  1. The way I see it panning out is that if the executive board and investor come to agreement then this will be looked at by the major shareholder , the Well Society and from there the members of the WS will be given a vote . This vote I’m pretty sure as with most similar negotiations will come with a recommendation from the Well Society board as to whether they think we should accept or reject and and there reasons for that . However as similar to any trade union negotiations it will be up to the members to have the final say whatever the Well Society Board recommend /say . One thing I’d like to see is a meeting being held by the Well Society prior to any voting of its members with representatives from all interested parties present to allow us a to then make an informed decision . This happened when the Well Society came to fruition with a well attended meeting at the Alona Hotel when all parties were represented and I think it would certainly help any undecided members on how to cast there vote .
  2. It would be fun to watch though some of the people who post on here sitting in the boardroom during commercial and legal proceedings . Id pay to watch that . Pure comedy gold . Unfortunately £10 /month subscription wouldn’t get us a seat in the boardroom to watch that sketch
  3. Executive board seem to be doing what any other business would do in this type of negotiations. outwith football Jim McMahon im sure has a knowledge of how this all works and I’m relatively relaxed .with how things are progressing . For me a simple update is sufficient at this stage and as a £10 month Well Society member I’m not sure why I’d need to now much more at this stage of the negotiations or how my complete lack of knowledge on how these things work by throwing in my tuppence/thoughts would help proceedings Why don’t we just wait and see what the proposals are when finalised , see what the executive board recommend following these discussions then based on all that vote whatever way you think is best for the club going forward . That tends to be how things work in any walk of life and as far as I can see this is no different . Ok I get the anxiety some people may have at this stage about updates and info etc etc but that’s how business transaction’s/dealings tend to work . Im sure the executive board said they would be using a specialist /legal team to pour over the detail to prevent us being bitten or words to that effect Dont think I need to know much more that that at this stage tbh . So for the next 6 weeks think we need to be patient . It’s not that long to wait tbh .
  4. Spoke to a friend of mine who worked for St Mirren during period new CEO was there . They said he is a get things done kinda bloke , well respected ,good at engaging with people and were sorry to loose him as he definitely made a difference . So hopefully (fingers crossed )he can bring the same qualities to FP Hopefully the transition period over next week will give him a handle on things and he can hit the ground running . Now for the next part re . the investment side . The appointment probably throws up more questions than answers re .investment side but I’m sure we’ll find out soon where we’re going with that . Im also pretty sure the new guy must be comfortable-relaxed with the ongoing negotiations as otherwise why would he have accepted the appointment. Anyway things seem to be moving along now
  5. As he stated Derek Weir finishing up in a fortnights time as is his wish . Is there likely to be another interim CEO or is it likely he’ll extend beyond that . Im more inclined to think the later will be the option . Maybe a short update would be appropriate ?

Excellent resume StAndrew7. Lots of points to ponder over and digest .As a current Well Society member I’ll be very interested in what we receive from the Well Society Board. Obviously the devil is in the detail but I hope we get the 3 proposals to look at (2 investors proposals and the Well Society’s proposal . I personally would like to see how the Well Society’s options compares to the other two investors . My understanding from the above is that the WS have asked for an opportunity to present there own proposals/plan so the question is will that be available to see/read this in the same timescales as the other 2 investors . I would certainly hope so . The situation re the CEO as to whether we appoint one now or wait to see if any successful investor wants his own person in well that is an issue . So on that basis would it be possible that Derek Weir carries on beyond his anticipated leaving date till CEO issue is resolved but I suppose that’s a question for Derek Weir .
  7. Spineless . One word to describe tonight’s performance. Good Motherwell teams who did well in the past had a strong spine to them . By that I mean goalkeeper ,centre half , centre mid and centre forward . These four key positions through the centre are crucial . The spine of the team tonight was pathetic . Kettlewell must make some big decisions and the first one must be to replace Kelly in goals . Next Mugabi must be taken out the team . Six feet god knows and built like a tank yet gets bullied . That leaves centre mid . IMO don’t have one as we play this box midfield tippy tippy nonsense. And lastly centre forward . No way would I be hanging my coat on him . very poor player . Again six foot whatever and can’t even header a ball . Lastly fair play to Halliday . Wasn’t keen on him coming to club but he looks like the only one in the team with an actual football brain . As I say spineless team
  8. Have listened to the interview I thought he was very clear and answered the questions thoughtfully unlike politicians he actually answered the questions . There weren’t too many surprises in there no matter how hard some of my fellow supporters on here tried to tell us . If I’ve to single out one bit of criticism it would be they should have joined up the Chairman’s speech with this one . The gap of. few weeks has led to a lot of speculation that grew arms and legs and that could have been avoided . If I am correct St Mirren have a fans society of such which runs parallel with Kibble and it seems to work More investment is the key here and it would be money we could rely on if times got tough but also let us gamble a bit more on better players knowing there’s a decent safety net if it goes a bit wrong . That for me would be a massive help . Re the comms thing I’m on his side . Possibly a vanity project for Burrows albeit I think he thought it was the way to go . Im with Weir on that one the small pot of money we have could be better spent on the playing side than trying to win trophies at annual comms events .
  9. Got to say I’m really disappointed in Kettlewell basically calling out Gent for his mistake which led to the equaliser yesterday . To clarify yes that was indeed the case but thought Kettlewell was above that kinda thing . That’s for the Martindales of this world .Also it’s for the dressing room or during the match debrief a few days later. 100% should have been kept in the dressing room . Noticed Spittal having a pop at him at the end as well . Ok players do that . How the manager naming you publicly helps in your development /experience learning curve god only knows . The young lad has been great since he came in . Enthusiastic ,energetic and a crackin left foot delivery. Probably a bit to learn on defensive side of the game but has loads of time on his side . I can think of a lot more senior players who have cost us wins/draws this season but don’t see him having a pop at them publicly . In fact not just this season but previous as well . So for me poor show . Radio Clyde played a clip of interview and by editing it , it sounded even worse . So for me Kettlewell cut that nonsense out . Your better than that irrespective of what people think about you as a manager . poor show .
  10. Have to agree with his comments yesterday re fans . We absolutely need to get behind him and the team during game time tomorrow . Yeah it’s the players job to enthuse the fans I get that and that’s kinda what happened when we scored first against Dundee before allowing them to control the ball thereafter but we’re at a point where the players have heard the noise from the terracing . Let’s see what they come up with tomorrow, get behind them and see where we are when the game finishes …. That’s the time to show your feelings . Under current circumstances that seems fair . If we win tomorrow it’s a small step but something to hold onto . Sadly a defeat tomorrow and players ,staff and board are going to have to take there medicine at end of the game and it won’t be pretty . No wins in 12 is brutal . 13 nah game over .
  11. Any word on the injuries to Butcher,Casey and McGinn. To think these guys were solid end of last season . Good chance it’s gonna be Mugabi O’Donnell and Blaney and he took two of them of at HT . What a bloody state of affairs
  12. Result apart which was brilliant there were other aspects of the game was pleasing . The most obvious one was the togetherness of the team helping each other out when we were under the cosh and covering back for each other when players got dragged out of position . If that’s anything to go by then we’re still a team playing for each other and the manager . Bireth was an example of that playing up front on his own never complaining or moaning about how he was played . Just doing what he was told to do and going about it without complaining . paton helped out Spencer and likewise Slattery with O’Donnell . Silly stuff with Butcher pulling the shirt but it all worked out in the end . On to next week with same togetherness and bravery on and off the ball and fingers crossed our first win in ages . As much as I though the Kettlewell game plan didn’t work v Hearts , hats off to him today . Spot on
  13. I’ve been a supporter of Kettlewell and he saved us last season and deserves great credit for that . Start of this season we we’re decent although that came about as a result of a half time substitution brining on Paton into a four in midfield and one striker . The first chink in the Kettlewell regime came at St Mirren park in the cup. Think if I remember correctly we had the LB injured and he totally re jigged the back line and it didn’t work . Fast forward to today and that result was a 100% on kettlewell . Don’t know where to start but playing Spittal a kinda LWB was a shocker . The 3 striker thing was a complete disaster and that’s where the game was lost . IMO he completely overthinks things when he’s looking for solutions . It was as if he’s thinking I need to win today so let’s play 3 strikers . Then he changes it up . Bear hooked two up front and Spencer to RWB and Gent to LWB and guess what the long ball game calmed down and we started to get crosses in from Spittal Gent and Spencer . So as I say the blame for that loss today completely down to the manager but then again what would I or many fans know !!!. He has to to stop overanalysing and blethering so much about tactics as it’s clouding his judgement . Get it sorted Stuart as this is looking incredibly like the Alexander and Hammel ish fiascos
  14. Kettlewell needs to make changes even although he’s limited in what he can do . The players have ability as they showed at start of season but when they hit problems there mental strength goes and it spreads through the team . If players can’t handle this then they need dropped . Magabiis the exception . Seems a lovely lad but pressure gets to him and them he becomes a liability and his decision making and positional sense goes out the window . Think up front the best combination would be Bireth and Obika (remember him) . The remaining strikers mmmmmm not so sure tbh . Finally was that actually Slattery last night . Tremendous at start of season to last night .(WTF)
  15. Gutted to have lost the game yesterday particularly the manner of it . Switched off in the final attack of the game and it’s cost us a point . However looking at the place we’re at with this team I think we might be on to something albeit early days . Organisationally we are much better and play as a unit . Its decent on the eye and defence and midfield are decent . Up front we need to improve but I’ll judge that when we’ve got injured strikers back . Kettlewell has to be congratulated for his work with the players as after St Johnstone and Raith Rovers games last season we were absolutely atrocious as a team with no spirit and not playing as a team with any confidence . So yeah disappointing to loose 3 on the bounce but the difference is night and day since he’s taken over
  16. I’ve been pleasantly surprised how well Kettlewell has done . He took over a complete shambles of a team both how they played and the obvious lack of team spirit and confidence . Nobody could have envisaged how he actually turned it round . Other thing I like about him is his ability to realise and accept when he gets it wrong /sees its not working and changes it and finds another way . The way he’s managed to get rid of some of the players by being honest with them about there playing chances has been impressive . It’s been a total cull and he’s done it in a professional way (Efford maybe not so much ) I think we might have a decent manager on our hands and if given time and PATIENCE from fans and board then given a reasonable amount of time he will defo improve us . Probably needs another couple of windows but I think he has a clear plan of how he wants things to pan out . Hopefully he’ll get the time to do it as he started with a low bar and I feel he deserves a chance to build his own team and put his stamp on it . To summarise although he’s not in the door that long I think he GETS the club and has bought into the job quicker than I thought he would . For me a good fit for our club , a decent bloke by all accounts , firm but fair and most importantly the players seem to have bought into him unlike the previous two incumbants
  17. Here here . Absolute attention seeking rockets . Good luck to the lad . Hope it goes well for him and us as that’s what we all want …….. correct ?
  18. The Mugabi /Lamie partnership just doesn’t work . This is feeding into the team in general compared to the Casey /Butcher partnership where it felt we had a good solid foundation . Think we’ve given them umpteen chances to prove they can do it but time and time again over the last few seasons the combination doesn’t work . Persevering with them imo will cost us big time this season
  19. If Luton are promoted today do we benefit by way of add-ons due to the Alan Campbell transfer ….. or is that just wishful thinking on my part . Can’t remember what Burrows said post move .
  20. So after Jim Goodwin saying before he took the United job that he decided not to apply for another job in the League at the time who’s team didn’t have a manager (wonder who that team was ?) as he thought they were unsaveable . Well there you go Jim . Oh Jim looks like you’ve set yourself up there for a bit of stick . Schoolboy error Jim TBH I kinda thought the same way at the time ……. But that doesn’t really matter as I’m not the United manager Just putting it out there like .
  21. If it’s of no detriment to the club financially why would we not have him in for a preseason . Can’t see why some people wouldn’t think that is worth a gamble . Doesn’t work out …. Ok move on . But if it does happy days . Its not something that I’m getting over exited about either way but wouldn’t completely Bin the idea . No reason to .
  22. I’d have Louis Moult back if some kind of deal could be built in to the contract to protect the club . I saw enough of him to be convinced in games at tynecastle and McDermott parks that even not fully fit he was class . what’s the harm in getting him in for preseason ,medical etc and take it from there . Surely that has to be worth doing as we’ll have loads of trialists in during that period and he could be properly assessed by our physios as to whether he can cope with the demands of first team football in SPFL If we don’t do it then sure as hell other teams around us will . If it doesn’t work no harm done but if it does ……… we have a player . No brainier for me to at least get him up here . Im sure a contract could be drawn up to suit both parties and after reading that herald article he’s a decent bloke and wouldn’t be hard to deal with .
  23. Phoned office today . I’m 63 and they confirmed I still get the concessions for over sixty as I’m existing season ticket holder so all good .
  24. I can understand we don’t get to here about all the details of the interviews/negotiations etc etc but thought it would be right as a fan run club to at least let us know where we are in the process with a carefully worded statement . The silence only leads to speculation amongst the fans . Would have thought the board would be happy to engage with the fans without giving us exclusives. Only really looking to see where we are in the process . Over to you Chairman/board
  25. Does anyone know what is happening with the CEO position . Talk was Mark McGhee . Unless he’s working his notice it’s all gone a bit quiet . You’d think Well Society board or Chairman would give us an update . Not looking for an exclusive but surely an update on how it’s gone or how the process is going would be a decent shout …………… unless I’m missing something
