I am not surprised McGuire has been loaned out, the surprise is the level of the team he has went to, with respect to Kidderminster I would have thought Barry could have played at least in a Division 2 team in England and Championship team in Scotland, I wish him well and hope he can get a better team by playing in National league.

Are there any updates of when Butcher will be fit again?
I have heard various times but not any definite timeline from MFC apart saying that he would be missing weeks of the start of the season!

I see Mark Ohara is out for a few weeks which should help us, but I wouldn’t say it will guarantee a win, as St Mirren are still a decent outfit but have to say I would rather face a St Mirren side without O’Hara rather than him on their side.

There are posts about getting some of our younger players on a possible longer contexts after the lesson of Max Johnston , for me the priority is to make sure SK is tied down to a longer contract ( no idea what contract he has) but I am sure SK will be on the radar of some of our rivals. (If Hibs fail to go through in Conference League Cup on Thursday I wouldn’t be surprised if Lee Johnston is emptied)

There was a guy that I watched in our reserve games a few years ago aged 15 I think and thought he had potential to be a good player but alas he had some personal problems which didn’t help his cause but would love Alfie to fulfil his potential, I really do wish him all the best at Falkirk

I just don’t understand provisional clubs chasing players from a completely different culture, Old firm can probably get away with it by having a good back up of support that they can afford.
It will be interesting to see how the 2 Mexicans get on in Dundee, the cultural shock of living there in the Winter will test them I would imagine?

I also see that Butcher is out for a number of months (it was a number of weeks not that long ago!) our track record shows that we never rush anyone back from injury so we will probably see him play again in December/January!!

Mandron signed for St Mirren on a 2 year contract, best of luck to him but he is no big loss in my opinion

What worries me none of the players that have been offered a new contract are shouting from the ceiling to sign on, obviously they and their agents are looking for better deals, but some of them need to take a good look at themselves, apart from Max Johnstone they were and still are pretty ordinary players in my opinion!

Nothing to do with ins and outs but has there been any update on Calum Butcher’s injury as SK seemed concerned that it could be long term but we’re awaiting results of scans and certainly was hobbling on crutches at the last game of season?

God knows what improvements they are doing but they certainly need to look at the POD stand as that is basically past it’s sell by date, I think the LONG term view is to move to a new ground by the board, but that will be 10 to 20 years in my opinion if ever?

At least we have Slattery back tomorrow, I have to say he has been missed in my opinion.

Out of interest is Slattery available for today’s game as he encountered his 12th booking of the season against Killie which should give him a ban, nothing mentioned in SK’s press conference as it is usually 2 weeks after the 12th booking when the ban takes effect?

Remember we have only gained 1 point against them this season, so it’s definitely our bogey team, although the last game against them at Fir Park was our WORST league performance of the season, so expecting a victory for the mighty Well tomorrow.

I think SK is doing an excellent job for us, BUT my concern that he thinks Mandron is a good player, I think he is the one weakness in our side at the moment in my opinion but I worry that we sign him up for another season, I would like to think that Obika being injured is the only reason he is playing in the first team, but it looks like Aitchison is not in favour but I would prefer him to Mandron.

I didn’t give Furlong the man of the match but he must be the most improved Motherwell player ever over a such short period. If memory serves me correctly when I saw home playing against Raith Rovers in the cup, I thought that he would never make it, but he has proved me and suspect a few others wrong and is being developed into a really good young player…..but I suspect we will not get him next season loan!

I wouldn’t think there will be any chance of sacking SK in the near future, BUT the attendance today of just over 4,000 with just 3,500 Motherwell supporters bothered to turn up especially after a good result at Celtic the week before. I don’t know if it was due to the weather but to loose 500 (13%) odd supporters tells you that they are not happy and if that continues the board need to address the situation!!
