  1. I agree entirely with your statement Casagolda, I have been campaigning for most of this season saying we need to get some of our reserves involved with the first and I mean playing as it's only SR thinks he has brought in better players in the summer than in the reserves, it baffles me why Donnelly, Sinclair will get games before Livingstone, I don't care it would be a big step up from the reserves to first team....or is it!! Everyone around us also commented it was probably the best game of football seen at Fir Park for a while as they did try and play football and I thought every player played their part in the TEAM and have to say Christian Mbulu improves immensely in every game he plays. I take it SR attended the game today, so maybe (fingers crossed) that he might be impressed enough to give one of them a start, I am not asking to drop the first team for our reserves, but surely one of them will break into the first team....if they get a chance Lastly Stephen Craigan no wonder you were proud of the team today, they certainly did the supporters very proud, well done
  2. SR not doing too good in my opinion, but willing to keep him a bit longer although not too long to see if any improvemnt, have to say I am getting a bit fed up of pre and post match comments as it sounds like a broken record, I realise we are on a small budget compared to other teams in the division, but his signings this season have been awful in my opinion, I would have preferred to sign say two half decent quality players rather than the four numpties we have signed namely Donnelly, Taylor Sinclair, Sammon and Goring, ok Gillespie and Johnson might be OK (jury is out on them) but they will not be superstars like Kipre or Moult. Not sure about his youth policy as well, as he very reluctant to put any of them into the first team, I know it's a big jump from reserves to first team but I am sure Turnball/McGuire/Livingston would not be out of place in the first team, let's face how much worse could they be than their first team counterparts, I am not asking for the 3 of them to jump into the first team, but I am sure one of them could be used, even McGhee managed to put Hutchison in at centre half at a very young age and he was a revelation I ponder to think what division Partick Thistle would be playing if they had sacked Alan Archibald 9 months earlier?
  3. I am sorry but I cannot see us getting a win, every week we here pre match from manager and a player saying how confident they are in getting a result, but after yesterday our confidence has basically gone and SR is running out of ideas and excuses to tell you the truth, hopefully I am proved wrong. The only positive for me with Swanson getting sent off which cancels out McHugh's sending off, I wonder if Turnball will get his chance, I doubt it as he will slot Grimshaw in McHugh's place.
  4. My point is that we are spending money on various projects but we are certainly not buying any quality in the playing staff, yesterday we had 3 Scotsman in the starting team and I am sure we could pick some decent players from the Scottish championship or first division that would do a better job than we have at the moment.
  5. What has happened to the seat covers in the South stand? with nobody in it today and would think the same against St Johnstone, I would have thought that they would cover the seats, or is it just another waste of money being spent by the club.
  6. Now the first of the three big games is now got tougher with Livi being on a high after yesterday's result, I just cannot seeing us getting a win, a few weeks ago, yes but now I think we will struggle against them especially with our defence. The second half display on Saturday suggests to me SR has now lost the dressing room, I am hoping that we are proven wrong and he gets a positive result....but I doubt it!
  7. I have to confess I was an admirer of SR and still think he can do a job, he refuses to make excuses of losing players through injury at the moment, but I have to say this seasons signings have been awful maybe apart from Danny Johnson, In my opinion he certainly hasn't strengenthed the team this season in fact it has been weakened I think he must be the only manager in Scotland thinks that Sammon has potential. I also worry about the lack of use of fringe players namely McGuire and Turnball at the moment they cannot be any worse than the so called first team players. I still haven't worked out if Hearts were that good or we were that bad, I suspect the latter. On the positive front once we get some players back from injury I would think we will start climbing the league table, although not the top six, we are certainly not any worse than say Livingston and see where they are!!
  8. I actually agree with your last statement, what I forgot to add was that I know it will not guarantee any of our players that step up will make the grade, but after watching them in the reserves I just feel they need a chance, after all despite all our good performances (Hibs apart) we are still only got 4 points and still got three difficult away games to negotiate in the next week, but I am confident we will not loose them all.
  9. I knew this would happen, all the negativity around some praise of a couple of good prospects for MFC, look I go to the under 20's/ reserve games and believe me the transformation in the performance of the younger players is there to be seen, I am not saying that because the reserve side is undefeated that the players have the god given right to play for the first team, but when McGuire and Turnball play they really do stand out, now if that is not a reason or evidence of being ready for first team duties, I am not sure what will be apart from loaning them out. By the way you never mentioned Hamilton in the comparison !!!
  10. At least the under 20's are unbeaten and our first team are 1 point above automatic relegation, considering we are supposed to have strengthened the team this season why are we down at the wrong end of the table. I know it's a marathon and not a sprint, but I think some of our first team players maybe need to be dropped as too many simple errors are costing us at the moment. I am sure Turnball and McGuire are ready for the first team duties and even Krones, Livingstone, Brown are not far away as well, plus are our players out on loan we seem to be in a healthy position as far as younger players coming though. As a footnote I will predict that Jamie Semple will be playing for Scotland full team within the next 5 years.
  11. As much as I am an advocate for our players being capped, but with our depth of squad we cannot rotate our squad to suit, but I felt all our players on international duties really tired in the second half, I know that Hearts had also players on international duty as well, but our youngsters ( not sure about Bigi but his travelling alone must have affected his performance) were really struggling especially going a goal down and goalkeeper down on Saturday.
  12. Looking forward to this game, although it will be tough, it is a winnable game. just wondering what size of crowd we will get, hopefully 8000+
  13. All the Dempster family are Rangers supporters. I would agree that Mr Burrows will be on the radar of a few clubs as he is doing an excellent job for us and is very popular within the football fraternity of Scotland, but he is a Massive and dedicated Well supporter, I hope!!!
  14. Went along to the reserve game today, although we did have a few of our first team pool players playing it was still a good performance by the steel men with no real bad performers but have to say that there was some good performances from Jason Kronos, Mbulu ( who improves every game he plays) Adam Livingstone, Gorrin, but IMO David Turnball and Barry Mcguire were the stand outs and must be on the verge of getting back on to first team duties' so at least we do have some players on the verge of first team football, I am also impressed with Alfie whenever he comes on.
  15. Sorry Peter completely wrong thing to say and now I believe going to be in trouble with the compliance officer, so possible ban/fine imposed for a stupid comment.
  16. Sorry I thought Hartley was starting to look his old self on Saturday, although he is stilll got a bit to do before he reaches his form prior to injury, but he seems to be making progress in every game he is playing. i worry about Tanner as everyone thinks he will just playing to the same form prior to injury and cannot see that happening right away, as a Motherwell supporter you have to be patient!!!
  17. He has definitely parted company with Livingston, very strange indeed. Wouldn't think it was due to us defeating them, but I am sure it would be not enough funds for him, especially if only just over 500 fans turned up yesterday.
  18. I agree with some of the candidates for Man of the Match, but I opted for Bigi as I thought he was very creative with some of his passing today.
  19. Personally I am happy enough with SR and has transformed our team from the 2016-2017 season, once we get Dunne/Bowman/Tanner back I am sure we will start winning more than losing. BUT (there is always a but)I have to question his signings close season, apart from Tom Alfred returning I am not convinced about his other signings and I certainly don't think we have strengthen the team in my opinion, hopefully I will be proved wrong. He has certainly woken up to the idea that Bigi can contribute to the team. I also don't think our captain is the same player as was before getting injured which is not helping his cause. This is another concern for Tanner with being out for 6 months injured, it will take him a lot of game time to getting him back to the form prior to being injured.
  20. It was good victory tonight but the scoreline flattered us a bit against a pretty decent East Stirling side, who fortunately for us didn't start playing until the second half, even with 10 or was it 9 men (East Stirling had committed 3 substitutes when they got more injuries, but they still plugged away I thought Turnbill, McGuire, Hastie, Ferguson, Watson had decent games, our new guy Mbulu it was difficult to say too much as it was his first game and hopefully he will improve with every game as most of them should/hopefully.
  21. Probably the most disappointing result in years for me, but it is only two games into the season, I am sure all will be forgiven if we beat Rangers!! As much as I have supported Sammon when we signed him, but that is waning very quickly and is basically the inevitable cart horse that I can see as all he is doing is causing fouls against us by running into players when trying to go for a header
  22. May I endorse what the that "hat hat" has posted and add that annual membership is £10 and we meet the second Thursday of each month during the football season with an end of season dinner usually with a board member or player in attendance. So would recommend or encourage anyone in the East of Scotland area to come along and meet up with fellow Motherwell supporters.
  23. Does anyone know what is happening with the elusive George Newall? Yet another player that is injury prone, would it not be better to off load him during this transfer window as even if fit I don't think he is going to make it.
  24. I have no qualms about selling Cedric, apart from the timing we couldn't have the worst week to sell him with all the injuries and suspensions, unfortunately we did not have the choice of timing in the fear of losing out on the money, personally looking at him in the games he played in the Betfred cup, he appeared either not interested or was gradually trying to get match fit as he unaccustomedly was definitely making basic mistakes. I could easily be wrong but for him to match last seasons form might have been difficult. i just hope that we don't rush into buying any player as a replacement, but the rate we are getting the injuries, we might have to go down that route. N.B. The MFC website were also not long in removing his profile.
