  1. Our backline was more settled last year with a fit Butcher , McGinn, Casey + 2 decent wingbacks. The last few months has had so many chop/changes. Casey/Butcher/Casey struggling with fitness + form and having to move S'OD and Mugabi around a few positions. I still think we're struggling with the central defenders. If all fit and on top of their game I don't think all who started last night/recent weeks would get a game. Also agree that confidence/habit creeps in. As a team we're on tenterhooks for every cross ball. Need a few clean sheets to build confidence.
  2. He reminds me of Kirk - reads the game , has a great eye for goal, too slow to be a striker but a dangerous player who links play well . we should put him on as a sub for all cup games
  3. Tell us next time you get that feeling GazzyB - will be sure to tune in .
  4. Nothing against the player and hope he recovers - it’s more about the balance we now have
  5. Hoping we can bring on Nicholson and anyone else on the fringe
  6. We’re a far better midfield and team without Slattery . Much better balance about the midfield. overall excellent team performance in the first half . still feeling nervous - a 4th would help my nerves
  7. Best first 30 mins all season - by a distance
  8. Lovely goal Blair he’s been superb in this formation
  9. That type of feeling is typically kept for a Saturday
  10. Nicholson if used will be as a sub and impact player until he’s fully up to speed happy for him to come on for final 25-30 mins to get into the swing of things .
  11. Morton will fancy their chances, they're riding on a crest of a wave at the moment. Unbeaten since November & averaged 3 goals scored in their last 6 games. Be interesting to see if there's much of a gulf between us.
  12. Think we need to score first. Come out the blocks and get at them early. Be nice to see some of our new recruits getting game time - starting with Nicholson who looks to have some quality.
  13. Team generally all played well. A couple of players not yet mentioned SOD - Some very decent passes from SOD yesterday who deserves credit. Spittal - the current formation works for him and he's able to put some quality passes together. Played Bair in nicely for the goal.
  14. The media are happy to take a pop as long as it's not the beloved OF. Pretty sure Celtic fans didn't warmly welcome Mo Johnstone at Park Head after his quick shift to Rangers.
  15. Pretty annoyed /frustrated - we were the better team , they were there for the taking . waiting til 89 mins to put Nicholson on is frankly poor mgt . feels like another 2 points dropped when we could and should be winning we’re in the habit of settling for a draw, super frustrating
  16. I don’t understand why Nicholson hasn’t come on yet - a player who can unlock things is exactly what we need
  17. Another week another early goal conceded Frustrated again
  18. Im glad Livingston are where they're at. As much as I don't think we'll continue the bad run of not winning any games I'm not confident we won't avoid the play-offs. Not being a doom/gloom monster . Things aren't going our way , small squad, injuries, quality loanee's being returned. Off field could be better with the temp CEO and Chairman looking for exit door. We've got out of dodge a few times in the last 10 years and feels like lots conspiring against us. Really hope we pull 4-5 decent results together to give us cushion.
  19. We went into the window with too small a squad . we left the window with an even smaller squad . we needed to improve several key areas centre backs - not done fullbacks - time will tell midfield - done forwards - unlikely to have improved Appreciate it’s a hard window , esp for strikers but a loaner or 2 wouldn’t have been that hard . Equally shocking re centre backs - not a hard role to fill
  20. Good news kvv will be at FP at the weekend bad news he won’t be in our dressing room if we can’t match up to st mirren or killie in terms of salary when we’re running small squad I seriously worry about our way forward as a club
  21. Been an interesting window so far . we started with a small squad , we’ve offloaded more than we’ve brought in . some of the signings appear v decent . hopefully a few more in today
  22. I don't know what expectations some of our fans have. We've signed a promising youngster who's making his way in the game and some think we're doomed before we've even seen him. He might be a decent footballer who offers the team more than just his scoring stats. Equally he's young and may well be what we need. I don't remember Scott McDonald having amazing stats before we signed him. It's a tough window, always is. We got shot of players not cutting it, we've brought in the type of prospect we wanted. Looks pretty reasonable bit of business all things considered
  23. The positive here is the fans would give him time and encouragement . be good to at least see what he has equally we need to bring in some quality - easier said than done
  24. Agree 100% Malpas was awful to watch but your right McLeish systemically ruined what took years to build Before doing the same at a host of other clubs
