Big news as Aberdeen have rejected the offer to play in the conference league and will be voting against it. Makes less money in the league will be interesting if Hearts and Hibs also reject it. Not sure it’s as cut and dried as I previously thought.

Thanks for the replies. I have read somewhere that all member clubs will get a vote which will include lower league sides but might not be true. I have emailed the link from the well society email so hopefully atleast get an answer. I honestly don’t understand why lower league teams would want it. Brechin seems reinvigorate by dropping down the leagues. The highland league is an amazing league I know less about the lowland but if Elgin got relegated fans would still turn up.

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else that I couldn’t see. Not sure how many are aware of the spfl plans for a new conference league. The main point is they are starting a new league between league 2 and lowland/highland league that will have six b teams in it. These will not be allowed to be promoted or relegated making this league deadly dull and probably just a Trojan horse for b teams come up the league. This also essentially relegates 100s of teams below them. From a Motherwell perspective I don’t see any benefits as we aren’t even entering a B team. So either this fails to develop players and makes lower league football worse or it does help develop players thus making our competition stronger. However since the old firm will require larger squads will probably reduce the talent pool we have to pick from. I have emailed the club as I believe there is a vote coming up and was concerned well society members haven’t had a say on this. Morton for example are allowing members to decide their vote. The response I received was disappointing saying they had not had detailed proposals yet from the spfl so had not formed a view. Sounds like we won’t be getting a view. Thanks for reading a long thread and you may not be as interested or excised as me however if you are might be worth emailing the club to show a strength of feeling.

Still strange set up for the team two strikers and a winger playing as 3 up top doesn’t look great and watt just goes missing wide. Best chance came when he got the ball in the middle of the park. Need a winger on for either Crawford (go 442) or Watt or Cole (go proper 433).

Glad to see us looking at a striker hopefully can come in and get some goals looks like he might be a bit of a target man which we need. We need to try and get a winger now so we can start seedorf hastie and then swap them if it’s not working. Hopefully means a little less of Watt

For me there is a huge difference between Celtic Park and Mosset park here in moray. Fir park and most grounds we play at prob fall into the grey area. With infection where they are in the highlands no reason not to have fans in highland and lower league grounds could limit them like down in England to stop large numbers going. You could also have some fans at lowland league grounds in certain areas (would need to know more about local situation in all localities than I do). we have treated everywhere with the same broad brush and the talk of fans especially in the old firm or no where seems very strange. All the highland league games I have been to was social distancing before I knew it was a thing add in face masks and some protection for the elderly like early entry and late exit would be completely doable IMO.

Thought it was more individual errors for the goals. Gillespie for the second the three defenders who couldn’t block Forrest shot and Dunne for the 4th. We play like that against most of the rest of the league and we win 5-2 not a fair reflection. Need a a bit more from Long up top mind.

Richard tait thought would be a bad buy looked awful against Annan now one of the most consistent players. Khaled Kemas (Was younger) thought he looked a good skilful player!

The two problems for them on Saturday IMO was that due to the narrow midfield (which worked a treat) either one was dropping wide to build attacks. Then trying to cross and only the other was in the box making it more difficult. Prob need to work on getting runners from midfield! also main confidence seems so low and he seems a total confidence plater. Never gave up or stopped running but nothing came off for him all game!

Frear not my favourite player but not got any other choices currently. Would look to get hastie back in there in jan

So would I but apparently Fiorentina and Parma want him sodoubt he will be playing at fir park, apparently done amazing since going over there would love to see cadden do the same!

Went to the QOS v Stranraer game was a lot of fun but think we should be able to beat both fairly comfortably! QOS had harkins as part of a two in the middle and Stranraer easily passed round him and any balls into the channels caused chaos at the back! Stranraer were decent on the ball and kept plugging away but with joe hammil at Center half we should cause them problems and should be able to deal with there forward who looks quick and strong for that level

Honestly did not think we would get a bid for bowman what do we think the actual valuation of him is? 150k and an add on is what i would be happy with?

I think McDonald's was prob a red but think you have to give Kiernan and McDonald the same punishment and I would have given them both reds. The one thing no one seems to be talking about is the well society staying quiet about rangers fans sectarianism. Think with fan ownership we should complain the the sfa about flags and songs and constantly mention it horribly atmosphere and with huge protests about trump it's amazing we have a rascist institution in the middle of society. I thought lasley should of retired last season really not effective any more! McManus is an absolute bomb scare at the back between him and Ripley we have conceded most of our goals! Hall looks like an old player out there (in a good way) never seen him look worried always does the right thing keeps it simple think a lack of pace will hold is career back but think his floor is Stephen Craigan! Hope Thomas and Cadden and Moore watt can come through next year but we will see
