  1. Are you suggesting trying to form some sort of a striking partnership between Bair and Vale? Such a radical notion will never catch on.
  2. Agree, Mugabi has been unfairly blamed, probably because he’s the guy closest to Shankland as he scores but he wasn’t marking him at the start and you could see by his reaction that he was pissed off at the time. SOD will (or should be) embarrassed at the second as he didn’t see the other hearts player and possibly when he did see him tried not to collide with him and give away a penalty but his fall looks comical- these things happen.
  3. Celtic are a weaker team just now, although they should still be good enough to get a win against us but we can only hope otherwise. Abada is a loss for them but that’s not all of their problem, they seem to be missing something and are not clicking as a team - let’s hope Brendon doesn’t fix it before next Sunday.
  4. Agree with you. Yesterday he got the ball inside the box on the byline and looked to be going nowhere but cut it back nicely into the penalty area, unfortunately no one was there.
  5. Apart from the goal - and I’m not defending him at that as I’ve still to see it properly - I thought he didn’t do too badly today. He cleared most of the crosses put into the box. Most, if not all the guy’s we can afford will have faults.
  6. I’m assuming Gent was injured when he came off as he walked straight down the tunnel with what looked like a bag of ice.
  7. Bit strong, I think inexperienced would be closer. Not the best shot but not the worst we will see this weekend. I think a more experienced guy would have taken a touch, got in front of the defender and drawn a penalty.
  8. I know, what I was trying to say was that I was catching up with posts that I hadn’t read and as I read through the posts I wrongly thought they were on the Aberdeen game thread but luckily I checked before posting - posted it for a bit of a laugh and a cautionary tale to read carefully and check before posting - reread my original post
  9. Here’s a good reason I always try to check things before posting. Just been catching up on here, read a couple of post above and thought they were talking about Wednesday’s game - luckily I thought it a bit strange after I’d written my reply so checked what thread I was reading before posting this Kmcalpin, SinOz and wellfan, are you all seriously saying that at 3-0 up after only 30 minutes any manager should be making subs? Madness! The subbed players would be raging and if the game had still ended 3-3 this forum quite rightly would have been in meltdown at Kettlewell’s decision to do so.
  10. Don’t disagree with you there but Casey and every other defender have been at fault for us losing poor goals this season - not just down the left. My point was more that with him behind Gent, Gent has been better, that has led to us getting goals - and that might get us some wins. We both have valid views for not playing/playing him there.
  11. I think that Gent has been better with McGinn on the left. I also think he gets up the park in support better than Casey. Regarding SOD, totally agree.
  12. I’m no expert but I’d think that he might say something along the lines of “not fit when arrived/getting to know Scottish football/getting to understand our system “ I keep harping on about players needing time to settle but I’m sure if I could be arsed to look back over the last 6 months, I’d be able to find there were a few on here questioning his ability and why he was signed.
  13. I’d disagree with that, if someone you want either as a project or is not fit but is available then it doesn’t matter when you sign him if you believe in him. Signing him now gives him 6 months to get fit/improve/settle in. Also if you wait until June/July he would probably no longer be available.
  14. Didn’t see the game but let me guess poor defending, Kelly pish, midfield getting nothing and their passing was awful, Bair finishing was pish. How many did I get right?
  15. Not quite getting that, banging in goals is all good but if we concede more than we score, we’re out the cup and confidence drops especially in defence.
  16. In the summer Shaw was a decent option given his knowledge of Scottish football but he didn’t make the impact I’d hoped for but I’m also a believer in giving a player 6 months at a new club and with SK’s success with Bair here’s hoping he can improve.
  17. Polish him up and sell him on, that’s the Motherwell way.
  18. Sat down there to watch the highlights I’d recorded only to find out the time had changed and I’d recorded a guy strolling around Skye, no problems I thought, will get it on iPlayer but it’s not there - anyone any idea when it should be there? I always thought it was after the programme had finished. edit: game now on iPlayer at 10:30
  19. Down side is playing like that he won’t be here next season but he won’t be at St Mirren either
  20. Would be happy with that - especially if we could miraculously finish fifth
  21. Might be they thought it was better to have him sitting on their bench rather than run the risk of him going to StMirren and them ending above Killie.
  22. Got to agree with wellsince75, going to be a hard game. They’ve score 17 and conceded 3 since the start of January and the conceded goals were against Dundee Utd and Partick Thistle. Given that we can’t seem to keep a clean sheet or score many, I do have a bit of concern. Hopefully I’m wrong but that’s based on hope and nothing else although I see the bookies have us as slight favourites.
  23. Same as a lot of folk on here are saying, don’t you think it’s right?
  24. There was me thinking it was his best joke
  25. Firstly I’d say this discussion should be moved to its own thread as it has merit (maybe the mods can sort that) but heres my tuppence worth. I might be wrong but as the average gate attendance’s includes the away fans, is it not possible that their crowds are larger because they allow the arse cheeks more than one stand? Also, what is the comparison between how many we take to their grounds to what they bring to Fir Park?
