    So It Begins...

I thought it had been agreed that the pitch or any of the layers under it are not LEVEL! Updates have been good, expect they'll need to be a bit more spaced out now that a lot of the heavy works are nearing completion. And plenty of hard graft getting put in by the groundstaff and contractors by the looks of it, well done!

  3. I took it to mean he thought Hearts were guaranteed third spot this season, if he had went to them ( even if he was handicapped). Wonder if he's a member of the site that post in the Gambling section with his system

What were you doing in the shop after it closed? Basic but smart will be good but did the previews not have all sort of detail? claret blobs?, collar lining with steelmen text?, hoop?, centred badges? Surely means its no a basic 'tandem' number?

They'll be a lot of dissapointed youngsters that see the video after reading the thread title Reckon I'm just a youngster maself in that video just in frame on the left hand side, anybody got a good quality version? Remember it clearly, unlike the game

If you're on the list and didn't receive it contact me (PM) with updated contact details. I'll get this seasons out the way and make sure the club deliver value for money before commiting to hosting another seasons sponsorship.
  7. Not seen prices for the 09/10 season but last years prices were: Top Framed Unframed Home £395 £295 Away £375 £275 European £600 £500 Training £295 £195
  8. No Problem Finlay I was waiting on the club sending out the information as indicated on the other player sponsorship thread and then I intended posting the info up. John Suttons top cost £295 to sponsor so when the money was actually paid we just made that total, if all the money pledged was paid in we would have also had a donation to the YD or a further top sponsored. As a reminder £280 was raised in £5 increments, each £5 paid entitling the sponsor to one chance in the draw at the end of the season to actually receive the sponsors benefits i.e the top etc. The list of paid sponsors I have is as follows Modernist 4 entries to the draw Kmcalpin 5 entries Rev I M Jolly 1 entry Al B 1 entry Finlaythewell 2 entries rinkydink 4 entries DelBoy 4 entries JoeWarkLegend 2 entries Numpty 8 entries WeeYin 4 entries Mad_Well_Dobe_Owner 2 entries Well_Fan_In_Aberdeen 4 entries Andy_P 1 entry Trafficlight 2entries Karatekidz 2 entries BallsoMFC 2 entries Stuart_B 4 entries Johnnydefault 2 entries VJW 2 entries I backed up the original thread from the old site and have contact details for all the above at home, so will send a mail next time I'm on that PC. If anyone feels I've not listed something correctly let me know.
  9. no lucky winner been drawn yet As in return for the sponsorship as well as the sponsored players top the sponsors/winner was to attend a Gala dinner and receive the strip from John Sutton himself. But there seems to have been some hitches around this event and as far as I'm aware no one has received the promised information regarding it as yet. I had hoped to book a table/s at the event for any of the steelmenonline sponsors/friends to attend as a group but feel this might not happen now. I'll be contacting all the folk that contributed to the shirt sponsorship and ask if we should just request the shirt asap. (now that JS isn't wearing it to play in!) Its been a dissapointing run in to the end of the season for me due to this as I had been all set to use the end of season POTY event to generate interest for the site to continue sponsoring players and had hoped to get the funds to sponsor two again, but with last years huge increase in costs and the...............mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    Dougie Returns!

Some good moves being made by the club management, There are a few Club legends that should always have a place at Fir Park, it very pleasing to hear another one returning. Take it its meant to be a bit tongue in cheek saying he'll be pulling the pints if anyone books the function suites mind you
  13. They'll never forgive him
  14. Is he a scrawny looking blonde hairded fella? Cancel that just seen the profile link to the SFA

  16. Fine times, watching men become legends, Still to this day glow with pride whenever recalling the cup run, Never made the Aberdeen game had been up there many times in the previous few years and for some reason the trip just didn't happen but can remember hearing Kirkie was coming off the bench and when the goal came through on the radio it was sheer joy. Never missed a first round tie since Even then a cup tie against lower league opposition put fear into many 'Well fans so no real expectation for a good cup run from me when we played Falkirk, a good game however most memorable for a Joe McLeod goal! and off course Kirkie netting after coming of the bench. the next games against Morton were the hardest for me, 0-0 was a chore but the replay immediately after had all the classic cup tie moments, take the lead, get pinned back (Johnny Gaghan ), nearly won it, nearly lost it, then penalities!! right in front of us!! and the Classic Colin Psycho O'Neill necksnapping forward role celebration sent us wild, Dare we believe?? the Glasgow Sellik in the next round, at Hampden, was the semi-final draw fixed?? not a classic football match this one but we could've won it , after a poor 1st half then some last ditch defending we pushed them back and should have got a penalty but as usual it wasn't given, Ian Ferguson then rattled the post, I thought it was going in! my heart sank and thought maybes that was our last chance, another replay ensued. Did celtic ever lose a semi final replay? they pounded us in the first half on what was a horrible wet evening and Arnott goal kept us in it at 2-1 HT but the second half was where we seen the boys become men and the men become legends, quite simply the best 45minutes I've witnessed, Arnott equalised then came the goal of the tournament/season/lifetime the Psycho, 35yds out, decided he was hitting it, It was like slow motion a joy to see, 3-2, then Kirkie sealed the deal with a cross into the top stanchion, Was It In? I wasn't sure, Look to the Ref? YES, YES it WAS!!!!!!!!!!! never have I ever been in a crowd that went so mental(Caldwell against France was close, for those that were part of that) was the tie fixed?GIRFUY Every 'Well fan knows the final, and I went into it with belief that never before/or since have I held as a 'Well fan, it was to be a rollercoaster in itself but the Coop' was back and I just didn't believe we could lose, BIG MISTAKE! Goals from Ferguson, O'Donnell and Angus were not enough to seal it in the 90minutes the break at full time seemed to rally the team and the fans, and Kirkie sealed his Legendary staus with the last of his goals in every round, Grown men had been on their knees at full time, but now there were tears of joy, it had happened WE had won the cup The team will live on forever in my memory: Maxwell Nijholt, Paterson, McCart, Boyd Griffin, Angus, O'Donnell, Cooper,Ferguson, Arnott, Subs: Kirk, O'Neil Very special mention to John 'Softie' Philliben who didn't make the final squad which was far too limited in those days and a mention for Nicky Cusack and Joe 'could've bought a barratt house instead' McLeod
  17. I don't know what to think... but the lack of mail that gets through to my address from the club I can never be sure if it's been sent or I've just been missed out. Can't be easy to arrange an event at such short notice, but it was just a general question to see if the details have been issued to the sponsors. Still feel......
  18. Has anyone received anything about this?
  19. He played Magic! only one mistake I recall when he let a stray ball loose on the half way line for them to break but even then he got back to make the clearance on the line wouldn't think anyone non-M'well would have been able to identify it as his first full 90mins. Sound sound prospect, didn't miss Reynolds in the slightest
  20. the Morrisons next to the ground? thats Madness if its anything like the last time, total gridlock around the road in and out before and after the match and there wasn't the temporary lights. EDIT: whit traffic lights?
  21. Is this the Accies v Motherwell game thread then? Not long been informed this one is pay at the gate £22! / £11 Painful as that is, I'll probably be at it. Team news? Reynolds suspended (almost two years since he missed out is it?) Craggs doubtful? Fitzy Doubtful? Hopefully see those that are going to be here next year over those that are not.......
  22. Congratulations, A nice piece of recognition and highlights some people at the club that want to change things for the good, pleased for all involved Small steps all add up to improving the club.
  23. How is it not true? it is true, bigg even goes on to say no renewal letter received, I'll add that I haven't received any renewal letters either or any of the previous mailings meant for season ticket holders. I'm happy the club are taking steps (again) to try and correct the database and the professionalism and the success rate for contacting fans, but get a little pissed off when other fans seem to think just because they got a mailing from the club that the system must be perfect and everyone that voices an opinion that it is not must be wrong. As for the topic of the thread, Probably will not renew the season tickets, because it just doesn't make financial sense and every time I have done it to support the club I get a kick in the teeth in return.
  24. Back to the counselling for me then, thought I had got over it til you said the name, deal of the century that was Oh Aye Mcleish, he's just a lucky Mo Malpas Edit : In Eddie Mays defence he might have been all right in the correct position
