  1. Whatever happens on Saturday I just hope Frear isnt on dead balls. Every one of them either goes straight to the Keeper, 150 feet in the air or over the head of every player in sight. Ainsworth got fed up with him on Saturday and put one right on to Heneghan's head. We know what happened next!
  2. The Canadian Goal Keeper is an interesting thing, two work colleagues, one supports Dundee Utd and the other St Mirren, both mentioned they have trialists from across the pond who play College Football. I reckon there's an agent touting these kids with his fingers crossed !
  3. Perhaps the man to ask why we lack left sided players in the squad is the same man who couldn't do much without them last night, he's responsible for bringing players in !!!!!
  4. I've read all of the above on last nights game with interest and have to say that relevant points are made all the way through. To generalise all of it I'd say the position we are in at the moment is we have a squad that would give it a go at SPL level but we don't have the coaches who know how to use it. We knock the ball around the back four for so long that before the inevitable long punt comes along everyone up the park is covered. Remember the days of Faddy and Clarkson when we penetrated midfields and defences on the deck, I'm convinced we could still do that, especially with some of the youngsters we have with pace. Moult should be put in the Box and told to stay there with MacDonald making a nuisance of himself in and around it. Both of those guys must be sick of the lack of balss to feet they get, a few times last night MacDonald was even five yards outside OUR box asking for the ball, why does that have to happen ? He might not be setting the world on fire down south but, I know from a fan that he jumped into a nightmare, since Robinson went we have had no obvious shape to the side. I think that if this continues our Gaffer may find himself under growing pressure, fans are already voting with their feet !
  5. Another chance slips through our fingers - JIM GOODWIN signs for Alloa ----- JOKING!!!!!!
  6. Why all the negativity about Samson, he's a decent Goalkeeper. Obviously if Mark McGhee finds someone with a better pedigree we can afford to bring in then that's good, a bit of a fight for the gloves. I agree we've had Ruddy and Randolph but we've also had Twardzick. Long and, until he came good half way through, Ripley. If Samson starts I won't mind. Too many people look at players they've seen half a dozen times in their careers and make a judgement, you don't make Scotland squads by being inconsistant !
  7. What is the position re the Europa League ? I was told on Saturday that if Celtic win the double then it's the Cup Runner Up and not the team who finish 4th that get into the Qualifiers !
  8. Surprised , unless I've missed it, nobody has mentioned Jim Hamilton,---- Goal of the Decade wasn't it! For the Record, in my opinion John Sutton was great for us, not the most mobile but knew where the net was!

    Mark McGhee

How many Managers at various clubs have praised players attitudes over the years saying, "he even comes in and trains on his days off" Attitude test number 1 maybe? It wouldn't surprise me if some of the players were in using the gym and other facilities.
  10. "Well 4 Europe" I don't think you fully understood my post re Simo. What I meant was the Board may look at the playing field the last Manager came from and liken that to the Standard Simo finds himself in now. Would they want to risk a similar type appointment since the last went tits up! I have no doubt Simo is a great young coach and would love him back at the club, I just dont think the Board will take the risk. I think they'll go for experience and SPFL experience at that, hence "McGhee"
  11. After the last way they went about choosing a manager I doubt Simo will get the job. Is the Finnish League any stronger than the Irish one ? Why not pick someone from the Junior Super Leagues if that's the level we are pitching at. Look at the records of Auchinleck, Linlithgow and Bo'ness Utd coaching staff !!!!! McGhee for me.

    Joe Wark

My favourite Joe Wark moment, the Cup Tie v Aberdeen which we lost 1-0 due to a John Hewitt goal after 15 Seconds ! In the same game Joe took a cross from the right on his chest about a yard out from the back post and played it right into Hugh Sproat's ( I think ? ) hands ! Fantastic piece of skill. RIP Joe a REAL LEGEND.
  13. What about that Latvian guy rumoured the other week, Pulyarp Loncor. Three week loan, not even long enough to be underwhelmed but understandable for some no doubt!
  14. Maybe cover for Pearson yes but, if no extension ??? surely highlights my original point.
  15. Motherwell Legend, if you have to quote my tweet on the Grimshaw loan please do it accurately as other readers may grasp my meaning properly. I'm happy to have the boy at the club, I just don't happen to agree with loans of this length, except in emergencies , goalkeeper perhaps. We have an under 20's squad full of developing players battling to impress. What if Grimshaw gets injured, how many games could he actually play. If the loan is not extended who benefits ? Grant came in on a seasons loan last year, he was hailed a sensation due to a backhealed goal on YouTube ! Did he do a job ? Was he given the chance to do a job ?
