To be fair though their 1st team player manager alex Neil had an influence in the game, had to leave just after halftime though so didn't get to see the full game.
-
4-2 them with us leading 2-0 until captain Keith goes in head first and concedes 2 penalties. St mirren then go on to score after walking through our defence and scoring with shots the keeper whether it be Dan the man or Gunnar should have caught easily.
Oh and a post match interview from Mccall saying we should have done better and that there were a few chances we just didn't take.
And to wrap it up some delightful posts on here about how shite we were and how much of a joke everything is.
-
is this club just trying to cost its self money? Would have been a brilliant crowd for this. This after last weeks fiasco and missing out on a polish team that would have probably filled the place.
-
No offence but this is all an absolute joke. Clambering round trying to arrange a game with just over a week till the opening game.
This should have been sorted ages ago. Even if we were still in Europe, we should have had games on the weekends in between. Someone described us as amateurs earlier on in the thread. By fuck they where right.
Truer words could have never have been said

I'm sure player insurance must play a part
as I said I didn't think it was as simple as just announcing it was being played doon the park
-
good idea with the closed door game but why play it at the palace grounds when the miners is available?
Dug shit... Miners Park is covered in it.
Palace grounds would be easier for all, parking, transport, walking... fuck ye can get a mcdonalds or a kfc at half time

Good afternoon folks,
Thought it would be beneficial to keep everyone in the loop around a friendly match this weekend (as per Shoutbox, for those not on mobile/tablets and can see it).
We've been trying very hard to get not only a match for Saturday, but also work with various bodies/agencies to help us facilitate it to being open to the public/Well fans - in line with significant commitments elsewhere at the moment.
Both have proven difficult. The good news is we're likely to have a match, the unfortunate news is that it is also likely to be behind closed doors.
We are still working to get final agreements on both elements - hence no official announcement on this - but that's the current position as it stands.
As soon as it is concrete, which hopefully is today at some, I will post details on here/official site/social media etc.
Cheers,
If your gonna have to play it behind closed doors at firpark because you cant get stewards/policing why don't you move it it to The Palace Grounds? It then isn't a regulated football match so you don't need to have it policed or stewarded meaning the club wouldn't be losing money (assuming it had to be played behind closed doors if it were at Firpark) It would allow fans to come along and see the team and it is easier to get to than Dalziel Park.
Although I do suspect it isn't that easy.

Take a day off and stop being a cock!

Would take a relegation battle if it ment a cup
does winning a play off count as winning something?
-
I wouldn't be bothered if we won a cup and finished as low as tenth... But no lower cause well if albion can beat us I'm sure a championship team will after next season
-
1 goal or 8 goals it's the same outcome. Defeat to a much smaller part time team!
I could have took it if we went over there and drew 0-0 or 1-1 and went out that way, would have just been unlucky. Its the fact we conceded 5 goals, 3 of which penalties given away by the same player that angers me

was wanting to know if it was still worth going, if they were among some of the people saying the club was a shambles and were of the same view as some one here. Also was wanting to know if it was a good trip apart from the result. She never stopped me going on the trip but when she said £595 just for a game of football... I thought of what else I could do with that.
Edit* This too...
I just hope one or two folk on the charter had enough about them to give McCall and certain players a piece of their mind.
-
I would never criticise or belittle any Well fan for following the team. If anything I admire their dedication.
If that is your attitude you must seriously question why you visit these boards.
I'm doing neither, I was just just saying that I would like to hear from the guys who paid the money to be there and how they felt about the result.
-
Las had a big influence on the game...
I'll get my coat!
-
Didn't think this would be a busy thread...
-
would love to hear from some of those guys that thought it was wise to spend £595 on the charter...
Glad to fuck I listened to the mrs.
-
Hold on, we have someone actually talking sense here! I thought it would be a few more days before I saw that!
Thought this place would have held up for more than a few days... Was taking some resolve from the entertainment value of this place after a result like this

Where Do We Go From Here?
Scottish Championship and put out the cups by Sevco and Airdrie Probably.

I feel bad for laughing at this but...
Haha, watch his replies, you never know...

Think the problem with Faddy is the fans here already loved him.. Moving to a team like Partick is ideal.. they're not one of our rivals and not only does it give him a bit of freshness it gives him the challenge of trying to win over a new set of supporters. A new challenge.
All the best to Faddy wherever he goes though... think for us he was too much of a sentimental signing.
-
Felt sorry for Saunders, every time he got a chance he got injured. Would love to have saw the player he could have became. Hows he doing now? He still at County?
-
Can you imagine this place if we stuck an 18 year old between the sticks... oh jesus fuck it would be good!

John Ruddy was languishing in Everton's third or fourth string and his career was going nowhere when we picked him up. Darren Randolph had fallen out with Charlton Athletic when we found him. Decent keepers abound in England's reserve and lower league teams - you just have to have an eye to spot them.
Scottish clubs, more so us now are too busy moaning about being skint, when we should be appealing to guys in the situation Ruddy and Randolph were and saying look, we have a track record of helping players move on to bigger and better things. Only catch is that you will have to play for less money until such time we can move you on. Worked right, we can have good quality players at a cheap price playing out there skins to get back on the decent money again.Hey we might even get lucky and find ourselves repeating what we done with ojamaa and anier and making a transfer fee out it.

My grandpa was saying the same thing last night, he arranged his saturdays around the football.
