount is percentage based, calculated depending on the training years. Signing clubs have 30 days to pay up."

While it might not be a massive fee I suppose it's nice not to be left empty handed.Β

That means we could have got van veen for 75k. Why did we not push for that?

I do get what you're saying.

I know you need a range if opinions but some of the stuff on here??Β

One poster is calling our players c*nts and the manager a tit...I know it's not the Sunday School but would you like someone talking to your family like that?

    Maybe don't answer that

We are meant to be on the same side

Well said. Has to be respect to people as even if we don't rate them. They are human. That language is harsh and shouldn't be in a forum. Also someone posted really slanderous post about one of our ex players here recently. It's toxic at times. Moderators need to be looking at some of them.

Harking back to my post about data analytics in November, I honestly still believe that a club our size has to box clever, otherwise we will come undone at some point. And that point could very well be now.

We cannot continue the process of throwing shite against the wall every summer and winter and hoping some of it sticks. That's not sustainable.Β

I said in November that I didn't know if the club were already using data analytics to its advantage, but quite honestly, I've seen very little evidence of this being the case. We could be way better in this area. And we don't need to spend a fortune to get there.

As I said back then, if we put the initial framework in place ahead of a summer window, we'd save a lot on the money we seem to spend during the January window.

Brighton meticulous about analysis and success speaks for its self. Much more focussed and less of a lottery. Can have world wide data on most players but specific data too.Β
