  2. In similar vein, I recollect "Michael Mols has got a monkey for a wife" being heartily sung against Rangers.
  3. I can't remember what if anything we sang that day but Airdrie fans actually sang that themselves when he played for them.
  4. Don't forget that hidden away amongst all the shite at their new place was a 3-1 win there at the end of last season. Should have been even more emphatic had Jim O'Brien not screwed a shot wide after a move which had them chasing shadows. It meant nothing to us whilst it looked like they were being dragged into the relegation battle - which actually made it all the more enjoyable for me in my own petty little way.

Thoughts and votes please on another fantastic win.....
  6. I think the fact the official lists a kick-off time suggests that they are comfortable with folk coming along and watching.
  7. You've repeated that point a couple of times now but if Levein or whoever is doing their job properly I can't see you how can simply look at a player in the isolation you appear to think they should be. Comparison with past players has to be relevant. Replace Reynolds for Kenneth for example in examining Levein's first squad. I don't believe for a minute that Levein would have thought right Gary ya big lanky streak of piss you're gonna be in my squad without having considered what he believes to the ability of, past performances of, future potential of, the versatility of and quite importantly when it comes to Scotland the actual availability of; against the likes of Berra, Steven Caldwell, Darren Barr to name but three other central defenders. Debate about who should be in and who should be in, its part and parcel of being a punter but I'd say a manager and his coaching team wouldn't be doing their job properly if they weren't thoroughly analysing and comparing potential players against past and present performers and keeping an eye what future talent could emerge.
  8. I can't argue with the view that he's an Everton player and they'll have a major say in who if anybody he goes to next season. But unless Mowbray has plans to bump Boruc and/or Zaluska would he really entertain jumping as a squad player at Everton to be a squad player at Celtic? And that's without taking his family into account. Given that part of the reason he's been so happy at Fir Park is the fact its been the first season in years where he's actually played a full season, I really can't see him ending up at Parkhead.
  9. Its a fair question. Had it been a deliberate ploy to manage the queue, say to keep folk off the road then you could possibly justify the barriers. Even though I was in sharp all it seemed to do was a create a uneccesary bottle neck at the turnstiles. Another case of doing something to justify the presence or was it genuinely just to prevent stuff being taken into the ground?
  10. I thought it was McGhee's right hand man that wasn't overly keen on the Kaiser rather McGhee himself? Could be wrong but. Thought that both the start of and the end of his 'Well career were a bit iffy as he took a wee bit of time to settle in and when the injuries got him towards the end, but in between I'll remember him as a fine servant. Though he was a bit more experienced than many of the youngsters who came to prominence during the administration period, I think it was the making of Corrigan too. I think he thrived in the faith that Butcher had in him and he came on tonnes with the added responsibility of being one of the more experienced players, albeit not that old age wise. Just a shame it ended in the rather sour, hushed out the door fashion it did.

    John Ruddy

Safe to close this now? We think its safe to say Ruddy aint going to go to Ibrox. He probably aint going to Celtic either. And the fair bit of off-topicness seems to have ran its course too. Time to move on?

  13. Brown has something of a selection dilemma this weekend assuming Jutkiewicz is fit albeit in a good way. Murphy or Sutton would have every right to feel hard done by if either one of them gets dropped to the bench for Lukas, who by the same token would every right to feel that with his record and performances of late he should be restored to the starting eleven straight when fit. Significant that when Lukas went off against St Mirren and Jamie scored he started the next one against Falkirk and Lukas was on the bench to start? Suppose we'll find out on Saturday. That poser apart I don't imagine there will be too many changes from Saturday. Always concerns me when fellow Dossers appear to be getting a bit over-confident. Think we can beat Killie but it isn't going to be the stroll that some think. Their recent results have improved quite a bit and I expect they'll be after a bit of revenge after recent (squirrel)humpings by us. Narrow win for the Steelmen.
  14. If you scroll down the page on their website there's a "click here" link where the player opens up a new tab and it'll then load up. I've got Real player installed which allows you download the clip to your pc where you can do what you want with it from there.
  15. I think its a question that would be mabye worth asking again if the SPL changed their rules and allowed artificial surfaces to be used again, but given the choice I would go for grass. Can you imagine the squealing from Hamilton and Dunfermline if they did change the rules anytime soon?
  16. On the subject of Coke at left-mid I think he's in there because at the moment he fits the bill more than any other candidate we have for that position. Come the summer I would expect Brown and Knox to look for someone else for that position. I think he's better in the middle but arguably like Hateley too the Lasley-Jennings partnership has been so successful (surprisingly?) that both have a tall order of getting back in there. For me he fits in with the Brown and Knox ethos of being defensively solid, difficult to break down and hard to beat. If he can contribute going forward then great but I don't think the management will be overly fussed if he continues to do as he done there in recent times until they get someone else for that position. McGlinchey, Forbes, Murphy and O'Brien when used on the left all offer much more in attack and have a role to play in specific situations and against specific opponents but in the main I think they would rather have a solid and dependable Coke in there to start a match rather than a more risky attacking players.

  18. Good shout Albi. Had to download using Real Player then upload the file to Itunes and across to the player. Would be ideal if you could just subscribe to it.

    Craig Brown

Bully fan in the work says Craig Brown and former reserve defender Chris Higgins are on the radio on Friday night if anyone's interested. Think its a Cumbernauld station that has features on Clyde on Friday evening.
  20. Nice one, I'll check it out. Never ever bothered with podcasts before but currently radio-less going and coming from work at the moment so have downloaded a couple of Scottish football ones for something different (Sportsound ones and The Terrace). A 'Well one would be good.
  21. Yeah, you would be right steelman1991. I don't think he was ever charged but yeah I was referring to MacAskill being arrested at Wembley in 1999 for allegedly being drunk and disorderly. Very much a case of "Do as I say, not as I do" when it comes to this issue I believe.
  22. I'm for it for reasons of choice mainly, though really don't think it'll ever be re-introduced. Its ironic that the guy who perhaps holds the key to its re-introduction was arrested at the last England v Scotland game allegedly for being drunk and disorderly. For me its another of these inequalities, persecutions, discriminations whatever the correct term may be that football fans have to put up with in this country. A bit like the fact that folk can get chucked out of the National Stadium for standing up at a Scotland game one Saturday when they are happy for 20,000 to cram on the pitch (in the dark) to watch a concert the next. It annoys me the way someone can toddle down to Firhill on a Friday evening and enjoy a wee refreshment whilst watching Glasgow Warriors but to attempt the same watching Thistle would end up with an evening in the cells (no tired joke required here ). The reality I think would be that rather than sipping a beer looking forward to a scintillating 90 minutes in the sun at Fir Park, it would be more a case of scooting past the bar at 2:59pm to get to my seat to ensure a minimum time is spent in the snow/rain/gales. But it would still be nice to have the choice.
  23. This reads to me that the guy's group has started to make gradual progress in achieving their aims, not referees. Now I don't know what progress that is but as someone who dips in out of other teams forums occasions they've certainly established a presence and certainly on here have made some useful and informative posts. Seems like you're aiming your fire at the wrong target here Special.
  24. I find it quite amusing the way the offended party has taken the time to write to Motherwell to complain about abuse being handed out.....then immediately rushes to the net to call someone a fat, baldy, fucktard!

    Callum Reid

The Bully fan in my work offered a similar opinion. In adddition he reckoned his height was a drawback preventing him from coming for crosses and he questioned his decision-making giving a couple of example of rash choices such as an OG against Livi and rushing out and handling outside the box in a recent fixture when a cool head could have seen him comfortably collect in the box. He seemed to think that Clyde have had several "not-bad" keepers in recent seasons with Halliwell probably the pick of them, but he rates Reidford well below his standard.
