  1. After Patterson’s performance last night, SOD should cancel any summer holidays and prepare for a recall. The ex-R##### made more errors in each half of the game than SOD made in total in all his appearances. But haven’t heard mention of it anywhere.

  2. Ally MacLeod?
We were supposedly the big fish in the league and MacLeod had money to spend. He did sign some good players for that level but failed to get the setup right and promotion. He boasted when he took over that we would be challenging for first division title within 2 seasons. It took Davie Hay to mould the players into a winning, entertaining team.. (And Jock Wallace to reverse it.)

My biggest gripe against MacLeod was that he played Willie Pettigrew out of position and May have been part of the reason that Willie left for Dundee United. (NOTE Only my opinion) Think MacLeod’s personality required himself to be the ‘big noise’ (and nose) at a club.

Stevens first game as grade 1 ref in SPFL was in May2019 ( 2013 till then  worked up through lower leagues)at SJFC when chopped off a perfectly good goal and denied us a stonewall penalty…….since then he has BUMBLED refereeing around SPFL championship div 1 etc……he has NEVER  officiated in a game involving the ugly sisters  ( perfectly good reason ) as he is diabolical………. Yet week in week out non Old firm teams are allocated these clowns until they are deemed good enough…is it different rules they play with ???????

Think we all know the answer.

First 45 minutes should be used as an instructional aid for wannabee refs on how NOT to referee a match. Contained so many bad calls - too many to list. Possibly the worst I have seen - and that’s saying something.

Thought the captain was allowed to ask respectfully an explanation for a decision?

Can't really blame Arsenal. Biereth came here, got injured and then returned to a team on a 74 game run without a win. If they're looking for him to develop, not surprised they bundled him into the back of a van on Airbles Road...

Must be a world record! 74 games without a win and still not relegated. 😎

  5. Strange game - not for first time this season. Watched a stream.

Up to 35 minutes would have bitten your hand off for a point. Yet by half time could have been in the lead.

As second half went on thought we were running out of steam and Hibs progressively looked like scoring. But it was disappointing to lose a highly avoidable goal so late. (As pointed out boot’s been on other foot.) Actually feared we might lose another.

Boring stats - we have won more points from a losing position than anyone else (maybe because we’ve been in that position more than anyone?) Fourth highest scorers and ……yes , worst defensive record. Maybe not always down to our defence. How many managers/coaches say ‘defending starts from the front.

Gent was shattered. It seemed like the full second half was down his side. The weakness of our squad cost us. Obika was hopeless at the corner as well. Luca Ross scored against County and hasn't played a minute since yet chancers like Obika, Wilkinson and Shaw get chance after chance.

If Kettlewell doesn't bring in quality that improves the team this window his time's up.

Ross County game was at a completely different stage. We were chasing an equaliser and on top. i.e. nothing to lose when Luca came on.

It's got to be Liam Kellly ............said no-one in any game this season.

Sorry Liam, you're devoid of confidence and could well benefit from being dropped.

Mika must be MoM, without him there would have been nil points.

    Celtic at Parkhead?

Agree. But a gentleman off the park. He loved to talk about his great time at FP.
His build did help. Occasional lapses. Remember him unfortunately losing early goal against Dundee Utd in second last game of season after we had ensured qualification for Europe.
Lost 2-1 - ended our slim chance of winning league. Think whole team had been celebrating their achievement. (Utd win ensured their safety.)

Sieb Dijkstra was best iv seen for crosses ,and a mad big bugger . If he didn’t get the ball he layed someone out flat in the process . Oppisite of Kelly he often came out for them to the 18yard line. Entertaining stuff.

Haven’t posted on here in a long time and didn’t buy a season ticket this year  and have only been to one game this season. The main reason for this is in my opinion our board of directors allowed our prize asset to leave for an absolute pittance and A blind man could see we would be in a sorry state if we didn’t replace him. I get he wanted to go but why was he allowed to leave for the first offer in the summer at less than half his market value - who sanctioned this and thought it was acceptable . As a support we seemed to just  accept it and go down the usual happy clappy , great wee club , welcome to the rollercoaster mentality that is part of the reason we are where we are again this year come November.

That sale was the start of an odds on downward spiral . Not getting the market value for a 29 goal striker has led to our manager having a shoe string budget and signing a load of dross and getting them playing alongside the a lot of dross from last season. Yes he’s signed shite but that’s the general financial market he had to deal in due to the lack of funds on offer and the shite bag approach from our Board on the KVV sale was the catalyst for now having a squad bursting with dross footballers.

Kettlewell also lost Johnson , Furlong , Goss from last season alongside KVV and butcher has only just returned - they were arguably his best 5 players during last seasons  miracle survival under him so In some ways he has had the rug pulled well and truly from under him by the board.

That said one point out of 24 would nearly get any manager sacked at most levels and he has signed a lot of sub standard players , played a formation in my eyes to allow his two golden boys in spittal and Paton to feature most weeks and the small highlights I’ve seen we appear devoid of ideas belief and any attacking threat.

I don’t believe any manager can change this habit with the squad of players we have and the first change needs to come at board level with some cash for a couple of better players but January might be too late . If we don’t have cash then I revert back to the start of this rant - why the fuck did we sell KVV for such a small fee.

Would a Moult or a Fletcher have made a difference - of course they would but if you believe some from within the club they both wanted to come but we didn’t want to take the risk or lay out the cash - just look where that has left us.

Our  bowling club mentality board need to stand up and be counted but I don’t think they’ve got it in them- the silence from them is continuously deafening .

    Surely 2 out of 24?

  11. Tried to get tickets online. No option shown for away fans. Only offered sections M, N , P in East stand. Think that's for home support. Tried phoning Livingston. Rang out. Anyone been able to get tickets?

Can buy at stadium - but no doubt there'll be lengthy queues if everyone's doing that.

Fair enough, different interview. I'm pretty sure they did look at it though, kept replaying it while the goal was being checked. They've obviously decided his head was on the field of play when it hit him. One of his feet certainly was.

You should take another look at it on Sportscene. None of his feet were on the field. His big toe of his front foot might just have been touching line. Considering most people’s head is positioned vertically midway between their legs there is no way the ball is in play when it hits off him. Hammell threw ball back to Penney and shouted to take it quickly to McKinstrey who was free up the wing. Celtic player moved to stop quick throw in. Should have been booking and retake. Booking would have been worth it for Celtic player since McKinstrey was in good attacking position. Fourth official and stand side linesman and Collum should have seen it and VAR. Nothing changes.

  13. Have still to watch any replays of sending off. My first reaction was that Kelly would have got to ball well before Porteous. So it wasn’t a goal scoring opportunity. But no excuse for Shields committing foul since Porteous still had to score past Kelly- no stick on there - and there was still 40 minutes to play.

On balance I didn't think it was a penalty but none of the camera angles were particularly good and I wouldn't rule out the ref being right.  The best camera angle would have been near the corner flag.

And that’s where the linesman was positioned and he gave it - not the referee.
