  1. Tough one between Bair, Patton and McGinn, controversially I’m going for Patton, great ball carrying work, always looking for the ball and unfortunate not to score. McGinn’s tackle on Kennedy was immense, even better was his high five with Butcher after jogging back. And Theo Bair, has there ever been such a redemption arc at Fir Park in years? He didn’t look like he’d seen a ball before initially, to go from that to where he is now is incredible and great to see.

  3. Can see Killie keeping it tight and relying on breaks and set pieces. At this point, don’t know if we’ve got the firepower to eke out anything else than a tight 0-0 or 1-1 draw. I hope I’m proved wrong however.
  4. Can’t disagree, would also add Casey is now looking back to his old self and was the standout from the back 3.
  5. O Donnell had a decent game, thought McGinn did some good stuff going forward, Spittall gave it his all as usual, and Blaney looked good when he came on. SoD just shades it for me.
  6. Wouldn’t be unhappy with Goss and Paton starting, Patons looked not bad so far and Goss + AN Other appears to work better than Goss + Slattery, although I do love Slatterys languid shithousery occasionally.
  7. Whether Butcher makes it today will be key, won’t be half as confident if Lamie or Bevis starts…
  8. Kinda feeling a draw in this one, but would be delighted to be proved wrong. Looking forward to it.
  9. Bit hit it and hope hoofball for much of the match but we worked their keeper multiple times in the 2nd half so deserved the point. Watering a plastic pitch before each half made it a lottery, hope either legislation or relegation sorts them out.
  10. If you’re coming in from A77/A71 via Bellfield Interchange, take Dundonald Road exit (left at first roundabout then left again), you can normally get parked on side of road. The earlier you get there, the closer to ground you get.
  11. It’s a half Windsor, a Windsor is mahoosive. But fair f**ks to the guy for going sartorial to the max,
  12. I’d agree with previous post that Kettlewell has clearly setup the team entirely differently and to the strengths of the players he has, rather than impose a 4-3-3 irrespective a la Alexander and Hammell. He’s also got previous first team management experience which Hammell didnt have, which is notable in how the teams played. He has clearly kept up with the game in his time out, and looks like a guy who’s hungry, learned and improved. If we’d to bring in a new boss, it’s be a slap in the face for Kettlewell, plus it’d take a few weeks for the new guys philosophy to bed in plus the other candidates don’t know the Scottish game. Time that we don’t have in our current situation. It’s the right short term decision and if Kettlewell keeps us up, potentially the right long term one as well. He has my support.
  13. As stated previously, Motherwell *never* win unless MJC predicts a defeat beforehand.
  14. Great hold up play by Obika in build up
  15. If you’re looking at older heads, Yogi a far better shout that Wright. At least he kept the Staggies (a fellow Premier league team) up, Wright has a 100% failure rate, Once out the relegation mire, can also play attractive football, as opposed to Wrights pragmatism which’d be a step backwards to the Alexander era. Suspect/hope it’s an agents plant
  16. Be delighted with Lambert, we need someone who can win a relegation scrap plus bring us straight back up if it doesn’t work out. I think the point to prove angle is key, you want someone who has possibly been unfairly punted (Ross at Hibs, Goodwin at the Sheep) but is fundamentally a decent coach who wants to burnish their reputation again, also is OK financially via pay-offs etc so can take a pay cut. Ross at the Arabs is an outlier that I think reflects more on the catastrof**k of a club they are currently. I love Big Yogi, particularly what he did with ICT and how he got them playing, however he’s lost 2 out of 3 of his recent relegation-saving gigs with the Staggies the only exception, so may count against him. Interesting times.

  20. Been on here since the Welltrust FC days, if MJC predicts a win it causes a ripple in the space-time continuum. Motherwell have, in fact, *never* won a game where MJC hasn’t predicted a loss beforehand. In life, it’s nice to have something you can depend on…😉
  21. Hopefully Mandron and Danzaki can make an appearance at some point, so we can see what they can both offer. Need a league result desperately to address the current downward spiral.
