  1. Fantastic for us! We've drawn St. Patrick Athletics from Ireland! We're already in the groups !!!
  2. Groups have been drawn and Steaua's possible oppoments are : Genoa CFC (ITA) SK Rapid Wien (AUT) CD Nacional (POR) Saint Patrick's Athletic FC (IRL) NK Maribor (SVN) Genoa looks like a tough 50%-50% game if we draw it, the rest are easy.
  3. Bogdan Stancu to the Romanian press (got the penalty, scored 2nd and 3rd) : "We entered this game believing we're already in the next round and we got what we deserved. At half time we had a meeting between us and the manager was present also with good advice for the second half and we finally woke up after the break. I don't think I've scored a more beautiful goal than the one tonight but I'm a striker and it doesn't matter if I score from 2 or 20 yards. We need to keep on winning to show everyone that we don't win by chance."
  4. Hey, as long as we're not East Stirlingshire, works for me! But really, don't bet too much. On a more serious note, we do play well away from home when the players feel they have something to play for. Their stupid big "Barcelona from Bucharest" ego left them for embarasment in the first half but they would've gone through even if you would've had 3-0 at half time. It would've been a hectic rush for some away goals and we do have the quality for those as demonstrated in the 2nd half.
  5. Thanks for supporting us! To return the favor, you've got yourselves a new fan for your SPL campaign !
  6. By the way guys, just scrolled to the UEFA site and saw the possible opponents of Steaua in the next round (unseeded teams) and Hearts is in there! Would be great as their manager while not being ethnic Romanian is a Romanian citizen born in Romania!
  7. Actually what I meant was that if he bets against us in the next round he'll lose again, sorry for my bad English .
  8. Just because I think you're not a bad guy, just "heated-up" by the closeness in time to the game and probably because you're also some sort of an "ultras" fan I'll give you a good piece of advice : don't put any money on us on the next round, don't want to see you lose again !
  9. I'm sorry to say it my friend but you give "sore loser" and "bias" a good name!

    European Referees

Guys, don't want to stirr up things but if you talk to non-british fans you'd be seeing quite the opposite opinions when it comes to tackles and those "shoulder challenges".
  11. I'd say a fair statement, I still remember when we played Liverpool back in 2003, 1-1 home and lost 1-0 away (UEFA Cup) but in the game at Anfield the referee refused us a blatant penalty. But it was Liverpool, we seemed too small to bother the overwhelming odds even when we actually deserved it. I'm not saying we would've won, Liverpool could've beaten us 2-1, 3-1, 3-2 etc and still go through but being denied a penalty and a true chance to a deserved upset really felt like shite. I understand your frustration but I also have to caution you ... continental referees are very different from british ones.
  12. Good game Motherwell! Our team really needs a reality check, they are definantly not Barcelona as the shirts may suggest to the casual viewer not to be serious when playing, even if it's a weaker team on the other side of the pitch. They didn't deserve to win tonight but they pulled it off through loads of international experience and a very strict referee when it came to the decisions in our box. He really didn't give the hosts the usual 5%. For us, Steaua fans, the good that we can draw from this game is that our team managed to shake off the embarasment of the first half and we hope that the old saying in football that "a good team wins even when they have an off day" applies to Steaua too. Wish your team and yourselves all the best and hope to see you in Europe again next year! Up the Well !
  13. Hello to all Motherwell fans, Steaua fan coming in peace. Just wanted to let you know that judging from the latest reports from the club leaked out to the Romanian press we're going to field our reserve team, youngsters plus the new signings that didn't have too much chances to play so far. This combined with the fact that your players will be in front of their own fans should make for a little more of a balanced game than the one in Bucharest last week. May the best team win (hopefully that will still be Steaua though )!
